While considering a family trip to Japan, I found UME Travel online and worked with Ms. Carrie Tang. To say that I was pleased with her service is an understatement; she was truly wonderful throughout the entire process of planning our two week stay.

By sincerely listening to our family interests, she selected hotels in prime locations and organized tours that were simply spectacular. My younger son had hoped to see Mt. Fuji, and thanks to her help with our hotel arrangements, it was a dream come true for him.

Also, our tour guides (Andrew, Hang, and Yuya) and drivers were some of the warmest and kindest people we met in Japan. They were helpful and patient in every way, from sharing local restaurant recommendations and assisting with translations for gift buying to ensuring we navigated the train system successfully.

Much like our trip to beautiful Japan, their efforts were unforgettable. Thank you for everything, Carrie/UME Travel, for making our journey truly amazing.

After a really difficult year with the passing of both my parents, my husband and I were finally able to go on our honeymoon and UME Travel made it an experience we will never forget. They tailor made our holiday to Thailand, taking in our interests to plan the most wonderful time in Bangkok and Hua Hin. Whilst we were in Thailand, our guide (Neena), was on hand from the moment we landed until the moment we were back at the airport. She had a wealth of knowledge and also recommended extra activities and food places we could visit.
The booking process was easy. Settled on an itinerary, paid, and received a complete and very detailed final itinerary a week before we arrived. Hassle free, no stress booking multiple things, it was just what we needed. Thank you Steven and Neena for making this the best holiday we have ever been on.

I needed to write a review based on Amber at UME and the incredible tour guides they booked for my trip. Amber went above and beyond before, during, and after our trip and because of that diligence and attention to detail; we were able to have the greatest dream vacation ever.

My wife Tiffany and I had the absolute pleasure of exploring Japan with three extraordinary guides—JCY in Tokyo, Hikari in Kyoto, and Momo in Osaka—and we truly cannot say enough about how incredible each of them was.

From the moment we began our journey, JCY set the tone in Tokyo with boundless energy, deep knowledge, and a genuine passion for sharing the city. She made every location feel alive, offering fascinating insights into both modern culture and historical context. Whether we were navigating bustling districts or learning about sacred sites, JCY made everything approachable, engaging, and fun.

In Kyoto, Hikari brought a completely different—but equally wonderful—experience. Her calm, thoughtful presence matched the city’s beauty perfectly. She provided rich historical context for the temples and shrines, helping us truly appreciate the significance of each place we visited. Her ability to connect the past with the present made Kyoto feel deeply meaningful rather than just beautiful.

And in Osaka, Momo was an absolute joy. Her personality, humor, and enthusiasm made every moment exciting. She had an incredible way of making us feel welcomed and comfortable while still sharing so much knowledge about the city’s character and history. With her, the experience felt vibrant, personal, and unforgettable.

Each guide brought something unique, but all three shared the same incredible generosity, professionalism, and passion for what they do. They went above and beyond to ensure we not only saw amazing places, but truly understood them. The guidance they offered—especially in explaining the history and cultural significance behind temples, shrines, and landmarks—made all the difference in our experience.

We are so deeply appreciative of JCY, Hikari, and Momo. They didn’t just guide us—they elevated our entire trip into something truly special.

We had an exceptional experience working with Amy at UME Travel for our recent trip to Japan.

From start to finish, the itinerary was incredibly well thought out, with every detail carefully planned. It made the entire trip seamless and allowed us to fully enjoy the experience without worrying about logistics.

I wanted to take a minute to write a review.

I recently just travel to Thailand, Singapore, and Japan with my family of 5.

At first, I was trying to book everything by myself, but to be honest being that it was our first time out of the country it got very overwhelming for me. So I started reaching out to travel companies. Ume Travel was the 3rd company to reach back out.

The agent that helped me through everything was Carrie. She understood that it was our first time and really help me with understanding what is needed in each country and what to expect. For all these countries, I didn't know where to start but she started building me an itinerary and had me over look them. It was so detailed with flights (who we would be flying with), hotels, and activities.

Of course, like anyone I was very skeptical about booking anything. Everything just sound so good to be true and the itinerary just seemed so amazing. I sat on this for a while, but after researching more on this. I decided to go with Ume Travel.

