More than a month in advance we rented a 7-seater van in Malta through check24.
When we went to pick it up, they told us that it had had an accident that morning and was not available. The funny thing is that another group that was just before us was told the same thing: all the vans had accidents? Or did they not exist?
Not only did we have to find a solution on our own, in a foreign country, wasting time and more expensively, but it took more than 2 months (after several claims and lies) to return our money (of course without any compensation).

Terrible company. They scam you! Charge for petrol twice! Charge por AirPort. Very bad manners!!!!!

The office clerk was super unpleasant! When speaking he mixed English with Italian and it was not understood well. He made us pay extra insurance while he scolded my wife and me for paying him quickly, we asked him for a moment to think and with a hard face, he began to eat a sandwich in a bad manner while making expressions in Italian so that we wouldn't understand him. . The experience was very unpleasant. The car was the oldest I have ever rented, it had broken seats, water came in through the back, broken buttons and the clerk who handed out the keys was also very unpleasant.

Really poor service. Scammed into buying extra insurance even though I have my own rental excess insurance. Forced to pre-pay for a half a tank of fuel which is charged at €40 this is excessive for the size of car I rented for a couple of days. Extremely rude staff and car was damaged all over. AVOID

The car we rented was in very poor condition, both mechanically and in terms of maintenance. Surprise fees charged when picking up the car, even though it was not mentionned in the reservation.

All of the above companies are the same but go by different names.

I had pre booked for a weeks rental for £30 which seemed like a good deal. Upon pickup I was then charged additional;
£100 Tax & a location fee and x2 ‘out of office hours’ fee (although flight times were given at time of booking)!
£89 for insurance!
£261 again for insurance which apparently I will be refunded.

A £30 rental has turned into £219 plus an additional £261 which I may get back.

This company is a scam. The car was dirty on the inside. Do not use.

Got an online quote for a car rental with KWL late August / early September.
total cost for the rental duration (around 8 days) was 90 ish Euros - 16 paid upfront. So far so good.
Upon collection, i was charged a location fee of 25€, when in the terms and conditions clearly stated no additional airport fees would be charged.
Flight number was provided at the time of booking, and around 4 hours earlier they messaged me via whatsapp to confirm flight number. When questioned on pick up about this charge, it was stated it was part of the terms and conditions, and that i could go and check - next to me, was another couple arguing some of these fees, and threatened that cancelling would now be even higher than the fee.
Fuel!..their policy stated that the car is provided with half a tank's fuel, and can be returned empty. what its not mentioned is that fuel costs 1.34€ / litre, and they charge 2.4€ / litre, as we were charged 48€ for 20 Litres of fuel.
on top of this, another 4.8€ of tax of some sort is also charged!
All in all, the quote is made to look like is really good deal, so they can rip you off afterwards

After contacting the customer support about these fees, the location fee was what they claimed, because i was late! i was not late, the flight arrived on time (as it can be seen on history for flights online).

note: if you need to use the credit card for the deposit, and to use another card for the remaining balance to be paid, there is also another fee for that!

Pessimo. Noleggiato un auto a Malta e una volta arrivato al noleggio, naturalmente con Vaucher di prenotazione alla mano, ci hanno detto che se volevamo prendere la macchina c'erano da aggiungere delle spese, Obbligatorie, che sulla prenotazione non erano presenti. Fatto contestazione etc. Ma nessuno ha risolto il problema. Quindi ci sono stati detratti dei soldi non giustificati. Pessima esperienza. Bps da la colpa al noleggiatore citygorentals e il noleggiatore a Bps ma a noi non torna nulla. citygorentals maleducati e disonesti. Non ci sono parole. Evitate

The worst company I have ever dealt with

They scam people. The director has seven companies in different names in which they are just ripping off People. Stick to the bigger companies like hertz and enterprise. Will be making a claim against this company.

