I'd give zero stars if I could. You pay a ridiculous fee to get service and they still have ads. This China company is scamming Americans. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THEM!

Terrible experience. Got a camera to be able to keep an eye on our poorly cat while we were away. App is useless - never loads properly, you're bombarded with ads and you basically have to pay for a subscription in order to get anything useful. They also put a time limit on watching the camera 'live' so you can't even use it like a baby monitor without paying. I paid for a subscription and then decided to upgrade, but instead of upgrading it just charged me for a second subscription even though I only had one camera!! I tried to contact them to ask them to refund me for the error, they refused. Then when my cat passed away I asked to cancel the subscriptions. I contacted them three times over the space of a month and each time was met by a similar response offering me a free month instead of just cancelling as I'd asked. The whole thing feels like a scam - avoid.

Awful company

I purchased 3 cameras years ago and since then most services were stripped unless you pay a subscription. Spammed with adverts you can't close, PC version no longer works. Please don't buy from this company

This camera is a piece of crap! It’s funny how if you aren’t paying for the subscription it’s never online all of a sudden! I tried the 3 day trial and didn’t have an issue of the camera being offline once. Subscription cancelled and not it’s been offline for 2 days! When it was online it picked up every car driving by my house, but not once did it pick up anybody on my porch or any vehicles exiting or entering my driveway. What a joke! How can you not pick up people standing right in front of the camera, yet every car on the street. Don’t waste your money!

Filled with tons of ads that you have to watch for as long as 2 minutes or so, just to watch your live feed of a SECURITY CAMERA!

Do not use at all!

Open the app - multiple ads with timers,

View live stream - multiple ads with timers and now limited to viewing under 2 mins before you have to watch multiple MORE ads with timers!

Everything has ads.
This is unusable, especially as a security app!

They also put lots of things that you used to have included for free, behind a paywall, even HD viewing is behind a paywall now!
And you are limited to under 2 mins to watch your live stream.
This should be illegal!

What is worse is that many ads are scam ads too which impersonate sites or would install malware/virus's if you installed them!

Imagine if you think you are being robbed.
You open the app to ads, then more ads to watch the live stream.
Takes you 2-3 mins just to view a live stream and then you are limited to a short viewing time before you have to do it all again!

Do not use Yi or Kami cameras at all!

When I originally got the camera everything was good. But gradually the adds and paid functions increased in the app to the point where you cannot use the camera without a subscription

I’ve had a Kami outside camera for a few years.
It works ok with a built-in SIM card, and mains electric power.
That said, over this time Kami have constantly pestered me to take out a cloud subscription. I don’t want or need a cloud subscription. So what do they do, over this time they have increased adverts, time wasting distractions and practically made it impossible to access my camera activity. They’ve removed features and tell me I can have them back if I subscribe to a cloud account. This operation is a scam, no other word for it. Stay Away !

Kami Home is a fraud. They take subscription money. After a few months, change the app. yiiot app is longer functional. All old subscription payment history lost. Existing camera service log on shows as new potential fraud target, needs to pay anew for setting up new phones. They promised to solve problem in 3 days. All AI garbage response. They just take the money and don’t give service. My 7- day cloud review subscription is totally gone when Yi ioT app stopped functioning and Kamihome app has my account name, but labeled my cameras as expired, while I have paid for long term service. They never try to fix the problem. Camera cannot be setup for SD reviewing. Without paying new AI cloud service, all my cameras could not be added for live viewing purpose. It is a fraud. California government should shut this company down.

A horrible company. Definitely stay away. I purchased a membership and was charged twice. I requested a refund, and they opened an inquiry in their app. First, they said there were no duplicate charges; then they said, “We replied to you, check the app.” I couldn’t view anything. I saw a footnote saying to update the app. The app no longer exists, so I downloaded their new app. I signed in, and guess what happened? There is absolutely nothing related to my account—no orders, no complaints, nothing else. It’s as if a brand-new account was created from scratch. Friends, you can never reach them. Stay away. STAY AWAY.

Horrible customer service, they are refusing full refund. Cameras are bad quality, video is even worse. It doesn’t pick up motion at all or function properly. Tons of ads. Waste of money.

Absolute shambles now since Kami took over. Would not recommend, they now stop you from watching more than 90 seconds without you subscribing. Even though I use an SD card and have been for year when they used to be YI Home. I will be ripping out all 5 cameras and using a reputable product instead.

Such a scam, the Ui tricks you so easily into signing up for the cloud service it should be illegal! horrible experience

Had free viewing on cameras for years. Has a slot for memory card and now they want you to pay a yearly subscription and if not you only get to watch 90 second clip. Absolutely garbage

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Been using their cameras for years have over a dozen but now almost totally useless unless you sign up for cloud services. Latest trick is to bombard the app with adverts, then have a 90 second viewing window and the feed stops. Total ripoff now.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Do not recommend. We bought a Kami baby monitor so we could watch our baby and connect their monitor to our google home system. It worked one time, and then after about a month, we noticed that the sound didn’t work. When we contacted Kami, now Yi, they insisted that they never even made a baby monitor and that the only way to get sound was to upgrade to their premium subscription. We have now had the camera for three years and actually had to buy a separate sound baby monitor to hear our child. The app only got slower, increased advertisements and finally, now, they have a limited viewing time. Of our baby monitor. Its completely useless as a baby monitor and completely useless as a security camera. I don’t even think their premium version would be worth it as their customer service is truly terrible. They don’t help, just try to persuade you to buy more.

Would not recommend.

I have had a Kami camera for sometime but will replace it as soon as possible. As others have experienced I was double charged and Kami wanted avoid returning unauthorised bank transactions. The result it cancelled payment cards and a bank investigation.
