Appalling Customer Service

Hate to do this but I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope it saves someone else the stress I've experienced.

I hired a travel system from this company in April. Initially, everything was excellent - the booking process was easy, delivery was quick, and the pram arrived in pristine condition. I couldn't fault the service.

The problems started when it came to returning it.

I followed the company's return instructions exactly, using the prepaid Royal Mail label they provided. Before returning from holiday, I even contacted them to explain I'd be home on a weekend and wouldn't be able to return it until Monday. They reassured me this was "perfect."

On the Monday, I booked the Royal Mail collection using the two-hour collection window provided. Royal Mail failed to arrive during that window, and I had to leave shortly before 2pm to collect my child from nursery. Ironically, they arrived at 2:02pm.

I immediately rearranged the collection for the following day and kept the company informed. The next day, Royal Mail refused to take the parcel because of a labelling issue that was outside of my control. Rather than leave it any longer, I printed the label myself and took the pram to the Post Office to ensure it was returned. I updated the company throughout.

Two weeks later, I received a late return invoice.

I explained that I'd made every reasonable effort to return the pram on time, that the delays were caused by Royal Mail and a labelling issue, and that I'd kept the company informed throughout. I politely asked them to reconsider the charge.

I received no response.

Instead, today, I've received an email from a debt collection agency.

When I questioned this, I was simply sent extracts from their website stating customers should be prepared to stay home between 8am and 6pm, despite also providing an "approximate" two-hour collection window. If customers are expected to remain home all day regardless, what is the point of sending a collection time window? For parents and working families, staying at home for 10 hours simply isn't realistic.

The customer service that followed was, unfortunately, even worse. I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude, was hung up on during a phone call while explaining the situation, my subsequent calls went unanswered, and I was even blocked on WhatsApp, leaving me with no way of trying to resolve the issue directly.

I'm not disputing that the pram was returned later than planned. I'm simply disappointed that no consideration was given to the fact that the delays were outside of my control, despite me making every effort to return it and communicating with the company every step of the way.

It's not the invoice that has disappointed me most - it's the complete lack of professionalism, empathy and customer service.

Based on my experience, I wouldn't use this company again and would encourage others to consider this before hiring from them.

High chairs for a party - smooth process and easy to do!

I booked three high chairs for a party, they arrived on time, were extremely clean and looked brand new!
We had a great time at the party and I shipped them back at the post office. I kept the very large box they arrived in to ship them back in, it was hard to carry but it was no trouble at the post office.
Everything went smoothly, highly reccomend!

Great Joolz Aer 2 rental

Tiny Explorers made the process of renting a pram for our holiday seamless. The Joolz was in fantastic, as new condition with all the accessories needed.
Being able to pick the pram up from their warehouse also meant I didn't need to wait in for the postman!
5* service!

I hired a special car seat for my baby in a spica cast, only 2 car seats to try for this cast, my little one didn't fit in the one we hired. I asked for a refund after paying for 3months and quite a bit of money, they said my baby must have fitted or they are the first not to! I sent a OT letter from hospital as proof. They said no refund, I asked for a exchange and they have been nothing but rude from the word go and keep saying they are shut during opening hours, they are rude when messaging on WhatsApp and speaking on the phone to me and my partner! No customer service skills. After a few weeks without a car seat, I said my 1 year old is stuck indoors bored please can they exchange the car seat, so we can at least try the other one. They said we can go on the waiting list but said it with attitude. We said there's no need to speak to us the way you do it's rude, when we are talking to you with respect and being poilte, they said the case is closed and they are not sending one now. They have just taken our money, even though we sent the car seat straight back. This is the truth and I am never ordering from this company again!

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you are disappointed with your experience, however we feel it is important to clarify the facts.

You contacted us regarding a specialist spica car seat, and we supplied the model you requested. After receiving the seat, you advised that your child did not fit comfortably and requested an exchange to the alternative spica car seat option.

Our team responded promptly and explained that, unfortunately, we had no immediate availability of the alternative seat due to exceptionally high demand. We added you to the waiting list and advised that as soon as a seat became available, it would be sent to you. At the time of writing, only three working days had passed since your exchange request. While we appreciate the urgency of your situation, we cannot provide stock that is not currently available.

We would also like to address the comments regarding our team's conduct. Throughout our communications, our staff remained professional and focused on finding a solution within the constraints of available stock. Unfortunately, both our team members and business received a number of communications from you and your partner which contained abusive and hostile language. We understand that caring for a child in a spica cast is an incredibly stressful situation, but we will not tolerate harassment or verbal abuse directed at our staff.

We have never suggested that your child's circumstances were untrue, nor have we dismissed the information provided by your occupational therapist. Our position was simply that the seat originally supplied was the seat requested, and any exchange remained subject to availability.

As a small family business, we work hard to support families requiring specialist equipment and understand how important these products are. Whilst we regret that we have been unable to meet your expectations on this occasion, we stand by the professional manner in which our team handled the matter and remain committed to treating all customers with respect and fairness.

We wish your child all the very best with their recovery.

Easy process, helpful staff…

I rented this buggy to test with my granddaughter who has special needs. Tiny Explorers were very helpful and prompt in supply. I had a query as the item delivered did not exactly match the order but this was resolved very easily. And again, I had difficulty with the return process but the team organised it for me with no problem.

Great process and products

Really simple process for ordering and returning items. My item (Flyaway bed) was brand new in the box. It made our flight so much easier. Would definitely recommend and use Tiny Explorers again!

Book the hire

Delivered on time and easy returns.
Car seats were perfect as expected, great service all round! Would definitely use again for car seat hire for a holiday. Recommend!

I needed a car seat for my toddler…

I needed a car seat for my toddler during our trip to the UK, and a friend recommended Timy Explorers. I'm so pleased I chose them! The car seat was excellent quality, and most importantly, both the delivery and collection were straightforward. I would definitely recommend Timy Explorers to anyone travelling with young children.

Amazing service could not rave about…

Amazing service could not rave about this company enough. It was so easy and so cheap for such an amazing service and product. I contacted on what’s app through the website the Thursday night to place an order the Friday. I picked the pram got the address and drove there the Friday before my holiday began the Saturday. I paid cash and it was so easy they gave me the pram I picked and I took it on holiday for 14 days as confirmed and arranged. I then dropped it off the Friday and it was easy handed it over my name was confirmed and off I went . I was insane and I can’t wait to tell all my mum friends about the service as I will use this everytime now .

Communication was clear, prompt and easy. Delivery of the seats was on time ready for our holiday to Orlando and they were of good quality. I would definitely use them again and would recommend to others!

We rented the hoppie buggy carrier to…

We rented the hoppie buggy carrier to take with us on holiday as the heat etc is lot for 5 year to walk in. This was amazing! It arrived on time, was amazing to rent this compared to buy as we may not have another use for it. The service was fantastic and it’s such a relief to know that this option is available to travelling mums!
