Sofa purchase
The salesman was polite and answered my questions.
The delivery men were polite but also bright and cheerful. Protected my flooring. Brought the sofa in. Put the seating and cushions etc on. Removed the wrapping. Kept me fully informed of the delivery time. Cannot fault the delivery service.

Very poor after sales service from Fishpools
I had previously had a bad experience with Fishpools but decided I would give them another chance. Last December I bought a bed and a sofa, a decision I now very much regret. The sofa was fine but from the beginning I had trouble with the bed. There appeared to be a ridge in the middle of the bed which forced me to sleep on the very edge. As it’s only a four foot bed, this was extremely uncomfortable.
The only advice Fishpools kept giving me was to turn and flip the mattress. This did no good whatsoever! It took them ten months to finally send out a technician. He did find a fault with the bed which he rectified. However, the problem was still there and he came again. It turned out to be a problem with the frame for the bed springs and it was resolved by pure luck.
I paid a great deal of money for this bed. At no time did Fishpools apologise for the problems I had experienced - ten months of sleepless and uncomfortable nights. Their after sales service is appalling, staff are very brusque and unhelpful. You are constantly made to feel as if you are the problem or you are imagining things.
I will never use Fishpools again and I advise anyone thinking of purchasing furniture from them to ensure there are no better options elsewhere.

Good service all round.

Inferior quality
I am very disappointed with the quality of the bedside table I purchased from Fishpools.
Following a very small accidental spill, the surface of the table immediately crinkled and deteriorated, almost as if it were made from paper. I reported the issue to Fishpools, who arranged for an engineer to inspect the table.
The engineer concluded that the damage was the result of household error and Fishpools therefore refused to accept responsibility.
I find this extremely disappointing. A bedside table is a piece of furniture that you would reasonably expect to withstand the occasional small spill, particularly when the spill is dealt with promptly. In my view, a surface that reacts in this way to such a minor amount of liquid raises serious questions about the quality and suitability of the product.
Importantly, I did not want a replacement. Given what had happened, I had no confidence that another identical table would be any better. I requested a refund because I no longer considered the product fit for purpose.
Fishpools have stood by their decision and refused to provide a refund. For the price paid, I expected a much better-quality and more durable product, and I am extremely disappointed with how my complaint has been handled.
