A few hundred miles ago, had brand new Avon AS7 tyres fitted and despite the reports of low noise, mine roar and drone at most speeds and at 70 the pitch changes to a whine. I have not noticed any improvement in handling from the cheap Chinese tyres that were on before, just an annoying drone. Looking at all the poor reviews here, I also have perishing to look forward to. Good old British brand made in Eastern Europe...

I have four ZV7 tyres on my Fiesta ST-Line and after only two years and 6,500 miles I'm being advised at the MoT that all four tyres have significant cracking in the tread area across the full width of the tyres (although there is plenty of tread remaining). Really annoyed that I'm going to need four new tyres due to cracking rather than tread wear. I will not buy this brand again.

Unsafe dangerous tyres.
Purchased less than a year ago and both tyres severely cracking. One has started to split open, so had to remove from vehicle. Avon customer service is zero.
Do not buy these tyres.

Wish I’d read these reviews before I had 2 Avon tyres fitted…. Went into my trusted car repairer thinking I’d got a slow puncture in one tyre, only to be shown that both front tyres perished and with cracks in all the treads. They told me that they won’t sell Avon any more as the quality has gone down so much.

Got a full set of 4 Avon AV7 tyres around Feb 2024, so they've been on about 16 months.
The car has done less than 5k miles, and the 2 that were on the front axle are now illegal.
The car is a 1.4 Kia Venga [family car by nature] with no driving that would induce any sort of accelerated tyre wear.
In addition there are cracks pretty much in between each and every tread of all the tyres, which would probably explain the more-than regular loss of pressure, and needing a questionable amount of air inflating every week. There are no actual punctures on any of the tyres, they have been checked many times, but the cracking of the rubber all over is now obviously the reason for this issue.
The tyres were not overly expensive in comparison, but they certainly weren't necessarily the cheapest option, and given this is lifetime review of how they have performed and lasted, I would categorically advise everyone to not look at these twice, no matter how cheap they are!

Terrible I had 4 wheel refurb. 1 alloy was buckled and they said they could do it. Looked few weeks later and they didn’t even touch the inside. What a rip off of a place

Avon AV7 tyres, absolute rubbish, started to crack between the treads after only 3000 miles. The dealer ATS tyres in Dunstable did not want to know. Do not buy Avon Tyres.

Four Avon tyres purchased in 2023 for Bentley Arnage r 2004. First failed after 300 miles, replaced eventually. Two more now have side wall cracks, 10k lots of tread left, see how it goes with getting these replaced. Did lots of testing on AVON tyres on Rolls and Bentley at Crewe, that's why I chose them,but never again

Purchased Avon for my Honda Jazz. in Feb 2021. Car has been driven less than 3000 miles in that time. Tyres have split in between the tread. Avon purport to have a 5 year warranty but "its the suppliers responsibility”. Asda Tyres only give a 1 year warranty. The MOT technician said Oh no! Avon not again!!!! So whilst Avon seems to be part of Good year I would say DO NOT purchase Avon tyres.

I had new Avon Spirits fitted on my Honda NC750X in July 2024, 4 weeks and under 1,000 miles later the front one was severely cracked on one of the side walls. Seeing as I was commuting up the A3 from Portsmouth to London this is extremely dangerous, and I'm thankful I noticed one morning while checking the tyre pressure before hitting the road. I returned the tyre for warranty claim, it took Goodyear 6 months to respond. They claimed they could not find any irregularities in the manufacturing and the damage was caused by weathering/ozone so rejected the claim. How bad does a tyre have to be to crack after being on the road for 1 month? Absolutely terrible product which put my life at risk, I'm shocked and angered that they dismissed the claim after so long with no real explanation. The compounds AVON use are obviously substandard or flawed as I am one of many customers who have experienced the same cracking and perishing it seems. AVON, at least admit there is an issue and give refunds! You are adding insult to injury and losing loyal customers by not refunding a penny for your faulty products. I will forever advise others not to buy AVON following this experience, AVON need to properly investigate these claims, admit their compounds are faulty and fix it.

