We booked our dream holiday (Route 66) with American Sky travelling on Saturday 28th September. Everything was great at the booking stage & the service was spot on. Unfortunately, on Tuesday 24th September I was admitted to hospital because I was vomiting blood. I was in the HDU for 3 days whilst they were running tests and trying to stop the bleeding. Eventually, they discovered that I had a clot near my Liver which I am having further treatment for. On Thursday 26th September I called American Sky, from hospital, to notify them that the doctor had advised, on medical grounds, I am unable to fly. They asked me to put it in an email, which I did. I was discharged from hospital the following day. I emailed American Sky on Wednesday 2nd October to discuss whether there was anything they could do to change the dates of the holiday or even give us a credit to rebook with them next year. I was told that "legally" there was nothing they could do. I replied saying I understood there was nothing they could do "legally" but maybe on a personal/ethical level. I enclosed a copy of my discharge note in the email to them. The reason we had to cancel was due to unforeseen circumstances which were completely out of our control. I am still waiting to hear from a Manager. I am so disappointed that we have nothing to show for the £3300 that we have paid for our holiday to celebrate our 40th birthdays.

We booked our holiday ~ Route 66 (which was our honeymoon but we took one of our (adult) children !!) about a month before we wanted to travel and other companies were unable to help due to the short notice. American Sky were really helpful and my husband rang on a Sunday afternoon and by late Monday morning everything was booked and confirmed. Very professional and efficient.

We wouldn't have chosen to fly with United but it was the only option, but it turned out to be absolutely fine. The hotels were Holiday Inn type hotels which were great for the 1 or 2 night stays, and the last 2 nights American Sky suggested we stay in a 5* hotel in Santa Monica which was superb and a good recommendation.

We had appropriate information with regards to our flights and hotel accommodation, but we felt it would've been really useful for them to supply us with some information on Route 66 to ensure we followed the right route and visited the places worth seeing.

That's the only negative comment we could make about our booking and the great service they provided. Would definitely use them again. THANK YOU.

Americansky plans were ok despite very late information about the itinerary and changes of original tour offered however ATI escort, organisation and quality of accommodation was very poor and has left us feeling that our holiday of a lifetime was a spoiled opportunity and that this company should no longer be contracted to undertake the Western Discovery tour- we have just returned and wish I had seen the review of the previous contributor as may well have cancelled our trip and spent our hard earned money on another provider. In relation to trades descriptions ATI's own guide is misleading and as the previous contributor stated so poorly organised that time spent in the places promised was very very limited and not worth the cost of the tour. Will aim to make sure we never undertake any further tours with ATI and would recommend that Americansky find a better quality provider. We will be seeking recompense once I discover who to contact at American Sky as it is not obvious from any literature.

If you are going to the states, use these guys. They are the business. I have just come back off a two tour of the south west US and I couldn't have done it without them.

I had a couple of hiccups half way through with hotels not being booked, but this was sorted out immediately and someone was able to help me even though it was the early hours of the morning in the UK.

Just returned from the Western Discovery escorted tour. The service from American Sky was really good, the tours they are offering are from ATI. From the start we were not impressed with ATI. They changed five hotels before the holiday commencement, which we knew could happen but comparable hotels they stated would be allocated. This was not the case with the last hotel in the tour as the reviews were appalling, old, dirty, smelly, prostitutes and hotel smelling of marijuana!! Informed AS that we would not stay at the hotel, ATI were not interested. After several phone conversations AS paid for us to stay in the original hotel. We was later informed that ATI were not going to use this hotel next year!! Even our tour guide wouldn’t stay there! Several of the hotels were at the lower end of three star and could have been better. The trip itself is too much to do over 14 nights and should really be done over at least 21 nights. The traveling was ridiculous eight hours in a coach and then you would get one hour at Death Valley!! There is too little time at the main stops and when you arrive being too tired after so much travelling you don’t have enough time to enjoy the sites. We got fed up of being told how much tip to give the driver and tour guide. Apparently both are paid “peanuts” by ATI so rely on the tips!! The tour guide was unwell half way into the holiday and due to the air conditioning and sitting on a coach with her for hour after hour everyone was ill. As we managed to get our hotel changed we was then left to make our own way from the last hotel to our accommodation. Overall AS are good but ATI appears to not be a good travel company as customer service does not come first.

Having just returned from Orlando I will never use this company again. I had travelled twice before to Orlando with American Sky and had no problem but this year was awful the “superior” villa we paid for was disgusting and infested with cockroaches. I was in contact with them as soon as we arrived. The following morning I was told by AS that the letting agents would be in touch when their office opened at 9am to try and remedy the issues of the dirty swimming pool and toilets. Despite my sending an email to them to advise no one had been in touch I never heard from American Sky again. We had a disaster of a holiday with 3 children as the pool was filthy and had to sleep on the couch because of cockroaches in the bed. We submitted a formal complaint and we haven’t even received an acknowledgement. I am not leaving it. The holiday cost a lot of money and their response to our problem while there was despicable.

Fantastic service, can’t complain. Everything is planned to perfection. Wouldn’t use any other company & always deal with Brendan White (Dublin office), he’s a dream to deal with, couldn’t recommend him enough!

I have to admit i was a bit nervous using this company as i had not booked with them before. I am delighted to say that everything worked out great, the staff were all very nice and easy to talk to on phone. Price quoted for holiday could not be matched . Great deal. Great price. All in all had great holiday ; so a big thanks to all the staff, will book again only this time i wont be nervous. THANKS 😎😄😃

We’ve booked two holidays through American sky in the last couple of years! One was a Californian flydrive and the other was a New England fly drive! Both were amazingly organised and so well priced! They provided all the information we need as well as booked trips en route! We had such amazing holidays!!

Attentive staff from booking to travel time. They were able despite issues sort out our return flight home after disruptions at Heathrow that kept us stranded for 2 days.

Just returned from my 5th holiday booked with American Sky and i honestly wouldnt book my travel with anyone else again everything was made so easy they really took the time to understand what i wanted and my budget and delivered every time. From courtesy calls the day before departure to ensure i have everything i need to travel to follow up emails checking my satisfaction on return it really shows a company who values their customers.

Excellent company to deal with, understand your requirements and know everything there is to know about the destination booked. Highly recommend

We found the company very helpful and informative.

We found Tradewinds just what we needed because Miami is so expensive.
Once we got our kettle for our tea we have to say that the kitchen was just the job.
Only had one beastie in 12 nights which is not bad.
We were surprised and delighted to find that Tradewinds was so close to Collins Avenue (5mins walk) and Ocean Drive (12 mins walk)
The pool was smallish but fine and there was no noise to worry about.
We were Virgin people but we are now Tropical Sky (twice to Soco) and American Sky people.
The price we paid which included flight was excellent

Excellent company to deal with, great communication , good value per money. Our travel agent was Suzanne and she was fantastic, very informative, good tips, we changed our itinerary a number of times and she was a pleasure to deal with every time.

Would certainly recommend the company, can't wait for my next holiday

We really enjoyed our self-drive with American Sky, and had a lot of really good recommendations for things to and places to see. However the driving distances between each resort were very long, and we often felt rushed and had to miss out things. But it was a great holiday and everything had been put in place for us, so there were no glitches.
