Great service and was in and out with no issues

Did not accept our university's corporate discount due to nit-picky requirements about employment verification. Ended up paying double for the rental as a result. My ID card said 'academic professional' instead of 'staff' or 'faculty', which was apparently an insurmountable issue for staff at this location.

The staff was genial and efficient.

I was charged a higher price for a bigger car since they did not have the smaller car I reserved ahead of time. If Hertz does not have the car available, don't charge me the higher price for the car I have to rent.

My Hertz rental was reserved through Road Genius Car Hire that recognized my Bakersfield home location while visiting Berkeley CA, where I had arrived there by Amtrak and planned to visit the University of California (via bus), then Pt. Reyes in Marin Co., and finally the California of Academy of Sciences in San Francisco by car and by train before returning the rental car to Bakersfield. The cost to rent from the Albany/Berkeley was very reasonable, especially in being able to return their vehicle to another Hertz rental location (BFL), and as I learned was less when rented by the week than by the day Although the Albany location was on a relatively small lot with small office, they offered quality new vehicles, even an upgrade, which I declined for size in anticipation of having to park in the city. The paperwork processing was relatively short while I saw additional help to quickly respond to other customers that arrived as I was being processed. The travel itinerary combining train and rental vehicle I saw as the most efficient means for me to travel, especially to avoid the traffic jams on Interstate 580. And Hertz may have recognized this.

Always have to wait even if I am gold member! Otherwise mostly smooth. I rent frequently from here.

Hertz is Albany, CA is fantastic. Yenifer and Marlon are knowledgeable, friendly, professional and attentive. The vehicle selection is good, too!
