the person who assisted me at the Fort Lauderdale airport deceived me and defrauded my contract by placing insurance that I did not request. From what I've seen on the internet, there are several reports that the same thing happened to other customers... which makes me imagine that this is encouraged by the company. You may even profit in the short term, but I will criticize you to as many people as I can and I will NEVER be your customer again. This is fraud and it is nonsense. I have rented several times from the Alamo and this has never happened. I will open complaints in all possible channels, including judicial.

This is the Avis Budget car rental Group Kastrup Copenhagen management. In their pre-renting mail advise me that I "MUST" be on time, no matter if the scheduled flights has delay. This is my fault!!! And they charge 375 dkk in my credit card for the flight company delay...I think that must be something to discuss in front of a court. I never have seen such a cheating behaviour in my traveller life.

I reserved a car via Economy Bookings but when I came at the Avis counter they said they couldn't use the voucher and that the car I had reserved wasn't available. They made me sign and pay for an upgrade which I never asked for. They said I would be refunded after returning the car but they never gave me back my money. Conclusion; I paid twice for just one car!! I want my money back!

Versuchen einem Schäden unterzujubeln, die man nicht verursacht hat, rufen nicht einmal an und buchen einfach hunderte Euro ab. Ich bin entsetzt, das ist Betrug. Jetzt verstehe ich die älteren Leute, die ihre Kreditkartendaten nicht hergebeb wollen. Mietet euch woanders ein Auto!

I signed a contract to pay 300 Euros at drop off (beacuse I hired the full insurance at the counter staff). When I dropped off the car they charged me 1200 Euros on my credit card without authorisation and now not answering emails or calls.
In addition, they only have 1 person at the counter staff so the queues for pick up and drop off are very long.
It's not the 1st time this company charges money on my credit card that has not been agreed previously. Never use them

Not sure why so many negative reviews. My experience is otherwise.

I booked a 7 seater car from Glasgow airport. Got hassle-free pickup. The requested Peugeot 5008 was not available so got WV Touran Car. Little disappointed but Touran was 2021 model and was like almost new.

Travelled with car for almost 700 miles without any issue. And returned the car too without any issue. Expecting my deposit back in this week. Very nice experience and faced no issues. Will choose Budget again in future for booking.

Do not trust! They double charge for everything!
Long story short. Booked a car online for 350 euro to use it in Naples for 4 days.
I end up paying 750 euros when I returned the car.
Made complaint since than....nothing solved since now.

Pas!! Oplichting!! Geen auto's huren bij dit bedrijf! Ze proberen bij je een extra verzekering af te dwingen en als je die niet afneemt heb je ineens 4 weken na ineveren van je huurauto schade.. Geen contact met het bedrijf mogelijk en reageren niet op jou als klant..

En stjerne er de ikke engang værd.

De overholder ikke egne aftaler. Jeg lejede bilen i Danmark og fik den i San Francisco. Der skulle vi, efter to timers ventetid udfylde ny kontrakt for at få bilen.
Aftaler ikke overholdt.

I have made a friend out of my rental guy who is an independent operator which I like to support. Shawn Labbe at AVIS/BUDGET 3069 Alcoa Hwy, Alcoa, TN 37701, is a stand up guy who tries to give you the best deal possible. Even when I was like an hour late turning in my rental, because I was driving from Tampa, Florida to Alcoa, TN in a tropical storm….it took me 11.5 hrs of driving hell lol….need I mention that I was driving a car that wasn’t mine, and torrential rain and wind 😳😳😳? Anyway, Shawn did not charge me for another day even though I made him late closing down. I’ve rented from him about 3 times and he takes care of me. It’s hard to find honest people anymore….thank you, Shawn Labbe for all that you do.

ACHTUNG BETRUG! Ein Stern ist noch zu viel! In Palma am Flughafen im Juni gemietet und es passierte ein unverschuldeter Unfall. Dann wurde lustig meine Kreditkarte belastet und ich bekam neue. Am 23.12. nach über 6 Monaten buchten sie von der alten Kreditkarte 1.400€ SB ab. Reinste abzocke und Betrug und jetzt geht es zum Anwalt.

Not trustable at all,they tell you a price and when you return the car they charge you triple more.

