**AVOID THIS GARAGE!**
**AVOID THIS GARAGE!**
We bought a car from this garage in **February 2026** for **£3,995**, and it's been nothing but problems.
When we collected the car, the new wing mirror they had promised hadn't been fitted. As we'd travelled 60 miles to collect it, they agreed to post it to us. It's now **July**, and despite numerous phone calls and messages, we've still not received it. Every message has either been ignored or we've been fobbed off with excuses such as, *"You've got the wrong garage."*
Unfortunately, that's only the beginning.
In **March**, we discovered both front tyres had worn down to the cords on the inside. A local garage found a suspension fault that needed repairing before new tyres could be fitted. This cost us **£300** for the repair, plus **£120** for two new tyres.
Then, in **May**, the water pump failed, resulting in another **£500** repair bill. The garage that carried out the work told us the car had clearly been patched up just enough to sell.
We've spent hundreds of pounds fixing faults that should never have been present on a car sold by a dealer, and the complete lack of customer service has made the experience even worse.
I would strongly advise anyone considering buying a car from this garage to look elsewhere. In our experience, they've been completely unhelpful after the sale, and we feel badly let down.
We bought a Peugeot 208 from…
We bought a Peugeot 208 from Cleckheaton Motor Sales with a one-month engine warranty.
Within two days, the engine management light came on. We took the car back and were simply told it had been fixed after the warning light was cleared. No proper explanation or diagnosis of the underlying issue was provided.
The light returned shortly afterwards. This time we were told it was "just the catalytic converter" and that it needed cleaning. We ended up replacing the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors at our own expense, costing over £500, but the problems continued.
When we returned the car again, we were told the 30-day warranty had expired, so they would not help further. Now, just a couple of months later, the engine has completely failed. We believe the dealership was aware of a more serious underlying fault from the outset but chose not to address it or be transparent about it.
As a result, we are facing losses of more than £4,500. Based on our experience, I would strongly discourage anyone from buying a vehicle from this dealership.
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE
Bought my car 1 year ago, paid around £300 for the extended warranty. Was ignored over and over again and have had so many issues: front exhaust replacement, air con system failure, 2x suspension coils replaced and now need a new clutch.
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE, IT’S NOT WORTH IT.

Given one star because I have to give…
Given one star because I have to give something. Bought a car, £5000 back in January. Within 6 weeks engine management light came signalling egr valve fault. £1300 to replace. Despite being well within consumer rights, they refused to do anything about it and even threatened extra expenses on top if I pursued it. Now 5 months later the clutch, flywheel and timing chain has failed, with only 50000 miles. Would not recommend these cowboys to anyone. Steer clear
Avoid this dealership!
I purchased a 2014 Renault Captur from Cleckheaton Motor Services in January 2026 for £3,995 and also purchased an extended warranty.
Three months later, the car started making a worrying knocking/rattling noise, so I looked to contact my warranty company, and I discovered the warranty provider had gone into liquidation. It took several days of phone calls, texts and emails before I was able to speak to someone at the dealership. During that conversation, I mentioned my car issue and I was told there was little they could do in regards to the warranty as it wasn't their issue. He said I could purchase a new warranty at cost price, which I declined and instead he offered 3 months free. When I questioned that I paid £350 for a warranty with a cost price of roughly £150 the offer was increased to 6 months free warranty, but was told I wouldn’t be able to do anything about the issue with my car as the warranty was set up after the issue developed. The dealer offered no help with this issue whatsoever.
Within around three months of purchase, and after approximately 4,600 miles of use, the vehicle then failed its MOT on several steering and suspension defects, including excessive play in both front track rod ends. The repairs required to obtain an MOT pass cost around £700. During the repairs I also incurred additional costs because the locking wheel nut key was missing and the locking wheel nuts had to be removed and replaced.
I contacted the dealership seeking assistance under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. My concern was not about the warranty, but whether faults of this nature should have arisen so soon after purchase.
Unfortunately, the dealership's position was that the vehicle was out of warranty and that the issues were wear and tear items, and no contribution towards the repairs was offered.
I appreciate that this was a 12-year-old used vehicle and that maintenance is part of vehicle ownership. My disappointment is not so much with the faults themselves, but with how the concerns were handled and the lack of willingness to discuss a reasonable contribution towards the repair costs for a car I’ve owned for 3 months.
