My order keeps getting delayed
Two weeks ago I ordered a screen and a keyboard, upon a colleague's recommendation. At the time of ordering, the Dell website stated I would receive my order the following working day. To date, I have yet to receive the screen and keyboard. I keep getting emails from Dell announcing that my order is delayed, and nothing from the courier. I complained with Dell customer service, and instead they sent me an email asking if I wanted a replacement (to what, exactly? An order I didn't receive??) or a refund. I want my order, I need a screen and a keyboard! Why is it so difficult for a company that literally makes and sells screens and keyboards??? Appalling, I wish I could give negative stars.
Short staffing in the Dell customer…
Short staffing in the Dell customer service is making it the worst customer service I have come across.
The staff are generally fine, except that one cannot speak to anyone as the phone options are limited once the telephone answers the call. NO options to speak to customer service. Zero facilities.
I'm extremely disappointed.
I'm extremely disappointed with my recent online shopping experience. I placed an order for a laptop battery on January 18th, but to date, there's been a deafening silence - no updates, no shipping notifications, just a static 'processing' status for over five days. To make matters worse, my attempts to reach out to the customer support team were met with automated responses from an online bot, leaving me feeling frustrated and stuck in limbo.

I spent 2 hours on a phone call with a Service Agent, that I could barely understand, who kept leaving the call to seek further advice, after which she was unable to resolve my problem and booked me a call back for 9am the following day.
The call back NEVER happened. I am writing this on Thursday and the call should have been Tuesday. The have my contact details and did not have the common courtesy to emial or call me to say their was a delay, and have still not called or emailed to apologise for their ineptitude.
I will not be renewing my Service Agreement with them.
I have been trying to get through to…
I have been trying to get through to speak to a real person on Dell Support for months and all I get are chat bots, useless phone alternatives or speak to an online technician for a one off payment of £1.00 and then you are automatically subscibed to a £35.00 charge per month even though you do not want or need it. I have a Premium Support Warranty which covers the issues I am having. I SHOULD be able to get a technician to come to the home to sort this out - over heating and keyboard issues. But I can NOT get anything but attempts to online test and this offer of a £1.00 payment for an online technician which takes you into an unwanted or needed subscription of £35.00 per month, indefinitely. It is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE and RIP OFF from a company I have always used and now my Warranty expires in three days and they expect me to renew it for more of the same - NOTHING !! I do NOT recommend DELL at all now and as the legal eagles say, 'CAVEAT EMPTOR' !!! Shame on you DELL (UK). Absolute SHAME. I want a technician to come to my home and sort this out or YOU are in BREACH OF CONTRACT ! I am in N. Ireland (UK) - Londonderry. Kevin Kelly my name. I do not think I can use a phone or email address here. I see from the Stars - that you have absolutely plummetted as far as any reputation goes.
Cancelled Orders
Like many reviews on Trustpilot, I also want to award Dell zero stars. Yesterday, I placed an order for a laptop on the Dell Outlet UK website. A few hours later it was cancelled by Dell. I didn't receive any comms from Dell to explain the reason for the cancellation. I assumed that the laptop I wanted to purchase had been purchased by someone else. That's the risk when using the Outlet site.
Later in the day, I noticed that the same laptop was available again. The Outlet site lists the Dell Tag number for a device and this was the same as my earlier order. I then placed a second order for the same laptop. Again, placing the order was easy and acknowledgement received that the order had been placed.
This morning, the order had been cancelled and the same laptop was available yet again. I thought I'd try again but use a different payment method. Placing the order was a success and acknowledgement email received within a few minutes.
About 4 hours later, the order was cancelled again. I now have three cancelled orders with payment for all three laptops being received by Dell. The site states that cancelled orders will be refunded within 7 business days. Fingers crossed this happens.
I have received zero communication from Dell explaining why they cancelled all three orders. I tried the chatbot and that is useless. You can use chat during business hours to actually converse with a real person, but they are as helpful at the chatbot.
I have used Dell devices for about 15 years, with my last purchase being about 4 years ago. Dell seems to have had a dramatic downturn in their level of customer service since my last order. You can see that from the Trustpilot scores across many countries. Clearly the customer is unimportant.
It's time to switch manufacturers.
Reliable products, but disorganised and contradictory customer support
I have valued Dell Technologies for many years due to the long-standing reliability and quality of their devices, which is why I chose Dell again for a business laptop. Unfortunately, my recent experience with Dell’s customer support has been highly disappointing.
I reported a fault on a new XPS laptop shortly after delivery and requested a like-for-like exchange, not a refund. Dell approved the exchange in writing in December, issued a replacement specification, and confirmed that the replacement would proceed once the faulty unit was returned.
From that point onwards, the process became extremely disorganised. I experienced repeated administrative errors, including invalid return labels, incorrect DHL instructions, and Dell’s systems incorrectly marking the laptop as “collected” when it was still with me. These delays were entirely procedural and on Dell’s side.