When I showed up for my rental first I was told there were no cars and I (not them) could try to find one at other locations. After going back and forth for 30min it turns out there was a car there. I accepted it. When I got to the car, it was filthy, inside and out, and was a down grade in class/size. I would not have minded the down grade if they had told me and adjusted my rate, but they did not. I also, thank goodness, noticed my paperwork said the gas tank was full. It was actually just under 3/4. Since my rental started later than my booking time I asked if there was a drop box to return the car since the location would be closed at my new return time. I was told there was no drop box and to return the following day. When I went to return the car, the agent asked how my rental experience was. I noted the car was filthy. He then started asking me if I’d had dogs in the car, which made no sense. Finally, to top all of this off, when I was emailed my receipt I was over charged by close to $100!! I now have the pleasure of having to call and deal with that. By far the worst rental experience I’ve ever had.

An absolute scam at the airport in Rome when renting a car at Budget/Avis, via Holiday Autos! I had a clear contract of what was included in terms of insurance and 0% tax. When checking out three days later I notice that the agent had added additional insurances, services and added 22% tax on everything, making me pay the double for the car! When such additional services are added, WITHOUT TELLING THE CUSTOMER, that is a scam. And when adding tax and fees that you have a contract of being included, it’s FRAUD! Nor Holiday Autos or Avis/Budget respect the contact and have not refund me even after referring to these terms and conditions:

Watch out! Never trust these companies, and their customer service only send standard messages of “apologies for the inconvenience”, but keep the money they stole from me!
After seeing more reviews of the same issues, it’s clear that this was not a random situation. This is a systematic scam they are doing as part of their business. Embarrassing and no business ethics at all.

I'm appalled by AVIS BUDGET. I used AVIS in the USA when I rented a car and they were really good, I had no problems. I used AVIS BUDGET on my trip to Belgium, taking the car out from Brussels Airport and returning to Brussels Airport for 1 week. I have been billed, on 3 different occasions now with fines that haven't been properly explained. The letters are a mixture of Dutch and English. When returning the car I returned with a full tank of fuel, and the guy tried to charge me and additional 200+ Euros. I brought to their attention that the car has a full tank of fuel, he apologised and removed the additional costs. I wonder how many people haven't questioned additional costs and have just paid what is being asked of them? I choose AVIS BUDGET hoping for a smooth and cheap transition. I got the total opposite. Noting but headache!! It seems I'm not the only one with problems with this company. Take my advice, pay a little more elsewhere and stay clear of AVIS BUDGET. Never again will I rent from them. Just under £500 for the car rental for the week has cost me close to £1,000!

Déplorable, en panne sur l’autoroute avec un camion pour notre déménagement vers 17h45. Nous avons eu un dépanneur très rapidement envoyé par les services autoroutiers. Ensuite nous avons dû attendre jusqu’à 2h45 un taxi pour nous mener à l’hôtel, le taxi avait eu la commande juste 15 minutes avant de venir…. Première blague. Ensuite un appel de l’assistance Mercedes qui me demande comment payer le garage, non mais où est la caméra cachée? Va-t-on avoir un autre camion? Va-t-on avoir une réparation? Aujourd’hui lendemain matin il est 6h20, et surprise, quand j’appel l’assistance un message me dis que suite à une forte affluence je vais attendre 5 minutes, mais je pense que comme hier je vais attendre plus de 30 minutes que quelqu’un me réponde. Et je ne sais toujours pas comment nous allons pouvoir finir notre déménagement avec nos 20m3 bien remplis… bref je vous souhaite de ne jamais avoir à faire appel à leurs «services »

Hired a car in Majorca in May. Was given a Seat Ibiza with 364 kilometres on the clock. Drove the car for 65 kilometres over 2 days. Set off on third day drove 400 metres stopped at lights, on pulling away the vehicle stalled and would not restart. Was given a replacement vehicle. Six weeks ago I was billed for £1802, according to them they had to replace the clutch, flywheel and starter motor and they say it was due to my driving.
I have since been charged on my credit card.

Shame on Avis Budget for their crooked business practices and British Airways for referring me to them in the first place. I booked and pre-paid 5 days of car hire from Lyon airport, was offered a "free upgrade" when I picked the car up and asked to sign the rental agreement - sadly I didn't check to see that the price hadn't changed. When my bill came through I found that the price had DOUBLED! 5 emails went unanswered in 2 months eventually after an hour on hold I spoke to a customer services rep who told me it was my fault for signing the agreement.

Avis /Budget have been my worst car Rental experience ever. First of all I booked my car 2 Months in advanced. Called me 2 days before my rental to tell me that they didn’t have and won’t have my 12 passenger vehicle available. Then they tried to give me 2 Vans and did not give them to me because my name was red flagged for who knows. I couldn’t get in contact with any one who could help me and ended renting from THRIFTY. They almost costed me my family vacation. I won’t ever rent from them ever Again. Please don’t rent with them ever. They are very unprofessional.
