At Manchester airport
At Manchester airport. This is one of the biggest scams I have experienced in 20 years of hiring cars. We were left stranded at the airport for over an hour. Then they declared our booking was cancelled because we’re late. Paid many hundred pounds extra. Then a tiny scratch they claimed we made and had to pay 186 pounds more. The whole experience was for the company to maximise their profit. Staff were well versed in anticipating our difficulties, maximising their profit hidden costs and adding on the charges. A contractor for the van confirmed to us it is normal practice for many customers to be ripped off and he was well aware the company didn’t behave ethically. I have contacted the CEO, hr and the ESG manager for comment. It seemed the staff were trained to exploit customers

Our agent was called Ryan
Our agent was called Ryan. He was very friendly and efficient and made the hiring of the car very smooth. This can sometimes be quite pressurising for customers but Ryan made it go smoothly and I will definitely use Drivalia again.

I was charged £316 for a tiny scratch…
I was charged £316 for a tiny scratch on the rear passenger side. I had the car less than 48 hours & did not cause the scratch. It's not clear on the pre hire photos to see if it was already there. How they can justify that amount is horrendous in these times of cost of living. Once again the customer is being penalised while they rake in the money.

Terrible experience avoid if you can
Terrible experience, they changed me 286£ for a very small damage on the bumper, less than 2 milimeters.
They make me waiting 50 minutes before driving me back to the airport.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend
Definitely wouldn’t recommend, any extra money they can suck out of you they will. Always read the T&Cs as they aren’t clear for this reason, also tried telling me I had a pet in the car when I didn’t and charged me £250, set of vultures. Staff really rude and not helpful which adds to the poor company. Enterprise miles better and no hidden costs. Maybe it was just Manchester airport branch, but definitely avoid this one.

Terrible. Need a physical credit card with your full name not initials on the card. Otherwise incur extra costs, at least £40 per day of the rental. Aside from driving past me at the airport pick up point then lying to me that the bus was full. I saw the bus. It was not full.