We left on our trip the end of April and just recently end of May we got back. Let me tell you, I was stressing out so much before the trip and hoped and pray that everything goes accordingly. A couple of days before we left for Bangkok, I got a text through What's App from my guide on instructions of where she will be. Again, I'm still worried that someone is not going to rob me or do the unthinkable to my family.

We arrived in Bangkok and our guide was where she said she would be with a sign with our name and was so pleasantly nice. Mayuree was her name and our driver was Lee. The whole time we were there they took really good card of us. Helped us with our luggage, checked us in our hotel, drove us where we needed to go, had lunch reservations and dinner on certain days ready, and even when we were off to our next city, they made sure that we got our plane ticket and know where to go.

We flew to Phuket and Lisa was my next guide and our driver was name M. Both extremely nice. Took us on a tour and also to this amazing lunch in this cute little restaurant. Again everything was just ready for us to eat all arranged by both the guide and Ume Travel.

To be honest it was like this all the way from Singapore to Japan. One of our most amazing experience was when we were taking the bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo. Our hero that day was our driver who not only dropped us off at the station but went to park the car and met us inside and paid his way to enter and showed us where we needed to go all the way up to the train. That place is so huge and not speaking the language, I would have been lost. But he helped us every step of the way and went above and beyond.

When we got to Tokyo, our next driver found us after i took a picture of where we were and helped grabbed our luggage and took us to the van. Hands down to Ume Travel on arranging and making this trip such a memorial trip.

They made this a stress free while we were there and was so amazing with their service that I'm already working my next booking with them to other SE Asia countries.

My husband was so impressed and praised me on finding them. All their guides and drivers are top notch. I have been recommending them to everyone who wants to go to Asia. My EVP reached out to me and he already booked his trip with Carrie. I have a cousin who heard my experience is actually booking her Japan trip with Carrie.

In an age where salesmen often promise much and deliver little … Steven was a welcome surprise..
He listened to our needs ( working around a wedding schedule in Korea … listened to our desires … we wanted to see and do every in Japan in 12 days ….
Steven stepped up to the plate and like Omani now does in LA .. he smacked it out of the park!
We had pick up waiting for us in Osaka .. and Levi brought us to the tranquil sights and sound of a Buddhist monastery where we got spiritualy rejuvenated and found peace and serenity…
The next night in Osaka .. went smooth and the on to more temples and shrines as we traveled to Kyoto…
Victoria took over and bringing us to the last Shoguns palace completely brought the story to life for me , she was full of good information …
The Golden palace was stunning as well, after soaking up some more sights in Kyoto including a private Giesha tea ceremony.. we hoped on the bullet train to Hakone’ Oliver took over and led us to the sulfur field and the sky cab rides , a beutiful lake cruise and into a peaceful old fashioned Japanese style B&B… we loved that as well service was impeccable!
The next morning we saw the stunning Mount Fuji and got some great shots and souvenirs ..eventually traveling into Tokyo which was another wonderful few days…
As you can see we framed a lot in and Steven helped us craft an itinerary that was thoroughly enjoyable…
I should mention all promises were kept, the drivers were always on time .. the tour guides let us tweet the tours as we wished and all meals provided and delicious!
On behalf of my wife and my two friends who joined us. I’d like to personally thank Stephen and encourage you to strongly. Consider using him if you’re booking your travel plans in Asia.. it’s still amazing to me that a few emails or text messages on WhatsApp and a few phone calls and this man on the other side of the world put together a trip that would provide us with memories for the rest of our life. Our travel agent, Eva Wang, was with us every step of the way in planning this trip (and supported us during our trip). Tour guide (Cris) was very engaged with us and travelled to all the cities we visited. The private driver arranged during our visit was great for the most part and ensured the most efficient use of time.

From the first contact when we were deciding on our itinerary until after we returned home UME was exceptional. Felix has been excellent throughout. Helping us tailor our trip and organising accommodation and guides he ensured everything went smoothly and was in regular contact to check on how we were going and confirming events and times of each day’s activities. We could not recommend UME more highly and we will definitely use their services again.

