Rude staff don't even say goodbye just put the phone down on you. Spent an hour sorting insurance only to have the phone put down on me with no idea if my van is actually insured or not. Would not recommend using this company.

Rude customer services.
Customer advisor was very rude and ignorant.
When i said i wanted to cancel my quote due to excessive uplift in price, i was just told "OK fine" and the phone was put down.
A few seconds later I got another call and told them I had just cancelled and again rude and arrogant advisor who put the phone down.
23RD March update.
Had a call from CS who have promised they will deal with the training needs of the individual concerned. They will not be sacked but will be trained as requested. I did not ask for it but got an amazon voucher as an apology. I ended up getting insurance cheaper elsewhere in the end so all is well that ends well.

This company hounded me for an insurance policy they took out on my behalf after only asking for a quote for a van I didn't end up buying. Left a negative review which they promptly begged me to remove promising the matter was closed. This had gone on for years. So like a fool I removed the review. Only to now find that rather than close the issue they simply sold the debt on to a debt collection agency (AGAIN) so now I'm going to pay it but I advise you very strongly to not use this awful company or at least record all calls and save all emails from them.

Was going okay I made a mistake as I didn’t think insurance number one went through didn’t wanna drive my truck and lose it so I was looking for another insurance company in the meantime the next day the insurance for the first one I went through came through so I’ve had to prove that I was insured to get my money back ever since then I’ve had problems. I’ve sent it half a dozen times still have no luck. I can’t afford to lose £216 if the other insurance company wasn’t that good I would’ve considered eventually using the company van all I want is me money back because I’ve proved it.

They can't find my quote
I have phoned Van Compared on at least 3 separate occasions to try to accept a quote. Every time I have been told that the Ref in the email does not correlate with my customer profile/there is no information saved for me.
I have found each call handler quite abrupt and overly casual in how they speak. After eventually finding my quotes they were several hundred pounds more expensive than the initial price I was given.
Update: Charlie very kindly reached out via email as well as replying to this review. I have since found instance elsewhere, however I really appreciate the efforts made and the gesture of an Amazon voucher. Credit where credit is due - not a lot of businesses are so willing to acknowledge theirs errors or offer a solution.

Wouldnt even rate 1 star, my van was rejected due to having a dodgy mot and dreadful trouble with break downs in the first week, so i cancelled my insurance, these people charged me £220 for a weeks insurance, and still havent sent back the £770 they owe me, these companys are greedy and not very good, but now iv seen how they operate, ie witholding money due back, i will just simply never use them again just greed and or incompetence on their part, i dread to think how they would handle a claim, as you cannot get through to a human, their automated phone asks you questions then cuts you off this is Nick Kates husband

After getting on the phone again regarding a refund, i was initially told would be 3 to 5 days, i was today told 7 to 10 days, i was left on hold 20 mins then cut off, so called back again, did this time get a chap who knew what he was doing , seemed to sort things after me having to carry on again about the refund, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN, dreadful customer service
