Haven Holidays 

Just stayed at the Haven site in Prestatyn 23rd July to 26th July and will not be returning. I feel I have been mislead by Haven into paying for a stay and play pass believing that I would have access to activities and entertainment. Total rubbish, no swimming, no evening entertainment, in fact just one evening entertainment out of three nights is all we could get. So I have been cheated into paying for a pass that is worthless. If they can’t provide the activities they shouldn’t be taking our money, the only good thing was that it was really good weather, good job for us as we could get out of there and go and find other activities for the kids. Definitely won’t be going to a Haven site again. Also if they are using the excuse they are following government guidelines for covid then why wasn’t anyone wearing face-masks, nobody seemed to be bothered to correct people about this. Obviously Haven does what it wants and gets a way with it. Save your money and go to a holiday site that provides what you’ve paid for.

Pretty disappointed with the caravan at littlesea,we went away the year before to caster and got a beautiful van we booked a platinum with decking, this year we've just turned up and booked the same again the caravan is well used it's over 5 years old,the van smells unpleasant in a few of the rooms and wasn't cleaned that good,i don't think we will use haven again, we've been using them for a number of years, it's a bit hit and miss with what you get pretty disappointed really,we also couldn't book up lot's of stuff only 2 swimming sessions aloud over a 14 night stay,food places shut for days and days because of no staff?

Just the same old here at Haven, Craig Tara Ayr. Food is poor, staff are not interested and rude, costs a fortune with children during day. Holiday very disappointing given the cost of the caravan which came with its own issues that eventually got resolved 3 days into the holiday.
Weather fantastic though.

Don't ever go to devon cliffs (haven).what a load of s..t couldn't get food in the restaurant. Tried booking not a chance.bar staff and waitress just ignore u.compland at reception and they just shrugged there shoulders and said that what it is.payed £1474 for a dirty s..ty caravan that looked 20yrs old.had to clean everything when we got in cutlery, floors,toilet absolutely disgusting. All we got in the end was 1 swimming session for 1 hour.booked twice at the beach cafe only to arrive both times and they said they had no food or staff were off due to covid.And for table service well what a load of chap no chance of getting pissed.and just to finish the week we booked for Sunday lunch in barrel and mash to be told there was no food due to grills and ovens down.the place is just a s..t hole.i think apprentices could run it better.

9th till 16th july,
8 of us stayed at the place and on the 1st day we purchased tickets for the week, £30 per head, because of COVID we had to book everything so myself and the wife had to go back to the mobile home to ask everybody who wanted swimming for the next day and we could do it online.
After ages and ages of trying to get online they said oh yeah it’s a problem we are having it’s buffering all the time so just go down tomorrow and walk in as lots of people don’t turn up, next morning the 8 of us went down and we were greeted inside the building ( pool ) by a young lady and she informed us somebody vomited in the pool so it’s closed for 12 hours and the outdoor pool was fully booked out.
Cut a long pool story short!! For the rest of the week we didn’t swim as both pools were booked out.
We went to play crazy golf and it was £2.50 but we paid £30.00 and questioned what £30.00 was for? Oh that’s just to get you in!! In what? Nothing because once you’re in you have to pay for poxy crazy golf.
On the final day just for fun we hired out 2 peddle carts and it cost £16.00 for a 4 seater and £12.00 for the 2 seater for 1 hour.
My daughter and her friend brought the 4 seater back, they are both 19 and the guy on the hut said why are you laughing have you broken it and they said no we are laughing peddling it back here.
Only thing broken Haven was our pockets and the fact we had to drive into mablethorpe town each day for entertainment because your establishment is an absolute dump.
They have a pizza place on site and a delivery car all spruced up pizza delivery golden sands but they didn’t deliver so the kids went down but they were too late it was closing.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I understand that covid is still around but I find it completely rediculious that Haven have their own rules. This is meant to be a fun time for kids yet not even allowed to move from the table when at the entertainment. Told that I cannot visit my families caravan yet we are all in the same bubble.
Passes ended up being a complete waste of money as we could not book anything. Havens idea of back to normal certainly isn't back to normal!

Booked 5 days at golden acres caravan site in Wales. Very very disappointing, we arrived at 4pm check in time and to find that everything was booked up. I have a boy of 4 and there wasn't anything available to go on. The site was dirty and badly run by staff that didn't care. The water was turned off on the Wednesday all day without being told and wasn't offered any water or told when it would be switched back on. I wont be booking at that site again and I would avoid if possible.

