I bought WP Rocket after being…
I bought WP Rocket after being bombarded by countless messages, videos, and reviews telling me how “brilliant,” “simple,” and “plug-and-play” it supposedly is.
Reality check: it’s been a complete and utter nightmare.
Instead of instantly speeding things up, it broke parts of my site, created conflicts, and sent me down a rabbit hole of settings, exclusions, cache clearing, troubleshooting guides, and forum posts. So much for “set it and forget it.”
If you’re not already very technical (or willing to become a temporary web developer), be prepared to lose time, patience, and possibly your sanity. The irony of a performance plugin slowing me down is not lost on me.
Maybe it works beautifully in perfect conditions. But for me, despite following their documentation and advice, it’s been far from easy — and nowhere near as magical as the marketing makes it out to be.
Proceed with caution. And a strong coffee. ☕️
