Healthy Pets Insurance was founded in 1996 by Mark Effenberg, as Chief Executive of a pet-loving business insuring the UK's cats and dogs. Today, Healthy Pets, which was founded before Google, is an established participant in the £1 billion-plus UK pet insurance market. Based in Petersfield, Hampshire Decades on, the fact that we are a leader in online insurance and know how pet owners think gives Healthy Pets Insurance, as of 2017 part of The Ardonagh Group of companies, a distinct advantage. We talk cats and dogs, and we truly understand that pets really are members of the family. Being internet-based with a team of understanding pet specialists available over the phone, means we can offer high-quality cover at more than competitive prices. Because we are efficient, agile and specialist, and we know pets and their needs from our own experience, Healthy Pets has one of the highest renewal rates in the pet insurance industry because, in our view, whether it's the opening contact or dealing with a complex claim, we know how important it is not just to hear our customers, but to listen to every woof and meow. Opening the policy was straightforward and details emailed through immediately premium competitive
Other than that I cannot comment Hopefully I will never have to claim but if I did then I trust they would be equally as efficient.

Couldn’t have been better
Hadn’t heard of this company before and worried I may regret going for one of the cheaper options rather than a well known brand. Our cat got extremely sick and had to undergo various tests and scans and had lots of treatment and amazingly recovered after being on deaths door. Healthy Pets were amazing. All claims were made quickly and without any push back. Really pleasantly surprised and gave us one less thing to worry about during a very stressful time. Thank you!

Renewal was easy however i had to cancel my original policy to start a new one because of the rediculous renewal cost of my original policy
Crazy that loyalty is nor rewared chasing new customers.

Our renewal premiums reflect the ongoing care your pet has received, including any signs or symptoms noted in their clinical history, as well as their age and the rising cost of veterinary treatment — which has increased significantly over the past year. These factors help us ensure your pet continues to be covered without any gaps, especially for conditions that may have developed during their time with us.
That said, we’re always happy to explore your options. If you’d like, we can provide a quote for a new policy, which includes a 20% introductory discount. Just keep in mind that new policies come with waiting periods and won’t cover any pre-existing conditions — even if no treatment has been needed yet. Please check that your pet has no signs or symptoms that you may need to claim for in the future before breaking cover to take a cheaper new business policy with the discount.

Healthy Pets were very sympathetic when I had to have my much loved cat put down. They were upfront from the outset about what they could and couldn't cover, and my claim was settled as quickly as possible with the minimum of delays. Great value …
After being quoted an extortionate renewal price from my existing insurer, healthy pets was half the price for almost identical cover. It has choice of cover from basic to lifetime cover, which I have chosen. Hopefully I won’t need to experience their claims service.