The only positive thing on this holiday was the caravan, it was lovely!
My kids were so looking forward to using the indoor and outdoor pool plus there little water park but they couldn’t use it as it was always fully booked inside, the outdoor pool and water park wasn’t even open all the time we stayed here.
I prebooked one night for the entertainment on the haven app which you could only choose one night, when we got there Monday we did manage to get into the entertainment at 7.45pm and I was disappointed as thought there would still be entertainment for the kids but it was just a singer plus the kids had to be seated at all times, also your only allowed an hour and a half in there. After that we went to the restaurant which we couldn’t go into as they said they were fully booked but then they had loads of empty tables. Tuesday managed to get a table in the restaurant only due to a customer cancelling when we were there. Couldn’t get into entertainment. Wednesday had prebooked our table for 6.45pm in the entertainment still nothing on for the kids at that time just some comedian which wasn’t very funny to be honest. Couldn’t get in to the restaurant on this night. Thursday entertainment and restaurant couldn’t get into as again saying they were fully booked but both places had loads of empty tables so we went into the arcade, we couldn’t even order a drink to take with us into arcade. By Friday we decided we were going home on Saturday morning even though we were booked till the Monday. Still didn’t get into entertainment but did manage to book a table in restaurant. The only things the kids could do on the site during the day was play in the park or have a game of crazy golf, everything else was shut eg bungee trampoline, target shooting and aerial adventure and many other things that was put on the haven app!!!
Like I said the only positive things really was the caravan, the food was nice and the staff were polite. We have been given a 20% discount so will be waiting for this payment to go into our bank.
I am very disappointed in haven and so were my kids!!

Stayed with haven at golden sands mablethorpe visited in March and July for 2 weeks won't be booking here again. The entertainment team are good along with the barstaff etc. The security team well majority are good and do there job. One of them a tall chubby bald headed guy preys on young mums in smoking area that he probably thinks are single. The rude comments he was throwing at them where unprofessional and creepy. Not booked anymore holidays with this particular park however still booked with haven. Felt like the 2 weeks I had in July at golden sands was a waste of money and spoilt by the security team.
Prices on park are reasonable we have a privilege card (owners card) so get discount but it's still cheaper to pre shop. I paid for a Monday to Monday and a Monday to Friday we switched caravan on the Monday bit of a pain but was about £300 cheaper that way.
Table service was quick and meant we didn't have to acknowledge creep of security guard. Funny though when I sat with my partner he left her alone. Then moved to another. The guy needs to be taken off site it's a family holiday park and creeps like him ain't welcome. Sort it out haven.

Went to haven at Lake District recently. It’s clear to see none of the staff wanted to be there. You book in advance for them to say they have no booking, to them then change their mind when they get the proof. Supposedly had no bikes to ride until we walked round the back and there was a shed full! The staff then decided to give us them! Went for dinner - hour and a half wait then to come back - hour later they were shut! Joke off a holiday will never holiday with haven again! Ruined my only holiday with my children this year!

I’ve not even got there as yet and I’m totally disgusted that you can only go swimming twice !!! I’ve paid £1250 and they put a limit on swimming it’s unacceptable. Just think a minute before booking to go on one of these Haven holidays, for the money there are alternatives CONSIDER them

If we are talking about the customer service level here it's ridiculous. Waiting an hour and half to wait to speak with someone I gave in the end. Even emailing takes 5 days for a response. Refund due but not for the full amount and taken insurance on the holiday in case this happened 37 days I've been waiting even though I was advise it takes 28! Just cannot get through to anybody. Just the worst. Sad really I have used them for years but won't be returning after this

Cant be bothered to answer calls post covid. Refuse to listen to customers about the pre booking services causing families not to be able to book anything on site. They have had record sales but they are short sighted. Never again will i book another Haven holiday.

If you’re thinking of going to a Haven site, especially Hafan Y Mor, please don’t.

We had booked to stay at the Hafan Y Mor site for a week and spent over £800 to do this. We arrived there and the caravan on first glance was tiny and not what the pictures show on the website.