Una vera e propria truffa legalizzata e nessuno fa niente per fermarli. Ho fatto una prenotazione che dovevo pagare all'arrivo 126 euro e me ne hanno chiesti 233 da pagare sulla stessa carta dove si tenevano la cauzione da 1800€ così ho superato la capienza della carta e sti disonesti, fanno apposta non accettare pagamenti con altre carte, ma ancora più subdoli ti fanno se vuoi un prestito-cauzione di 25 euro circa giornalieri e quando torni dal noleggio non si sa come li avrei dovuti pagare. Li ho mandati a quel paese rimettendoci l'acconto e sono stato felicissimo di andare dalla concorrenza Sicilybycar i quali sono stati onestissimi con soli 200 euro di franchigia e pagato 210 per 7 giorni con garanzia all risk consegna e restituzione con metà serbatoio, nessun trucco nessun inganno. Attenti quindi alle offerte perchè costano molto care.

Vergognoso è dir poco..ho fatto la carta di credito proprio pee poter depositare le 1500 euro che chiedono come deposito...il limite della mia carta di credito è di 1600 euro ..quindi ero tranquillo,fino al momento che si sono inventati le 50 euro di metà serbatoio di gasolio,25 euro di tasse aeroportuali ...compreso la parte rimanente che dovevo dare io per il noleggio ,superavo la soglia dei 1600..allora io ho detto,ma per la benzina le tasse aeroportuali e il rimanente del noleggio pago con carta di debito,ho fatto la carta di credito solo per il deposito delle 1500 euro..niente, ha insistito che non potevo utilizzare due tipi di carte,che è esplicito nel sito car jet...quindi ha LETTERALMENTE RUBATO 144 EURO ,questo per poter effettuare il deposito cauzionale di 300 euro e non 1500 ma con carta di debito..il pagamento non è andato a buon fine delle 300 euro cauzionale perché ha superato la soglia dei 600 euro giornalieri della carta di debito, e li ha tirato fuori dal cilindro il coniglio...HAI UN ALTRA CARTA DI DEBITO?MA allora grandissima ladra e stupida e maleducata,si può utilizzare una seconda carta ?Detto questo non credo che serve aggiungere altro...defraudato di 144 euro,più le 50 di gasolio...e le 25 di tasse aeroportuali non menzionate da nessuna parte...costo totale in più di 210 euro passate ..VERGOGNATEVI...MAI PIU,STATE ALLA LARGA...le recinsioni non mentono...se hanno una stella risicata,un motivo ci sarà.

E’ vero che bisogna sempre leggere l’informativa prima di accettare, ma dopo la prenotazione ingannevole dal loro sito in cui ti chiedono 15 euro per il noleggio di 3 giorni, scopri in ufficio che c’è da aggiungere 20 euro per tasse aeroportuali, 20 euro se arrivi in un giorno festivo (e come facciamo a saperlo?), più 40 euro per il carburante anticipato indipendente da quanto ce ne sia nel serbatoio. E poi ti dicono che ti bloccano 1500 euro sulla carta per 15-30 giorni lavorativi…altrimenti paghi altri 75 euro subito per avere una cauzione di soli 300 euro. Insomma un furto a tutti gli effetti. Metterei zero stelle e ci aggiungerei pure una denuncia se non fosse che la maggior parte delle cose avrei dovuto leggerle prima di prenotare. Quindi…leggete bene prima di prenotare qui…

Scam company. I would give ZERO rating if it would be possible.

Paid for car rental in advance with the invoice stating €66 should be paid when collecting the vehicle. During the collection agent added €25 to the location fee and €24.50 in tax. Both amounts were not declared in the final invoice therefore I challenged an agent who became rude. Another thing is an unfair fuel policy. The policy states: receive half tank, return empty charging €48.5. Considering actual prices they charge almost double per litre and it is impossible to return a car with an empty tank.

These are financial issues. Now it is time for a car:
We booked a Ford Focus and received a Renault Megane - fair enough however the AC didn’t work (it seems no one is inspecting the car to ensure everything is working as it is supposed to). Had to return the car the day after - losing my time and fuel without any compensation. We have been offered a Peugeot 107 instead which is a substandard car comparing to what it has been ordered. After rejecting 107, Skoda Fabia has been offered which is still substandard comparing to ordered Ford Focus. No refund has been issued to compensate a substandard car. The car had squaky brakes, rear tyres worn to legal limit and failure of Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor. Clutch worn and hand break struggled to hold the car when moving off uphill. All reported to the head office and haven’t receive any reply since it has been submitted (almost two weeks ago).

