Terrible pricing
Terrible pricing. My husband had a bacon sandwich with a fried egg, it cost £9.49!! A rip off. Only later we noticed he could have had a full breakfast with tea, toast and juice for £9.99, how can that be right. Puts us off going back.

Simple not worth wasting your time
Wife convinced me to try Hilliers breakfast, £10 each sounded on the pricey side but if it's good food perhaps itd be worth it.
After queuing for 10mins a young staff member had been sent along the queue to inform folk that once ordered the wait for food was 55 MINUTES!!!
Gauging the speed of the queue we'd not be served for at least another 10mins, meaning 1hr 15mins before you actually get to see what a £10 breakfast looks like.
Thankfully a staff member walked past with the very same fabled breakfast on a tray, it clearly isn't worth £10 nor was it worth wasting so much of a Sunday morning waiting for.
Well done Hilliers, transport cafe food at garden center prices with theme park queue times.

I recently ordered the Hozelock Compact…
I recently ordered the Hozelock Compact Reel + 25m Hose Pipe & Nozzle from Hillier Garden Centres, and while the initial delivery was missing the spray gun, the issue was resolved incredibly quickly. Their customer service team, particularly Melanie, was efficient and friendly. They immediately sent a replacement, which was delivered to my door without any hassle.
I’m genuinely impressed with the quality of their service and how they handled the situation. It’s a shame to see their Trustpilot score so low because my experience was nothing but positive. I can’t help but wonder if some of the negative reviews are influenced by competitors because this shop clearly deserves much higher recognition.
I’ll definitely shop here again and recommend it to others! Excellent job, Hillier!

Restaurant prices are a disgrace in…
Visited the Hilliard restaurant in Botley today, absolutely disgusted with regard to the prices,
I requested a pot of tea for one, together with sausages and mash. I was given a small mug of hot water ,one loose teabag and a minuscule jug of milk, I requested If could have the tea in a teapot , the reply was , we are no longer allowed to use teapots.
Th bill was for £2.50 for the tea. And £13.99 for 3 sausages, mash and peas.
The garden side of the business, one cannot fault, but certainly the same cannot be said with regards the restaurant experience
Further to the above, yesterday we visited Dobbies restaurant at Cadnam, pot of tea (filled 4 cupfuls) £2-50, and an excellent cottage pie with ample vegetables Need I say more

Go to Hillers about 4 times a week after walking dogs for tea and always been pleased as you had a teapot which you got 2 cups of tea suddenly today been told NO MORE TEAPOTS just a cup am very disappointed as no explanation given even tho just recently put price up we like going there as made welcome by staff so will now go to garden centre down the road where you get teapots,do not understand there reasoning for this.

This morning myself and my partner went for a breakfast in the restaurant as we do every Sunday. We were later informed that a member of staff on the till was questioned by the Manager as to whether we had paid for our breakfast. We have a very good relationship with some of the staff,especially the younger ones.I can only assume the manager thought I was complicit in committing a fraudulent act with the assistance of a staff member.I resent the accusation, if he had asked me I could have shown the till receipt it was paid by by credit card.I now intend to take my patronage to another local garden centre

I visited Hillier at Cheddar. It states "no dogs" in the restaurant".
However, we have visited on the 2 last occasions the were dogs aside their owners chairs.
I think it's disgusting where food is being served. You may love your dog. I don't.

What a really lovely place to visit!
Just got to say we have had so many amazing visits to the Hilliers garden center in Cheddar, in the summer we had amazing cream tea and the staff so friendly, and I have to say The Best Scones around and I have tried a few! And Now the festive baguette just so good we had to go back back again.And then the festive scones WOW and sooo fresh well worth the miles we have to travel

Recommended the restaurant to a group of friends for Christmas lunch as reasonably priced and we visited today. The two course meal was excellent. The food was hot and tasty. All of us really enjoyed the turkey and the venison pie with accompanying vegetables etc. which we had chosen in advance. The cheesecake and Christmas pudding were also excellent. Definitely worth the £20 a head.

They used to cook a lovely breakfast but the company have cut corners and using cheap food products. The sausages are now on par with cheap tesco value sausages. Yet the price they charge is for a quality food. Stop being so cheap if you want to retain custom.