My experience with UME travel was incredible from start to finish. I remember reaching out for the first time and being connected to travel consultant Carrie Tang. She helped accommodate each activity I mentioned and included every detail. She also checked up on me during my trip to make sure I was enjoying everything.
Carrie selected the best team to help me and my family navigate our first time ever in Japan. In Tokyo we were shown around by Kyle and John. These two were amazing, they made each day super fun and had the most patience and understanding for us. They helped accommodate our schedule when we needed more time and even helped us with activities outside of our planned itinerary.
In Kyoto to Osaka we were shown around by Bruce and Gary. Bruce was honestly one of the best people I have met overall, I think he truly elevated my trip / experience. He had the best vibes, he is super fun and just being around him boosts your spirits! Gary was one of the most informative people that I’ve met, he had so much information to share. I love learning stuff on trips, that’s the best part!
Lastly in Kumamoto we were shown around by Johnny and our driver! Johnny was great even though we only had him for 2 days! He made it so comfortable for us to reach out and to talk to him from the very start. He is super helpful!

Overall, my family and I had the best experience and best time during our first time to Japan. Everything was worth every penny. I highly recommend using this agency, they are top notch.

First off, customer service A++. I could call or text virtually any time and get an answer or a response within an hour. Felix was absolutely amazing from day one. Secondly, my travel agent, Felix, super helpful, friendly, and always helped get the best deals. While on my trip, everything was perfectly handled. No stress whatsoever. I am planning to book my next trip with them already.

Our group of eight family members and friends were well catered for from the planning stage to the actual travel. We enjoyed ourselves on our ten days in Hokkaido and I for one can do it again.
Our accommodations were really great and comfortable.
We were well looked after by our helpful and friendly guide Clifford and our driver Robin. Nothing was too much for them.

I just concluded a trip on May 04 2026 with Lan Lui from Ume Travel who crafted a 5 Country tour/22 day tour that included Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket), Hong Kong and Seoul. She displayed her 5 Star Qualities in the way she listened, adjusted, adapted to create a Truly Magnificent Tour. She was with us along the whole Trip highlighting her compassionate nature when my wife needed medical help. I have been travelling for over 50 year and Lan is the best travel agent and more so a caring human being that is a great asset to Ume Travel and a lifelong friend. Thank you Lan.

our experience and expectations were great, our tour guide Mon Chai is excellent, has a lot of knowledge about the country, very helpful, very gentleman. Only good things to say about Mon Chai.
the tour in Bangkok and around the city was very good. the food was delicious. Mon gave us to try a lot of local food. It was delicious.

My UME travel agent, Ivan, is very responsive and professional. He replied to my questions promptly and anticipated my needs. He helped me to remember what I needed to do to complete my plans for transportation before and after my tour. He made sure that I had the itinerary, tour guide and driver information before the tour started. Our guide Clifford was professional and helpful. Clifford understood our physical limitations and planned our activities accordingly. He always made us aware of climate and terrain so that we knew what expected. He gave us choices whenever it was practical to shift our activities. Our driver Mr. Sato was a professional from beginning to end. Clifford and Mr. Sato were always early, we never had to wait for them. They always put our safety and comfort first. We saw some wonderful sights and had fun together.

Lan and Ume Travel helped us organize a two week trip in Japan which included Tokyo, Hakone, Sapporo, Osaka and Kyoto (plus all the side day trips from these places). The overall booking process was extremely supportive and customized. Lan was great in helping with the itinerary get setup, providing guidance and feedback, and checking in on us while we're there. My son injured his knee just before we left and had difficulty walking. They organized a wheelchair at no extra cost in case we needed. Because we were able to have a customized itinerary, we saw a lot in two weeks that would not have happened in Japan .

Most things were generally smooth but with minor hiccups that aren't worth fussing over. I would reuse them again for booking customized tours in Asia.

Our recent visit to Japan was life-altering, impactful, fun and completely without worry or stress, thanks to UME. They kept their word and were always there for us. Drivers showed up on time. Our personal guides felt like close friends by the time we finished. They answered every question we had, and not just questions about the tourist attractions. Our guides helped us understand the people and culture of Japan.