I have spoken to Citizens' Advice throughout and they have suggested I now escalate this, and they have passed the issue onto Trading Standards. I would suggest avoiding this dealership completely.
Bought a Ford KA for my daughter did…
Bought a Ford KA for my daughter did the usual checks and thought yeah it was ok for the age, got it home after exhaust when on the motorway which petrified my daughter as a new driver. Got the car home took it to a reliable local garage and he had a good look at it for us, and gave us a list of works over £800 that needed to be done, which actually matched the list of previous mot failures which we where reassured had been done. (They have someone or do dodgy mots themselves very sneaky)So we took the car back, the guy at the garage tried to be funny with my wife and daughter and became very threatening until my wife mentioned trading standards. Luckily we bought the car on a credit card which gave us some protection as we can stop fees and report companies for poor products and services, after my wife stood up to him and showed that she wouldn’t be bullied he took the car back and gave her a full refund. We were lucky, but this guy and his garage are con men of the highest calibre, unfortunately people like this just feed like parasites of decent hard working people. Avoid at all costs, and be careful as this guy likes to threaten women and teenaged girls, big man ! but not very bright, the positive reviews of this company are employees and if you look and have dealt with people at the garage you’ll see there names or initials on the reviews trying to get there rating up ! Come on please, clean your act up !

I have just bought a Vauxhall Astra from Cleckheaton motor sales, I couldn’t be happier, service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, they were quick and efficient getting the car ready for collecting and they were happy to have my garage check it out for me, who said it was a tidy car and all good , I feel confident in saying if you are wanting a used vehicle and good service , give them a try 👍

Avoid this place
Avoid this place. I bought a car that has nothing but problems, and to make it worse, I still haven't received the log book or any service history. They are very unhelpful once they have your money. Do not recommend
No great
Bought a car 8 weeks ago still not received a log book as apparently they do things old school and post at the end of the month , simple click of a button online it's sorted now I will have to apply, don't really get a good customer experience just everything rushed .
So i went too look a car decided i…
So i went too look a car decided i liked it bought after a test drive everything seemed well, got to work went to wash the windows they didnt work so called them up they said to bring it back said they would have a while so the part could come in, i didnt understand why they needed to keep it while they waited any way went out to start the car it was raining at the time went to turn the wipers on they no longer worke either. At this point i wasnt happy wanted to give the car back, so after i called someone else to follow me on so i could get back home i then went to take the car back and its wouldnt start the key just wouldnt turn i tried both keys had to then go get another key so at this point it had closed so had to try again the next day on a closer look both the keys were well worn down and still struggled to get the key to start the car.
So took it back the next day they were happy to give the refund (having to wait up to 10 days) there was also a brake light out plus a clonking noise told them about this asked to be refunded for the keys to be told oh thats not something we would give one for, so we took the key back and started to take it apart saying we will just get rif of it then (just the mental part) he soon said oh we can give cash for it they also gave a refund for the petrol i put in it as well.
Upon looking at reviews im not hopeful i will get a refund reading reviews and hearing horror stories about the place.
The lady who dealt with us was lovely no issues at all with her she gave some infomation that i had asked for the guy that showed me car was also lovely its just a shame the mot is more than like a rubbish one if your buying a car from here i would say take it stright to a proper machanic just too make sure its legit.
Im now left with out a car and having to wait to get anouth one till i get a refund for that one.
The car was a ford fiesta PF15TWU.
AVOID 💯% Absolutely should be shut…
AVOID 💯% Absolutely should be shut down. Do not go in never mind buy a car. They buy from auctions make them shiny and sell them. Please check all reviews or you will be going through small claims courts and motor ombudsman. They deny knowing there cars are faulty and some not road worthy
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
I bought a 2015 plate Ford Ka on the 10th January 2026 with an MOT that was clear with no advisories on 22/12/2025.
When I collected the car, I noticed a ticking sound just as I started the engine but didnt really think much of it. I immediately filled the car with a full tank of petrol on my way home too.
The ticking continued every time I started the car until it failed to start just 13 days after I had collected it. Turns out the clicking sound was the battery going so I had to replace that at a cost of £177!!
The second problem was the fuel consumption - I was on empty only 17 days after I'd filled it up! I might add I'd only done short journeys and hadn't actually driven the car every day in those 17 days so how was a full tank of fuel gone already!! I could smell a faint whiff of petrol inside the car when I drove too (not always, just every now & then).