We regularly visit Hilliers in Hermitage
We regularly visit Hilliers in Hermitage for breakfast and family catch ups. The breakfast is lovely and very good value. The food is always hot, fresh well presented and tasty.
We then take a good look around and finish our visit with a coffee and cake in the cafe.
The staff are always friendly and helpful from those in the cafe and advice when purchasing an indoor plant.

Made the mistake of visiting the branch in Bath. Went to their cafe to be bullied by staff. Food is awful and terrible coffee. Not kid friendly at all.

No flexibility on dogs, poor quality food
Visited the Newbury garden centre with my very poorly husband who has not been able to get out of the house for a few weeks. We took our dog & were looking forward to a nice lunch, to maybe buy a Christmas tree and some baubles. But guess what? After he struggled from the car park to the cafe? Dogs are NOT allowed, even small well behaved dogs. The cakes in the cafe looked highly processed, tasteless and massively overpriced. We didn't want to leave the dog in the car (risk of theft) so drove soth to Yew Tree garden centre. Again, DOGS NOT ALLOWED.
So drove into Newbury, poor hubbie had a long very difficult walk to Chego's who welcomed the dog and us, served us a delightful lunch, glass of wine, superb service from a pleasant waitress. Then to Rufus for an excellent coffee, quality cakes & a cosy atmosphere, with our dog.
Hillier and Yew Tree - you lost business from us today and into the future. We will go for quality and service and kindness to our well behaved pooch every time!!!!!!

We do accept dogs throughout our Garden Centers and outdoor seating areas, and we genuinely strive to create a welcoming environment for all of our visitors, including those with pets. However, due to food safety regulations, we do not allow dogs inside the restaurant seating area as it is too close to where food is being prepared and served.
We also receive feedback from some of our customers who feel that dogs should not be allowed at all within the Center, so we aim to strike a balance by allowing dogs in the outdoor spaces, while ensuring the indoor areas remain safe for food preparation. We hope this helps clarify our policy, and we truly appreciate your understanding.
We are sorry that you were unable to enjoy your visit with your dog, and we hope you will consider visiting us again in the future. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish your husband a speedy recovery.

Two full English breakfasts with toast and tea included for under £20! Excellent food and service, clean restaurant, absolutely no complaints at all. Highly recommended.
We only had a brief look round the garden centre but it was clean, well laid out, and there were some bargains to be had. Overall very good experience. Well done everyone. I will definitely be back.

Not a place I will return to
This place is the most confusing I have ever been to. The restaurant is right at the back of the complex and if you have parked at the front, you have to navigate right around the building and it is only identified by the name of the cafe. There is outside seating in a very bland area with very little attempt to make it look like a nice place to sit in. Only advantage is that is sunny.

Yummy food if a tad expensive.
Ordered 2 macaroni cheese with garlic bread. Expensive at £12.99 but was absolutely delicious 😋. Many thanks to the chefs and servers who work really hard to cater for their many customers. Thanks folks, your hard work (and delicious food) is appreciated. My only concern is that the menu board is unreadable (as other people were commenting on). I had to look at the paper copy by the till.

Gave my paid for purchase away to another customer
Bought some garden furniture and paid for delivery. When it did nt arrive I went in . Initially I was told it was out for delivery but on further investigation I was told it had been delivered to another customer! As there were none left I was given a refund. On contacting the manager I was offered a free coffee !! Appalling service . A perfectly good garden centre ruined by Hilliers ! Won’t be buying anything big again!

Purchased item of furniture in the sale. Was told by 2 members of staff it was free delivery. Several days later had not contacted me to say when it would arrive so went to the shop to find out what was happening, the manager demanded £25 from me to get it delivered. His words were ‘you want the item, you pay us or you pay the driver or you don’t get it delivered’. The 2 staff members admitted they had told me it was free but the manager would not honour that. I got a refund, will not shop here again, they are not to be trusted and customer service is non-existent!

Had tea for 4 at Weyhill today, very disappointing. Mass produced cakes (scones not even out of their wrappers), sweaty cream, cheap ham sandwiches with cheap bread. £20 per head and not worth £5. I shan’t be returning.
