I wish I had done my due diligence before ordering here! I drive past all the time so naturally thought to purchase made to measure curtains from them and trust them to bring my vision to life.
The staff on my initial visit were a bit short with me, but I found the fabric I wanted quickly and booked in to be measured up.
I had the measurements man out twice, his measurements were very shoddily done but I gave him the benefit of the doubt, since he must do this a lot as his job dictates.
Lo and behold when my curtains were ready, they were the wrong length! When I initially rang the store to complain, they advised to put the hooks on a different line to assist!! Which is ridiculous. I did as I was asked and it was still not right so I returned them to the store to be altered.
I was told by the member of staff that I should have essentially micromanaged the fitter to have it correct, and ask questions, that as a novice to curtain making, I would have no idea to ask! I was astounded. They dismissed the fact that I had paid a lot of money out in advance and that I needed this to be right.
Luckily; after they were altered, when put up for the second time, they are now the right length.
However, the workmanship is not the best and the lining is cheap and flimsy. My ex mother in law made the old curtains as an amateur curtain maker and they were more well made than these, fully thickly lined and light blocking, which these as professionally made are not. I wonder how well they will hold up to retaining heat in the winter, probably not very well since they are see through!
However the fabric that I chose, I am happy with; which was mainly for the colour rather than the type.
I would never visit this store again for any home decor due to the bad experience. I wish I had just gone to Dunelm rather than a local business, which is bad!
Also, they want £50 extra to fit the curtains, which, if done by the same member of staff who did the measuring, would be a travesty!

I did not expect the company to take any ounce of responsibility, as this reply shows. I was not offered blackout lining at all, so that is false. I also fully explained to the fitter how I wanted the curtains to fit for the length. I was told I should have asked better questions to the fitter; which as a novice, I still reject- if anything; they should have a comprehensive checklist to go through with the customer. They clearly do not give an inkling about customer satisfaction and are clearly here to make money. I have seen from other recent reviews just what this company is like.
Also- courtesy. As I was paying a large amount of money upfront, the measurements needed to be right. It goes to show the ethos of this company that they think this was “above and beyond”. The measurements were still wrong after this visit, so what does that tell you?
Use this company at your own peril, AVOID!

Jackie provided excellent service from start to finish – quick, efficient, and a pleasure to deal with. Everything was handled smoothly and professionally, and the finished result exceeded my expectations.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely order again.
I bought made to measure curtains from the curtain store. The quality of the workmanship was extremely poor. I had to take the curtains back twice. The first time they rectified the fault while I waited. The second time the curtains had to be sent back to the workshop. Even though I had waited several weeks to get the curtains in the first place they refused to treat the repair as a priority because they were’busy with other customers orders’. It took over two and a half weeks for the repair to be completed.
Made a purchase on Saturday, item was £30 cheaper than at a different 'outlet'. Served by a very friendly and efficient gentleman, called Ian. I popped back the next day for an extra part and couldn't fine it on the shelf. Ian recognised me and went above and beyond to help me. Great service. Would recommend.
Would not use again. Spent 12k on curtains for 4 rooms, which looking back now seems outrageous but we’re led up a garden path with time scales and how amazing they would be etc etc. Firstly was told 5 weeks when we placed the order which then turned out to be more like 12 with having to continuously chase. The initial fitting happened and a sheer hadn’t been done, this has just been put up 2 days ago which is over 4 month after the order was placed!!! 6 weeks after we were told they had it!! We were also told the curtains would be steamed… they are creased to bits. But not to worry as you just then get told after they have been fitted ‘usually the creases drop out with the heat’. Finally and probably the most frustrating part is the fibers coming off the curtains, it’s as if they have been stored in a dusty dirty warehouse for god knows how long. I’m 31 weeks pregnant and can not go into the rooms where they have been hung because of how bad it is, I can feel it on my chest and your eyes sting if you go into the rooms. Even the ones that have been hanging for 6 weeks with constant hoovering are still producing a ridiculous amount, we can’t even use them as curtains because the second you touch them you can just see the wave of crap coming off them. It’s giving cheap and nasty but at the price we paid I’d really expect the complete opposite. Had we of been told the correct timescales originally we wouldn’t have even gone with this company.
Another too add, 2 weeks before our initial fitting they were calling off the hook desperate for the remaining 50% payment right before the end of the month, I’m talking calling every day sometimes twice the second the end of the month passed I didn’t another call, but hadn’t paid the balance, purposefully I may add as we could see right through them and were already incredibly fed up at this point. Unpleasantly sale like attitude. Wouldn’t recommend, wouldn’t use again and if it wasn’t for the amount of money we’ve spent I’d of ripped them down and put them in them in the bin.
To add… my concerns were raised, nothing was done. The second curtains were purchased prior to the first ones being fitted at around the 7 week mark of waiting. My new home has absolutely nothing to do with the fibres coming off the curtains and what an absolute shame that you’d even suggest so, it isn’t dust… it’s fabric fibres, I had even requested the second lot be shaken outside before fitting because of how bad it was. I had requested them to be steamed too. There was no mention of two separate waiting times when we purchased. The sheer that was missed was fitted 6 weeks later, if this is your standard of ‘shortly after’ you have indeed backed my point. Shaped curtains not usually undertaken? That is interesting considering the amount of different ones that had been mentioned to me.
Your reply has simply proven that the company in whole just try to lie their way through. I’ve also noted there are plenty of other reviews with a very similar experience.

