Wrote to Humax about a problem with the Aura app not showing a program guide. Received a prompt and very informative reply from Melisa and within a couple of days, which was during the Christmas period, the problem was fixed. Melisa sent me a follow up email which was much appreciated.

DHL a bit shambolic for delivery but otherwise ok. The instruction manual for the box is hard to find because there are three different unlinked Humax websites. And the manual doesn't match the functionality of the menus.

Humax Aura 4K Android TV Recorder purchased direct from Humax in March 2025.
It sat in my rack and performed faultlessly through 2025.
In December 2025 it started making a clicking noise and overheated. A strong smell emanated from the rear of the unit and a thin film of viscous liquid formed on the underside of the unit. Something had obviously malfunctioned.
Humax's response:
They cannot repair it and they refuse to replace it:
"Unfortunately, the only available option is to upgrade to, or purchase, a new box."
Please be aware that Humax may refuse to honour their warranty if your device breaks down - unless you are prepared to go to court (see update below).

EDIT 12th January 2026: Humax finally agreed to replace the unit under warranty and the exchange has completed. Humax deserve to keep the one star rating for refusing to fulfill their statutory obligations until I threatened them with legal action.

I had a small issue with the Humax I had just purchased. I spoke to Malisa who sorted it out in no time. All ok now .

Unit appears to do what it’s designed for however my biggest complaint would be the lack of information to set it up and how to record etc! We have managed to figure it out but the lack of information is the issue especially for those not technically minded.

Very pleased with the service, the unit arrived quickly. I haven’t used it yet as we are finishing watching programs on our old unit.

The unit arrived earlier than I was told. Very pleased with that. I am happy with the unit, it's very different to my previous two Humax units, but I'm getting used to it and finding different things.

My item arrived exactly as promised at the time of placing my order. Well packaged and free from any transit damage. Thankfully, Humax had stock available unlike many of the nationally recognised stockists. Well done Humax!

I have two Humax FVT 2TB top set boxes, however one started to develop issues so I purchased a new Aura.

This was a big mistake. It pixilates and the sound continually goes up and down. If you watch the signal strength and quality as more tuners are used to record programs and to enable you to watch live TV, the signal attenuates thus the quality is poor.

Ivan at customer services has provided advice and instructions as to how to reset the unit but despite his efforts the unit has remained the same.

I have been offered a replacement but having read on the web that many people are suffering with this issue, how can I be sure a replacement would not have the same symptoms.

It is definitely not an aerial issue as it’s all been replaced and the other Humax box works perfectly well as do the TV’s.

Such a shame as the older units have served me well.

My Remote for my HUMAX Aura Android TV 4K Freeview Play Recorder stopped working correctly. Contacted support and had by return instructions to try and put it right. Followed their instructions and 'hey presto', just like new.
They are so helpful and would definitely recommend their customer services as a 5-star service. I really thought I would have to replace the remote at a cost of £30 direct from Humax.

You had what I needed and it arrived very quickly.

They responded quickly when I had a problem accessing a removable drive with a solution that worked.

The humax aura is worlds better than the humax ftp 5000 that I had for 5 years.

Packed with features i am particular impressed with the Humax Aura app which lets you watch your recordings on another android device such as a tablet or phone & you can set recordings via these devices.

The tv guide is so much easier to use than my old one

Had a problem with our Humax freeview box.
Couldent receive BBC 1 and 2.
E mailed Humax and received a reply the same day from Marcus.

He gave very clear instructions on how to
re programme the
set top box and 20mins later we were back up and running.
We were beginning to think a new machine would have to be purchased.

Well for some time I've been buying refurbished units from you, and been very pleased with them.

Marcus was very helpful over the problems I was having with my Humax, They're solved now.

The advisor (Marcus) was a real pleasant and helpful guy, nothing seemed to bother him and he was very patient with me regarding my query of a fault on my equipment. He gave me advice and was courteous and pleasant.
