Zero discount for Isle of Man Residents
Same price for Isle of Man Residents as for those in UK when zero IPT tax is levied in the IOM. Whilst not technically dishonest not exactly trustworthy.
….. and the reply is what exactly? Just waffle. So an admission the price is the same and therefore that they are indeed pocketing the equivalent of the IPT.

taking out policy - easy, sorting small problem - nightmare
I had an existing policy for Europe. I am visiting USA in November 2025 so took out new policy to commence on first day of renting car there (which overlapped). As a result I couldn’t register my email address for the second policy. trying to resolve this was a nightmare on a chat line which took nearly an hour. I have used the company for many years and service was by phone, & great - it doesn’t appear to be so now. I have since received a reply from I4CH apologising. A word of advice for anyone taking out a separate policy where the dates of cover overlap… USE A DIFFERENT EMAIL ADDRESS FOR THE SECOND POLICY- hopefully I4CH will incorporate this advice in their help section or amend their existing system

They just avoid paying your claim
I claimed more than a month ago, customer service is very slow to reply, always finds excuses to delay the payment and there’s no direct phone number to call. Stay away from this company

Claim handling is very slow and unprofessional, avoid!!
I have had a policy with insurance4carhire for a few years, I made several claims over the years, my experience wasn’t very good to say the least. Their claim handling is very slow and also very unprofessional.
Right now I’m in the middle of a £450 claim which has been open for more than three weeks, although all documents have been provided in a timely manner, no update has been provided, I will update this review once it’s completed, but it’s already looking really bad being that the claim is taking so long whilst all documents have been provided and there is no response to emails even, If this goes on any further, I will probably take legal and regulatory action against them.
I most certainly do not recommend this insurer.

The insurer accused me of wilfully causing the damage to the rental car !!
Upon filing a formal complaint against them for false allegations I was awarded compensation

Reasonable price
Reasonable price, told about the company while in a car hire office , arguing about not needed extra insurance from the car hire company as it was too expensive, took details for this company and have been using for many years.

Easy to set up cover. Price seems reasonable.
Hopefully the cover never be used.
Ive no idea if they will pay or some hidden clause will get them out of it.

Used to be good, now rubbish to claim from.
I used to use Insurance4carhire years ago, and they were excellent. I made one small claim in about 15 years which they dealt with quickly. I've used them the last three years since the Swinton buy out and all was looking good - very easy to take a policy out. However, I've had to make a relatively small claim, I provided scans off all the documents they asked for, but it has just sat there for a week as open with no interaction. I've emailed for an update. Nothing. Totally unacceptable.
