Avoid if You Expect Any After-Sales Support

My experience with this supplier has been extremely disappointing.

I purchased four lamp tubes. One arrived broken, and the other three were the wrong type. The incorrect specification was my mistake, and I was prepared to return them in accordance with the supplier's returns policy. However, what has followed has been a complete failure of customer service.

I have submitted a return request through the company's formal returns process, sent multiple emails, left voicemail messages, and requested call-backs.

The broken item has not been addressed, and I have been unable to arrange the return of the unwanted items because the supplier simply will not engage. At this point, I have exhausted every reasonable method of communication available to a customer.

Problems with orders can happen with any business. What distinguishes a good supplier from a bad one is how they deal with those problems. In my case, there has been no interest in resolving the issue.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise potential customers to think carefully before ordering from this company, particularly if there is any possibility that you may need customer support, a replacement, or a return after the sale.

Overall a good service and prompt and polite communication.

Easy to find what I wanted on the website, and quick service and delivery.

I purchased 2 of the old style incandescant or filament bulbs. One lasted a few weeks before it stopped working and the second arrived with the filament rattling and looking strange. I tried it and it worked initially and then expoded soon after. I rang and a second one was sent in exchange, but the same thing happened and the customer adviser gave me a refund for it. The adviser was helpful but I will not be buying anymore.
The customer support replied to this review and offered to refund me for the other bulb and suggested LED bulbs, (which I am not keen on), but I was happy with their response.

I bought a T12 Florescent strip light to replace an old one in an old fitting in our veranda. I was so lucky to find one of these on the website at General Lamps. I rang my order through and the light arrived within a few days, really well packaged in bubble wrap and a rigid cardboard tube. Excellent service, pleasant and helpful service on the telephone. Light works perfectly. Highly recommend this company.

Ho acquistato da loro tramite Amazon una lampadina introvabile in Italia.
Purtroppo, non mi sono accorta che la spedizione avvenisse direttamente tramite loro e, così,mi sono trovata capultata in un vero e proprio incubo.
Ora, la lampadina è arrivata a Poste Italiane da Royal Mail e il venditore sosterrebbe che io debba sbloccare la consegna pagando una tassa doganale, senza peraltro comunicarmi alcun dettaglio in merito.
Amazon conferma che io ho già pagato tutto e che non devo più nulla a nessuno, come del resto risulta dal dettaglio dell'ordine.
Al momento, Poste italiane non mi ha ancora comunicato nulla in proposito.
Nonostante queste informazioni scritte a General Lamps anche da Amazon, costoro insistono con la questione del pagamento, usando addirittura toni minacciosi.
Non mi resta che attendere i prossimi sviluppi, ma viste le premesse che non mi fanno ben sperare, inizio a sconsigliare vivamente ogni acquisto, perlomeno quelli internazionali.
La risposta data da General Lamps qua sotto non è accettabile: 1. la tassa doganale è già inclusa nel mio pagamento ad Amazon, 2. Poste italiane non mi stanno comunicando nulla in proposito, del resto, 3. Il numero di tracciamento LA698551182GB me lo hanno dato loro solo dopo mia richiesta e, quindi, pare strano che ora dicano di non averlo..., 4. I signori hanno anche gli screenshots dell'ordine e del tracking di Poste italiane.
Quindi, non mi pare affatto che mi vogliano aiutare, anzi.
