AVOID LIKE PLAGUE

I had a genuinely awful experience with U-Save in the UK.

I was quoted £200 for a 10-day rental and full insurance , which seemed reasonable. But at collection, I was hit with a £3000 deposit. The only way to reduce that was to take their insurance at around £70 per day, which is more than the cost of the car itself. They said the one i got during booking is third party and they do not accept.

They also charge extra just to get unlimited mileage, which feels completely unreasonable. It’s another add-on that isn’t clearly highlighted upfront, and it quickly turns what looks like a cheap deal into something far more expensive.

What’s most frustrating is how all of this is presented. The key details are buried in the terms and conditions or hidden behind a small link that’s easy to miss when booking. It’s not clear, not upfront, and not intuitive.

This feels like a setup to push customers into buying their insurance at the desk. That’s not transparent or honest pricing.

Practices like this need proper scrutiny. A corporate watchdog should be looking into this as a matter of urgency.

And it reflects badly on Booking.com for hosting listings like this.

Usave asked me to explain my experience and complain as they say I shouldn't pay for a service I haven't received.
Unfortunately as my booking has gone through a third party they just said they can't process a refund. I asked if they could to the third party but they didn't reply to my email.

SCAM

you ask me to be honest, but your company is the most unfair that i have experience in 40 years.i rented a car frome manchester airport. i was just handed over the key,and had to find myself car in the garage.Because of hurry did not check the car on demage. on my way back one of the employee showed me 3 smallest scratches on the rims, not even 1 centimeter. first of all i am 100 % sure its not caused by me, secondly they charge me 747 pounds. they offer the car very cheap, when you bring the car back they charge 5 times extra. i will never recomand somebody to rent by U-save and neither will i do again. By U-save is renting cheap is renting expensive.

Double check all requirements!

Booked a car for a holiday in Italy, but after reading all the negative reviews I emailed them to make sure which documents they need for the rental.

Turned out they don’t accept credit card with initials + full surname, only with full names. Well, in NL that’s not possible and therefore I had to cancel my booking because they would not accept my credit card, although my initials correspondent clearly to the names in my passport and driving license. Glad I double checked!

I have rented cars in many countries and never experiences something like this…

Purtroppo quando si viaggia possono capitare incomprensioni; Ognuno fa il proprio lavoro: magari è un fisico matematico ma non conosce perfettamente le condizioni di noleggio auto ; Ecco perchè ci si aspetta , un minimo di supporto ; se ho prenotato un auto a 101,00€ ed al mio arrivo per un problema di corrispondenza carta di credito/guidatore me ne vengono chiesti 390,00€ , purtroppo si chiama truffa ; Se poi mi si dice che acquistando con booking " funziona così " , vorrei specificare che la collaborazione con booking è bilaterale e richiede un contratto siglato da entrambe le parti ; Quindi , iscriversi a booking , utilizzandolo come specchietto per allodole , non mi pare corretto , e soprattutto rimarca tristemente certi pregiudizi radicati .

Comprendiamo quanto possa essere frustrante arrivare con una prenotazione confermata e ritrovarsi davanti a costi diversi da quelli attesi.

Desideriamo però chiarire un punto importante:
il requisito della carta di credito intestata al guidatore è parte delle Condizioni di Noleggio, e questa informazione viene regolarmente fornita anche a Booking.com. Tuttavia, non abbiamo alcun controllo su come tali informazioni vengono presentate o evidenziate sulla loro piattaforma, e questo talvolta può generare incomprensioni.

Siamo comunque dispiaciuti che la comunicazione non sia risultata chiara e che l’esperienza non abbia rispettato le sue aspettative. Il suo commento è stato condiviso con il management locale affinché venga verificato quanto accaduto e migliorata la trasparenza delle informazioni fornite ai clienti.

il front desk dell aeroporto ha persone bravissime. Ma la loro organizzazione di back office è pessima, non rispettano gli accordi e cercano di cambiare le tariffe in corso d'opera . Peccato

Des frais imprévus

Des frais imprévus : Le tarif initial proposé sur internet sur le site Car Jet était intéressant mais une fois arrivé au bureau pour récupérer la voiture, nous avons dû payer une assurance supplémentaire chère car nous n'avions qu'une carte de debit. Et dans ce cas, la caution ne nous sera remboursée que dans un mois! Cette voiture n'était pas celle commandée, bien plus grande que prévue donc une attention accrue pour ne pas l'accrocher. Heureusement pas de soucis de ce côté là, tout s'est bien passé.(voiture automatique propre et qui a bien fonctionné = points positifs). Par contre, nous avons à payer une contravention, et U-Save Car facture 68£ de frais administratifs payables sous 3 jours juste pour transférer l'avis de PV! Enfin depuis London Gatwick Airport , il faut emprunter une navette (gratuite) pour se rendre à l'agence, navette que nous avons dû attendre plus de 20 min.
Nous ne renouvellerons pas l'expérience, ni avec U-Save Car Rental ni avec Car Jet

Pour clarifier : l’utilisation d’une carte de débit implique des conditions spécifiques, notamment l’obligation de souscrire une assurance supplémentaire et un délai plus long pour le remboursement de la caution. Ces informations figurent dans les Conditions de Location et sont également transmises à CarJet, mais nous n’avons malheureusement aucun contrôle sur la manière dont ces informations sont affichées ou mises en avant sur leur site, ce qui peut parfois entraîner des malentendus.

Nous sommes toutefois heureux de savoir que le véhicule était propre, automatique et a bien fonctionné pendant votre séjour. Concernant les frais administratifs liés à la contravention, ils correspondent au traitement obligatoire du dossier et au transfert des informations aux autorités locales.

Enfin, nous comprenons que l’attente de la navette à Gatwick ait été frustrante. Votre commentaire a été transmis à l’équipe locale afin d’améliorer la fréquence et la coordination du service.

Nous regrettons que votre expérience n’ait pas été satisfaisante et vous remercions d’avoir pris le temps de nous en informer. Vos retours nous aident à améliorer nos services.

Terrible terrible customer service

Terrible terrible customer service. We caused a minor damag on the car during our rental time (flat tire after hitting a pot hole) And the afterwards process incl. refunding and paymen of fees was (and still is at this moment) an absolute nightmare. Customer service ignores most messages and is most of the time not available
