We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the trails, food and atmosphere. Keeping the trails running well through busy periods and summer conditions is no small task, so the trail crew will appreciate the shout-out 👊

You do raise a fair point regarding hydration. During the recent warm weather, we've received similar feedback from several riders about larger water options and hydration facilities around the site .

Just to clarify, the water and soft drinks we sell come in standard 330ml cans, which are widely recyclable. One of the reasons we don't sell plastic bottles is that we're conscious of the environmental impact they can have. Unfortunately, plastic bottles are more likely to be discarded carelessly around the mountain, where they can become litter and cause harm to the environment.

For riders looking to stay hydrated throughout the day, we do sell reusable water bottles in the shop, and these can be filled up as often as you like, completely free of charge, at our hydration station 👍

Rider welfare is incredibly important to us, especially during hot conditions, and we'll continue looking at ways to improve hydration options across the site.

Firstly, we're delighted to hear you and your son still had a great visit, and a huge congratulations to him on ticking off Vanta. That's no small achievement!

We're sorry to hear the uplift experience wasn't what you've come to expect from previous visits. As you've noted, this isn't typically the norm. Whilst we always aim to have the full uplift fleet operating, the environment our vehicles work in is particularly demanding and, from time to time, mechanical issues do occur. When they do, we have to take vehicles off the road until they're either repaired or replaced, which can unfortunately impact uplift capacity for a period of time.

Whilst we'd love to operate with zero interruptions, keeping vehicles safe and reliable has to take priority, even if that occasionally means slightly longer waits while we resolve an issue.

Thanks also for the feedback on trail features and berm sizes. The trail crew are always looking at ways to evolve and improve the network, so we'll pass your comments on to them 👍

We're really pleased to hear the team, food and overall atmosphere still hit the mark, and we hope to see you both back on the hill again soon.

Firstly, we're sorry to hear about the broken arm and hope you've made a full recovery 👊

We completely understand why this was frustrating. However, the outcome you describe was a result of the terms attached to the voucher and subsequent booking rather than a decision made specifically in response to your injury.

Our cancellation, amendment and voucher policies are published in advance and applied consistently to all bookings. Whilst we absolutely sympathise with genuine circumstances such as injury, unfortunately it's not possible for us to make exceptions on a case-by-case basis without creating inconsistency for other customers.

That said, we're grateful for your continued support and pleased to hear that despite your frustration you're still enjoying your annual trip with your mates. Loyal customers are hugely important to us and we genuinely appreciate you continuing to choose BPW year after year.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed and balanced review.

We're really pleased to hear that, as always, you enjoyed the trails, uplift service and welcome from the reception team. It's also great to hear that our Hire Manager was able to find you before you left and discuss the issues you experienced.

We're genuinely sorry that the hire bikes didn't meet the standard you were expecting. Whilst our fleet are working bikes rather than showroom bikes, they should absolutely be safe, functional and provide riders with a great experience on the hill.

As the Hire Manager explained on the day, had the issues been reported whilst you were riding, we would have been able to rectify or replace components and get you back out riding quickly. Unfortunately, suspension performance issues in particular can be difficult for the team to identify during routine workshop checks, as rider weight, riding style and trail choice can all influence how a bike feels on the trail.

That said, we completely understand your comments regarding the condition of the bikes and the overall value proposition compared to the hire cost. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the interaction at bike return, as that's not the impression we'd want to leave with any customer.

We're pleased that we were able to discuss the matter in person and provide a partial refund, but we're sorry the experience wasn't what you expected from BPW bike hire.

Thank you again for your honest feedback. Comments like yours help us identify where improvements can be made, and we hope we'll have the opportunity to restore your confidence in the hire fleet should you choose to visit us again.

Hi Nick,
We're sorry to hear you left feeling disappointed, particularly as it sounds like you and your daughter did enjoy the riding itself once you were out on the trails.

We'd like to provide some additional context to a few of the points raised in your review.

Regarding the bike hire, during the booking process there is a clear pop-up message stating:
"A child ticket is defined by selecting a 'Youth' bike hire during the next steps (Height range 4'3"/130cm to 4'10"/150cm)."

After this, when selecting the hire bike, the booking system again states that the Youth bike is suitable for riders between 4'3" and 4'10" (130–150cm).
This does not mean that every child should automatically be booked onto a Youth bike. We recognise that children come in all shapes and sizes, and many older or taller children are better suited to adult-sized bikes. A simple click on the size guide available within the hire section provides detailed rider height information to help customers select the most appropriate bike.

In this instance, the bike booked for your daughter wasn't the correct size. The replacement bike we prepared was a Large adult bike, designed for riders between 5'10" and 6'1". This is clearly very different from a Youth bike with a maximum recommended rider height of 4'10" (150cm). Given the significant difference between those two sizes, it should have been apparent that the Youth bike was not the appropriate selection.

Fortunately, we were able to provide a suitabale alternative, but preparing a hire bike and having it fully checked by our workshop team takes time. For obvious safety reasons, these inspections cannot and should not be rushed. This contributed to the delay before you were able to begin riding.

With regard to the timings, there also appears to have been some misunderstanding about the Beginner Experience. While our website recommends arriving early for standard uplift and pedal pass bookings, the Beginner Experience is clearly advertised as running from 11:00am until 3:00pm, with these times shown in multiple places throughout the booking process. This is also why the associated hire equipment is due back at the advertised finish time, rather than at park closing.

We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the trails, found the bikes to be well maintained, and had positive interactions with our uplift team. It's unfortunate that those aspects of your visit were overshadowed by the frustration surrounding the bike hire.

Finally, we'd ask that feedback remains focused on the experience itself rather than personal comments about individual members of staff. Referring to a member of our team as "Mr Floppy Hair" and making remarks about his appearance and career is disappointing.

Our staff come to work each day to help visitors have the best possible experience, and while we fully appreciate that customers won't always agree with decisions or explanations, we do expect the same courtesy and respect that our team strive to show every visitor, especially from adults. If there are concerns about the service provided, there are always appropriate channels through which they can be raised constructively.

We wish you and your daughter all the best with your riding journey.