In the first hour, we found dust and stale crisps on the window sill, grime on the side of the dining table, crumbs in the cutlery drawer, little black hairs all over the bed linen, a sticky substance on one of the bedroom handles, grime from the floor pushed up into the corners etc. It was honestly vile.

We were also in a really rubbish location (I know that’s just a personal preference thing) so we rung the office and said we weren’t happy with the caravan and wanted to swap. They said they had no other caravans available as the site was fully booked, apart from one becoming available tomorrow on the same plot in a really rubbish location, so in light of this, we decided to leave in the morning. No one offered to come to clean the caravan.

Their website says: ‘We're proud of all our holiday homes and want them to be just right. So if you find any niggles when you arrive, please tell us so we can iron them out right away. If you're still not happy and choose to go home on the first day of your holiday, we'll give you a full refund’

What they don’t tell you is they have a cleanliness guarantee which our complaints do not cover. Here is a copy of the email I received: Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The issues you reported to the team at Hafan do not fall under the Havan Caravan Cleanliness Guarantee (HCCG). The HCCG applies to the following; a failure to adequately clean the oven, fridge or microwave; carpets not vacuumed; toilet, bathroom or shower not adequately cleaned; dirty guest linen; or unemptied bins. As such your complaint does not fall into any one of these categories. If you feel that one of these applies to your complaint, let me know and I can look into this further.

We’re in a global pandemic?!… I would expect the caravans to be spotless as I don’t think customers should be seeing any evidence of another person having lived there due to how contagious this thing actually but apparently, cos the bathroom and kitchen utilities were clean, that’s fine. How disgusting. Pandemic or not, it’s still gross.

So we’ve lost a lot of money and I’m just wanted to warn others who are thinking of going with Haven, not to. I certainly will never be going again. We’ve had problems before at other sites with cleanliness but we’ve been able to swap, we’ve certainly never felt the need to leave 19 hours into arriving.

Real concern about covid safety.

I visited the Haggerston site on 23rd June 2021 for a touring holiday to celebrate my granddaughter's birthday with my family. We booked the Mash and Barrel for that evening for 4pm and my daughter, grandson and myself had a meal. The food was not good, in fact it was tasteless. However, that being said, we were told that after eating we could take our drinks outside and there would be table service. Just before my son in law joined us, a lady left her dirty mask on the table next to us. The table was displaying a notice to say it had been cleaned and was safe to use. A waitress came out with some drinks to another table, then picked up the mask and placed it in the drinks tray she was carrying. She did not remove the sign or clean the table. The same waitress was asked by another family if they could order some drinks to which she replied no its my first day and walked away. Having worked in a hospitality setting myself, I couldn't believe that she hadn't been sufficiently trained to say , "no but I'll get someone to help". My son in law never did get a drink and we left just as a waiter was coming out to serve the other family.

My granddaughter's birthday was the next day 24th but I left that afternoon as I didn't feel safe to stay.

I have emailed Haven twice and not even had an acknowledgement. I've tried to ring but the usual covid excuses long waiting times for them to answer. If we are forced to have staycations as they call them, then we need to feel safe

45 mins to get starter . Plates sat on the table till main course came which is awkward to say the least . Food quality is below par . Young staff on minimum wage no doubt very understaffed and they take the front line criticism.

They ask to be paid upfront when taking your order which is outrageous but now I know why as your left feeling the need to endure the poor quality .

Don't bother even sitting down in thr place

Haven t had the experience recently, had holiday years ago which was fine but the ads these days totally put me off Those 2 girls in previous ad found freaky and the ‘ newest ‘ one well what does it tell you about haven ?

I can get on the app to book restaurants and entertainment for riviera sands Cornwall however after paying extra for stay and play I am only allowed one visit to the entertainment venue for the whole trip 😡expensive night 🤷‍♀️The government have lifted restrictions so why have haven not ... its a disgrace ,i also looked at activities on offer where you have to pay even more money such as sand art , archery etc so now let’s see how booking swimming goes next week I’m not holding my breath ..... they should name and shame companies that have abused Covid and let the customers speak with lack of future bookings because flights and holidays abroad will return

Have been twice this year and booked again. Easy site to use and plenty of choice.

Caravan stinkin bird poo all over windows an caravan an smelt so bad as you walked in!
Wouldnt let us book nothing or leave our 2 young kids swimming horrible staff never return!!! An we spent bomb for nothing 2 disappointed children!
