Easy to understand
My policy was set up by my financial advisor, but the paperwork was clear and easy to understand and the policy was set up and payments commenced promptly.

Wrong payment in first bonds payment…
Wrong payment in first bonds payment the issue was it paying more than plan agreement and fund was dropping over the 5 years, returned money as requested for correct plan to be issued and payments to start still waiting no e mail or confirmation on plan

I didn't feel that my concerns were truly understood. The responder was more keen to explain away why we were in this situation and defend the actions taken by CL. Rather than see the issue from the customer perspective & answer accordingly. Left me unseen to deal again or take another product in the future

Good service but won't release the title deed over 5 months
An elderly family member took out a loan with this company independently, and overall the service must have been fine, as we later found out the elder had actually taken out 5 loans against the property with this company.
All the loans have been fully repaid, but it's been over 5 months and the company is still holding the title deed and hasn't released it yet. This has caused a lot of hassle and certainly a very high solicitor bill (by chasing up the title deed).
That said, we've contacted customer service, and they have always been polite. We're just hoping the title deed issue gets sorted out soon so this matter can finally be resolved.

Everything was explained and ensured I did understand what was going on, I was fully aware of what was happening and the first payment arrived as assured on time.
Thinking it would be a daunting task to sort out my pension but it ended up a much easier process which was much appreciated.

Seamless annuity purchase
What an impressive experience we have just had with Retirement Line and Canada Life. Buying an Annuity with hard-earned pension savings is a daunting prospect. We've been very impressed with the prompt and caring approach of the Retirement Line team, and the follow-up with Canada Life, who provided a very competitive quote. Alison and Lucy at Retirement Line kept us updated constantly through the process and immediately dealt with any queries we had. The process can take some time, but was efficiently handled, taking a week less than anticipated. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Misleading letter
The letter advising me that the annuity had been set up was misleading, incorrect and missing vital information. I had to wait about 30 minutes to speak with an advisor who was able to clarify things - to a point- I still had to check my bank account twice before the money actually came in. Not a good start with this company.

It is taking far too long for Canada Life to release funds, up to 30 days, and form are sent by post, it is archaic in the 21st century. I am very disappointed
