Why the Vehicle Score App Is Wrong:

Vehicle Score (and similar third-party motoring apps) relies on basic rule-of-thumb algorithms rather than official emissions data.
Because Euro 4 officially became mandatory for all new cars in January 2006, many generic database apps simply flag any car registered before 2006 as "Non-Compliant" by default. Since early R171 models were registered in 2004 and 2005, the app incorrectly marks them as non-compliant based on registration year alone

Report OK but even though they ask for your email address to send you a copy it never arrives. Tried twice but nothing

I checked Vehicle Score before viewing. I found it gave me the confidence to know the history of the vehicle I was going to view. The mileage indicator was a good insight and looking through the MOT report to see what…if anything would require further investigation. I found just some minor issues that did not cause concern. Overall it was very good and I purchased the vehicle. Had to do some work but was expecting to do some as it’s an older vehicle and over 130,000 miles, but a year on it’s been a great vehicle with very good economy. With rip off Diesel prices at £2 and above per litre.

Rip off, paid for standard report, it gives very basic results, then says “unlock service history” implying there is some. I knew it had been serviced and timing chain replaced, so was expecting to see stuff, however having paid extra, it then says “ there is none”

Brilliant, easy to use, will use vehicle score for all my car purchases in the future.

Just downloaded vehicle store app. Put my reg in and it flagged 3 possible warnings including finance still linked and recorded as salvage/insurance category. So I paid the £12.95 and it came back clean bill of health...what a scam!!

I required a service history check as previous owner had lost the service book so I tried vehicle score, you put your car details in but it doesn't state if there are any records or not until you pay the £9, so I had to pay the money to then be instantly told there is no service record history recorded, so £9 gone for absolutely nothing. Why before paying can they just state if it has any records or not, and then if it has buy it so you can get the full details. When I bought the car, it came with paperwork to show It had been serviced by an independent garage (so I knew it had been serviced) but It appears the service record check will only include main dealer records, so if you took the car to an independent garage, this wouldn't necessarily show up anyway. To me a complete waste of time and money.

Well impressed with vehicle score basic checks or free gives you a clear indicator of the cars condition and what you intend to buy would recommend this service to anyone if you need more in-depth search then £12.95 is a small price to pay and you get money off the next time you need to do a search again thanks vehicle score !!

Paid for full service history report as I KNOW this car has main dealer history but wondered if more records were out there, it comes back after stealing my money with 'No dealer records found' none at all? I have it right in front of me, total thieves no refund for screwing me over, avoid at all costs.

Let me know a cars true history before purchase. Was undeclared write off.

Ridiculously slow to update information. MOTd cars on the Government website show last mot or fail days and more on VS. Must use carrier pigeons to get their intel.

You dont have any service history for the car i checked, but yet I have a service book and receipts for dealerships for servicing and a new sub frame fitted by MB as a good will gesture, definitely your records need updated

Waste of money. Could only tell me service year but no details of location and hardly anything else included “Actions:• repair: Workshop Repair”

That’s the extent of one report. Incorrect mileage (7199 in 2019, 999 in 2023)

Not as accurate as some others. Charged £12.99 then another £4.99 for service history, only shows main dealer services. Offers a 50% discount on another check but won't let you redeem it. Got in touch, offered me one for free, explained that I had already paid for the check, have heard nothing since.

Won't be using again.

Have used vehicle score twice this year when looking for a car and after spotting some problems on the government mot site thought I'd see if my thoughts about this car were true, its a 2016 skoda fabia which looks like it was imported in 2022 as it only show 3 previous mots but there's nothing on vehicle score to bring your attention to the fact so this vehicle could have done starship mileage and been written off abroad and we know nothing, despite the 2016 registration vehicle score list it as a 2022 vehicle and even give valuations as a 2022 vehicle, someone could really come unstuck trusting this particular check. I have emailed them twice but heard nothing back.
Edit... 3 weeks on and absolutely no reply or contact, so much for getting in touch in 24 hours!!!!!! I certainly won't ever use them again.

Vehicle Score are total scammers and are fraudulent. Stay clear and go elsewhere like Car Vertical for an accurate report.
I paid Vehicle Score for a report and the report stated under the Insurance Category-The vehicle has not been involved in any accident that has been recorded.

This information is false and innacurate as the vehicle was involved in an accident and was recorded.
I have since found out that Vehicle Score use Experian for their data and Experian only supply data if the vehicle was written off or categorised.
This is not what is stated on the Vehicle Score Website.
On the Vehicle Score website the following was stated-
Insurance Claims
Check if there have been insurance claims made against the vehicle.
No mention that they only check insurance write off claims against the vehicle.
As Vehicle Score will not resolve the issue I will be taking the matter to Trading Standards.

Full history check - Isnt what you think it is, does not come with service history. The check is okay at best, most info you can get from just googling or using free websites. Honestly not worth the money you pay.

Service check - From the naming convention you'd think this would be included in a FULL history check.
In my case the service check as also unless as it doesnt really tell you much. I got a service check for a car which only covered it service history frok 2020-2023. Thats great if this was in 2023!
Theres now 3 years where either the car didnt get a service ( which i find unlikely) or that Vehiclescore just decided to not collect the info. Theres no info from VehicleScore to say if they couldnt collect or if its not avaliable.

Overall spent nearly £20 for info thats not relavent or free online. Go use literally any other site