Just had my second set of Avon tyres fail the mot. Fault is cracking. The tyre fitter for the first set said they need to get hot so if not doing long runs they will crack. This time the garage said the rubber is too hard for low mileage driving. Fitted a softer rubber set.

Appalling! I bought AVON as its a British company to support workers here but never again.
Audi a4 2003 driven normally motorway and local driving.
My cars done 4000 miles on these tyres and the tyres are just over a year fitted with marking 11/23 manufactured date fitted by halfords tyres on the drive June 2023. (5.11.24 now) and all 4 have centre wear
which are hitting the limit markers PLUS tyre cracking on outer tread the outer tread remaining is 7/8mm very strange and ive never had a tyre wear in this way ive owned my a4 for 11 years. Michelins were great as have been the Dunlops.
As mentioned by others tyre pressure on all 4 are manufacturers recommended - i even lowered the pressures for 6 months but this didn't help - probably reduced my MPG though.. Which on top of buying another 4 tyres ( a different brand of course) has cost a small fortune just before Christmas.

Not one for complaining but the Avon ZV7 has to be said that potholes and this tyre result in a flat.
I've driven miles on other brands encountering potholes without misshap, first week and these failed. Replacing all four as soon as possible.

I've had avon tyres for many years the last 4 I've had fitted have been terrible 1 had shards of metal coming through the actual tread 4 weeks later 2 side walls had started to go 6 mm on both tyres I've reported it to the owners Goodyear who seem quite happy with this performance. I will never buy substandard tyres like these again utter rip off no better than cheap budget tyres shop for better tyres at a lot cheaper prices rip off

Avon tyres and ATS.
I bought a new set of Avon ZV7 tyres for my wife's fiesta. No problems till one got a puncture and my indi garage showed me cracks in the tyre. They were 9 months old with 6.5mm left. A trip to ATS and they looked at the set of them. All the same. ATS completed a report and sent it off. Usual response. Send all the tyres back and we will inspect them in 6 weeks. I didn't like that so a phone call to Avon tyres technical division. A long chat with a very nice man and they sent z brand new set of tyres in 5 days which were duly fitted without any money changing hands. Tyres are very good
So was Avon, depends on who and how you go about it. 5* to both ATS and Avon.

I have driven only 5000 miles on these Avon AS7 tyres and already they are cracking and the tread is peeling. The MOT tester and several garages have all said that Avon tyres are complete rubbish and I totally agree and will never buy them again. I hope that this review will save someone else from making the same mistake.

I puchased a used car with new Avon ZV7 tyres on the front wheels. I had to throw them away with 7mm of tread remaining after 5000 miles because of cracking around the tread. As I wasn't the original puchaser Avon refused to look into the matter.

Like tons of others; my Avon ZV7's cracked after 12 months and only a few thousand miles on the car!

Flagged by mot guy and on inspection the cracking in the valley of the tread on all four tyres of similar age was terrible. Literally looked like the tyre would have split in two. Shocking I’ve got to spend another £500+ on going back to Dunlops SP1s. Had all sorts of handling issues on my bmw x3 with the avons. On going back to Dunlop issues disappeared immediately. I’d say the tyres were just too thin and rolled far too much on cornering ( should add I don’t thrash the car, just normal every day driving).
What a massive costly mistake to trust a once great brand. Like others have said, they’ve lost a customer for life. Should automatically refund everyone who purchased these not-fit-for-purpose tyres.

Purchased 2 new Avon ZV7 tyres 19 months ago , only done 12000 miles and they're worn out !
DO NOT BUY AVON TYRES , RUBBISH

Have for many years purchased Avon tyres and have been very happy with them however as others have reported Avon ZV7 tyres are no longer manufactured in the UK. All 4 fitted to my wife's SLK had an MOT advisory for cracking after only 18 months and 3000 miles. Will not be buying this brand ever again.