I had to wonder - How the hell has this car just passed an MOT with not a single advisory when there's clearly an issue with the fuel.
I decided to do more research on the dealer and found loads of bad reviews and also a dedicated Facebook page because of how bad they are.
They are known for fudging through MOT's and selling potentially unsafe vehicles.
I hadn't bought a car in a very long time so I guess it was my fault I trusted them. They seem legit and the showroom is quite large with loads of cars to choose from. I thought I was in good hands.
I decided to call Citizens Advice Bureau for some advice and they told me that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I was entitled to return the car to the dealer and reject it and request a full refund.
I drafted a letter detailing all faults and sent them a copy via text message (the only way to contact them), and then returned the car with a hard copy of the letter and requested a refund.
I had to wait an hour for a manager to turn up (just fabulous customer service), before we engaged in a heated argument and him trying to bully me into taking the car away. I stood my ground as I knew I was able to request a refund as I was in my 30 days since purchase period.
After some huffing and puffing, the manager asked a member of his team to issue me a refund.
I might add, the deposit for the car was paid on 19/12/2025, the dealer closed for Christmas and I was told I could collect my car in the new year when they reopened. I called on three occasions to ask when I could collect the car as they hadn't called me and I knew it had been MOT'd. I was lied to and told it was still at the garage where it had been MOT'd however when I went to collect it on the 10th January, it was in the dealers showroom up for sale.....! So I'd been waiting all that time and they didn't seem to know what was going on or where the car was.
I should have just walked away or better yet, never gone there in the first place.
Best believe when I buy my next car, I will do my research.
I've never known such poor customer service. I'm just glad I was within my 30 days and I got my money back. Even if I had to go through a back and fourth pointless conversation to do so. I've had a lucky escape.
My new found Facebook supporters had my back all the way as some of them have been sadly scammed by Cleckheaton Motor Sales.
My advice to anyone who wants to go here.....DON'T! PLEASE AVOID THEM. They just want your money and will do nothing to help you if anything goes wrong.
Basic failure
Bought a 2009 car in great condition bodywork and interior, for a fair price. A 12 month MOT with only one advisory was provided. No service history or pre-sale service done. On using the windscreen wipers for the first time the next day, I found the rubber on them ripped and they weren't clearing rain. A clear MOT failure. Made me wonder what work had actually been done on the MOT. Should not have left the garage in that condition. Had to replace them straightaway. The garage ignored my email about this.
Great service from friendly…
Great service from friendly professional staff. Made buying my car a real pleasure.
Absolutely very disappointed with this…
Absolutely very disappointed with this delearship. I bought a car in July 2025 hyundai i20se 1.2 2015 but wasn’t able to drive it properly until September due to insurance issue. After starting regular use, the check engine light came on in 3rd day. The mechanic found that the oxygen sensor was damaged, causing the car to produce black smoke, and there was an issue with the clutch, which was juddering at the biting point.
I was quoted £700 for repairs, including labor. When I contacted the dealership, they said 28 days had passed and they couldn’t help, which was very frustrating. Even after paying for the repairs, I’m still experiencing noise and clutch judder. I would not recommend this dealership
Avoid at all costs ! All these bad reviews can't be wrong
Avoid at all costs !! You have been warned
Bought a Ford eco sport which broke down on the motorway 1 week after purchase called CMS (Cleckheaton motor sales ) they said get it towed back to us and we will sort it after 2 weeks of no update despite calling every other day called on the Friday morning they said it is still in the yard only to have a call 5 mins later saying it's all sorted !! Picked car up from them and on the way back home the car broke down again on the same thing engine malfunction and no power went straight back where it is still there now after just other a week and it still have been seen to

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE
Ford kuga
Been a few times here looking for a second car for me new job.
I walked in with my family and a member of staff said hello I love this as it’s not pushy. I asked if I could have a look around and they went yes and if I have any questions give me a shout. The staff were extremely helpful and they were very friendly.
Over 2 visits I test drive 4’cars ( 2 the same one) no questions asked they moved the cars got it out said if you go.
The car I bought I had seen a few others like it but this for its age was the best on for bodywork and mileage.
They put a new 12 month mot on the car and held the car for me while I went aboard.
I’ve had the car 3 weeks and the only issue I’ve had is the boot struct are on there way out so I’ve got two choices go through the extended warranty or just buy them for £45 and fit them myself.
Just want to say thank you and I’ve recommended you to friends and family members.