Very negative experience, money stealing thieves, rude customer service. Won't be using again and I do recommend everyone to go somewhere else.

paid in advance for the rental of the car, upon arrival they added insurance as their tax and got 372 e from 70 e and gave another car. and they deducted the deposit of 250 euros and did not provide anything that would be damaged, they just deducted the money. weeks, the total rent was 627 e. scammers!!!!

Prix attractifs dans les moteurs de recherche. Par contre, beaucoup de frais supplémentaires sur place.
Je déconseille vivement. On cherche le prix, on est surpris avec eux. Politique de carburant prépayée à moitié vide (très cher). Limitation des personnes entrant dans le bureau de location... Vraiment bizarre...

FInger weg! Ich habe ein Mietwagen auf Malta gebucht! Sie berechnen euch Kosten zu, die nicht gerechtfertigt sind. Ich wurde richtig über den Tisch gezogen! Ich habe das 4-Fache bezahlt, was eigentlich online ausgemacht war! Sie drängen euch, das Geld zu bezahlen. Das Auto war in keinem guten Zustand. Die Bremsen waren irgendwann blockiert. Sie haben sich geweigert, mir ein Tauschwagen zu bringen und haben verlangt, ich solle mit dem AUto (mit den kaputten Bremsen) zum Flughafen zurück fahren und bekomme erst dann ein neues Mietwagen! Das ist schon fast Selbstmord! Ich habe das Auto stehengelassen und bin zur Polizei. Das ganze läuft jetzt über den Rechtsanwalt

SCAM! I have booked a rental car in Malta! They charge you costs that are not justified. I was really ripped off! I paid 4 times more, what was actually agreed online! They urge you to pay the money. The car was not in good condition. THE BRAKES ARE BLOCKED at some point. They refused to bring me a swap car and demanded that I take the car (with the broken brakes) back to the airport and drive back to the airport. That's almost suicide! I left the car and went to the police. The whole thing is now going through the lawyer

Rip off merchants.
Extra charges when picking up the car. Not explained at the time and not listed in the original agreement. They apparently don't accept Amex, so you are forced to take out their liability insurance. Steer clear of this company.
Also, the car was awful and not in a state to be hired out. Nothing was done about that when I complained.

My experience with Citygo rentals was great. At first, I was very afraid because I read the reviews on google. I booked my car through Discover rent a car and I read the terms of the contract, so I didn't have a negative experience, I got a vehicle that I reserved, on the credit card the amount of my franchise was blocked, on the way back, I had a little scratch that was more than gradually charged because I didn't had insurance with Citygo, but I did with Discover rent a car. I asked for a refund from Discover rent a car and with the help of Citygo (All the necessary documentation was sent to me) I got my money back. Next time I'll use the direct Citygo Rentals because now I know the difference. Good job Citygo. See you again.

Einfach alles nur eine Abzocke !! Finger weg

Rented a car through citygo rentals Malta in October 2023. On arrival in airport couldn’t find them for long time. Wasn’t clearly advertised or visible. Was going circles asking other agents if they know where I can find them. Was only one person working even were few people in the office, hence queues. We were charged because apparently, I was selected as main driver, however I only made a payment during booking and 100% entered my husband as main driver in the provided section, but after purchase on the printed booking form, I appeared as main driver. Obviously, we had to pay ridicules money to add my husband as second driver. Then apparently somewhere on the back was printed message on confirmation form that we must use credit card, this information must be stated clearly in BOLD before completing purchase! However, we didn’t see this important info. When I printed form, I didn’t read all 3 pages of small print, but that would be too late anyway. Booking in is awful and the way client informed of important things is poor. Also, we been charged for fuel which was big surprise because it is cheaper to fill in yourself, price they charged was inadequate, and in the form wasn’t clearly stated that we will have to pay it on arrival! Person who was providing service wasn’t pleasant to deal with, his attitude stinks. Also car which we received was very dirty and was no screen wash, tank was empty and we couldn’t clean window, been driving in dangerous position!