On 9 January, Dell confirmed that the system had been updated as collected and that the exchange would proceed, with order details to follow. However, an earlier email that same day incorrectly referred to a refund process instead. I had to challenge this and point Dell back to their own “System Exchange” case and written approvals. After I raised this, Dell again confirmed that the exchange would proceed.
I am now awaiting the exchange order details that Dell confirmed would follow.
This level of contradictory communication, lack of ownership, and failure to track key details is particularly concerning given that this is a business-grade laptop, where continuity, clarity, and reliability of support really matter. While I continue to value Dell’s products, the customer support experience in this case has not matched the standard I would expect.
I hope Dell’s customer care team reviews this case properly and completes the approved exchange.
The worst customer service I have…
The worst customer service I have experienced in a long time.
No communication with the customer when there are issues with an order. They promise repeatedly to call you back but they repeatedly never do. I spent multiple hours on the phone with them to try to resolve the problem. Approximately 20 calls being bounced from one person to another and each time having to start the story from the beginning.
They put me in a very bad situation because I could have got alternative laptops from somewhere else during the sales period, but because they kept stringing me along, I missed out on the alternatives and I was unable to make decisions about alternatives because they kept stringing me along for a month not know what the situation was. Meanwhile, my son has his GCSE exams to prepare and this impacted him. This is a company that I cannot rely on.
Why won't you just unsubscribe me?
Nearly a year after buying a Dell laptop I am still bombarded with emails from Dell, despite numerous attempts to unsubscribe. I don't want your crappy rewards programme, I don't want your marketing, I don't want surveys about my laptop - I WANT NOTHING FROM YOU. I am clearly unsubscribed from everything on my account, but it doesn't work. I have now submitted a request for you to delete all of my data, but I have zero confidence that you will fulfil my simple request. Clearly this is a big marketing scam, but I wouldn't buy anything from you ever again so please just go away. I have never seen anything close to this from any organisation ever.
Ordered a refurbished Alienware laptop…
Ordered a refurbished Alienware laptop on December 18th get an estimated delivery for January 6th. After being told it arrived in the local depot I get no updates for 4 days then get an email this morning telling me they will now deliver it tomorrow (7th) sometime between 8am and 6pm and someone needs to be home and this can’t be changed..useless to me as I’m not home I call them and all they do is automatically redirect to their website which then doesn’t work when I login. Useless customer service and delivery I wouldn’t buy from them again.

I had an issue with the hinge on my laptop. Since it was 8 months old and out of the time frame for the store warranty, I contacted Dell customer service to review my options. They immediately put me in touch with their repair department. I was sent a prepaid shipping box within two days to send my computer to their repair site. They received the computer, fixed it in a day, and shipped it immediately back to me. It works perfect. The entire process took only a week, which was a true blessing as I am in the middle of a master's program and use my laptop daily. Thank you Dell!

Order from IBM. Avoid this company like the plague. Seriously avoid. You will get scammed
DELL Worst service ever!
Worst service ever!
I ordered a laptop on 2 December 2025. Dell nominated DHL for delivery, and the laptop was scheduled to arrive on 16 December 2025. DHL repeatedly failed to respond regarding the delivery.
However, when I logged into my Dell account, it showed that the laptop had been delivered on 22 December 2025, even though I never received it. Dell’s management handled this very poorly—they did not verify whether the customer actually received the laptop, nor did they request proof of delivery, such as DHL photo records or customer confirmation.
I contacted Dell Customer Service and was told they would check with DHL, but I received no follow-up or updates. I contacted Dell Customer Service again on 29 December 2025 to request a refund.
Due to this unacceptable experience, I cancelled the order. This disappointing experience wasted a significant amount of my time trying to trace the missing laptop and caused me to miss the opportunity to present a Christmas gift.
Stay away from Dell
I feel completely cheated by Dell. I purchased this laptop for basic, light use—maybe a few hours a week. Since taking it out of the box, it has been an exercise in pure frustration.
I have switched this laptop on no more than 50 times. I wish that were an exaggeration. And I can say with certainty that on **over half of those occasions**, I am greeted not by my desktop, but by a forced Windows update screen. These updates are not quick; they frequently take 30 to 40 minutes, completely destroying my workflow or planned downtime. I just want to quickly check something or do a simple task, but Dell and Windows have other plans.
It's as if I don't own the machine—it's on a lease from the update server. The "out of the box" experience never ended.
When I reached out to Dell support, hoping for a solution or at least some accountability, I was met with indifference. They refused to offer any meaningful assistance, blaming Windows (which they shipped the machine with) and leaving me stranded. Their attitude made it clear: once they have your money, you're on your own.
For the price I paid, I expected a tool that works for me, not a device that demands 40 minutes of my life every time I need it. This laptop is essentially new, but it's already a useless brick of disappointment.
Save your hard-earned money. I feel utterly robbed, both by the product and by Dell's complete lack of customer care.
Awful customer support
Within 10months of purchase, laptop charging port damaged. Working through the maze of customer support, they decided to change the motherboard only. Awful customer service experience, almost impossible to speak to someone.
Awful service!
Awful service!!
Monitor meant to arrive 23rd December, hadn’t even been processed!! To be told that parts were missing and delivery would be after Christmas.
I cancelled the order, bought through Curry’s who delivered next day!
Misleading delivery promises before checkout
Dell’s checkout stated that if I ordered immediately, delivery would be 24 December before 2pm Based on that information, I placed the order.
After purchase, the delivery changed to 29 December via UPS, which is a significant difference and not acceptable given the time-sensitive nature of the order.
This kind of delivery messaging is misleading at the point of purchase. If the stated delivery date cannot be honoured, it should not be shown as an option during checkout.
I will cancel the order as a result. I would advise others to be cautious and not rely on Dell’s delivery promises when ordering close to deadlines.
Bought a 5k Alienware rig about 3 weeks…
Bought a 5k Alienware rig about 3 weeks ago. Delivery has been a shambles, delayed, retracted, moved back, informed it was lost - then informed it was found and would be delivered next day (it wasn’t). 4 different delivery dates all been and gone, dell customer service all computers and everything f you do get through to anyone it’s certainly not uk based, and they fob you off with lies. Going to cancel my order and shop elsewhere. I’ve been a dell customer for many years and many products. They’ve finally lost the plot, and lost a repeat customer. Shambolic and such a shame for what was once a great company.
The story of a simple purchase.
The story of a simple purchase.
After many years with an HP computer, I decided to change. Hours of study, comparing like for like, price for price and reading numerous reviews, I said to my wife “we are having a change, I’m getting a Dell computer”
Building my PC was easy, placing the order and paying all nice and quick. The order placed on Friday November 28th 2025, and the estimated delivery date 2nd December, full tracking, very pleased with that.
Monday 1st Dec, tracking shows it’s dispatched and on its way, later I get a message from saying they have the parcel.
Tuesday 2nd Dec:- I received a text saying it was being loaded for delivery, unfortunately I wasn't able to accept it that day, signature required, so using the online link I changed the delivery to the 3rd Dec. Thinking this was easier for me, and what could go wrong. Was I in for a surprise, the 3rd came and went, all I got was a message saying it had been delayed.
I try phoning, messaging and email, complete waste of time, automated calls and a standard email saying they will look into it, here’s your reference number.
Expecting delivery on the 4th, I watch the tracking, not a single scan on my item, thinking the worst, has it been lost or stolen, where has it gone, I find another phone number and get through to the Coventry centre, 50 minutes later, I ask “have you still got it , is it lost and why hasn’t it been scanned today” they have to email the local depot and the depot has 2 hours to respond to them, she promises to call me back. She calls me back, only to tell me that the parcel has been delayed due to “lack of drivers” which is obviously not my problem, she then says that it will be put out for delivery the next day.
5th Dec, I watch the tracking, hoping it will be loaded for delivery, but nothing, I try to call, but can’t get through. About 12:35 I look again, it has been loaded, I look again at about 1pm, its drop 302, my thought is that there's no way that's happening. I check about 6pm, the driver is on drop 230, and at 7:30 drop 265, and that was his last drop, and that's where the tracking stops.
6th Dec, I tried calling again, a waste of time, so I decided to drive to the depot in Crawley. When I arrived there were other people already there, and as I walked into the collection area, you could feel the tension. There was one young lady at the collection desk, clearly stressed and under pressure, she took some consignment numbers and disappeared into the warehouse, she came back with one parcel and one customer left, very unhappy after waiting some time while they found it, this was ongoing for most of the others too, she came came back almost in tears several times, it was chaos. The queue was now building and she took my number and three others, returning 10 or 15 minutes later with just one parcel, mine, I thanked her and left, but by now she's holding back the tears again. During this time there were several office staff walking by and ignoring the situation, and no attempt to help.
I worked in the courier industry for several years as a supervisor and manager, if there was a problem we all helped each other and put our customer first, I have never witnessed such a disaster as this before, and for this reason I wouldn't recommend buying your product for delivery to any of my colleagues, friends or acquaintances.
As a business you need to look at your choice of courier. DHL does not have a signature for the delivery, nor do they have a clue when it was delivered or collected.
I will not be ordering from Dell.
One star is too generous
Our experience of trying to buy a monitor from dell has been beyond a joke. My husband initially placed an order on the 4th December, it was shipped promptly but damaged at the delivery depot and not delivered. Trying to sort a replacement was like pulling teeth, after daily calls for 2 weeks a replacement order was finally put through but the delivery date was after Christmas 🤯
I then placed a second order on the 18th for delivery on or before the 23rd December, on the 20th I received an email stating there was a delay and my expected delivery date is now the 23rd of January 2026! However I can add the item to my bag now and it is still showing delivery to my postcode on the 23rd of December. Absolutely ridiculous service and even worse customer service. Would not recommend ordering with dell.