I recently purchased black wooden blinds and couldn’t be happier with them. They are great quality, look fantastic and were reasonably priced. Fitting was quick and hassle free. Highly recommend for anyone looking for stylish blinds.
Awful customer service. Was kept waiting for over half an hour and in the end had to leave. I was told someone would phone me the next day-no contact. Clearly I didn’t look old enough or rich enough for the snotty supervisor to be bothered.
I went back into the store and queried the cost of the fabric in store versus online. The website does not state that prices are online only. Paid for curtains and was told the supervisor would be consulted re prices when she was next in. Received a call and was told that prices are higher in store as you receive a consultation from staff. Their website advertises free in store consultations so this is just rubbish. Of course too late to cancel so was scammed out of hundreds of pounds and had my time wasted. Take a free consultation and make sure you order online or go elsewhere. I’ll take my £1k elsewhere next time.

I moved into a new home last year. I needed both curtains and furniture, I was delighted to find both available at The Curtain Store at Home. The service from everyone was impeccable. From the lovely men who came to measure up my windows, to the lovely staff in store. I was impressed by the range available, in both textiles and furniture. I have used The Curtain Store at Home multiple times now, each time receiving the same great service. I will continue to use them in the future.
I was unsure as what to get for my new flat. The service and recommendations from the staff were wonderful. A great selection of fabrics and other materials. My made to measure curtains arrived and were fitted in no time at all. I will definitely return.
First class service, we hade 6 sets of curtains measured and custom made. The service recieved throughout was first class efficient and nothing was a problem. Highly recommended.
Sylvia who is the buyer, took lots of time to show me the various curtain fabrics and styles as I was absolutely clueless about it all and that really made the difference to me. The two chaps who came to fit them did a great job so overall I am very happy with the product and service I received.

Appalling and dishonest. Was told my friends Italian sofa would be 8 weeks, checked and confirmed that was correct, maybe a day or too late tops. 11 weeks later we finally got it. In between the service and lies was a Joe. No calls back when chasing up. Lied about refund policy, lied about when it would be in, given 3 different dates, fobbed off with we are busy, short staffed, on deliveries... lied about a call from area manager, they don’t have one, manager can’t take feedback, she then refuses to speak with you when you explain about the lies, disrespect to customers and shoddy unacceptable service, incompetent of delivering on promises. Why not just tell your customer the delivery is 10-12 weeks instead of saying 8 weeks then when it’s delayed blaming it on coming from Italy,, disgusted in the service, seems the staff are scared of someone, why lie about timing and management structure.. deal with your mistakes. The one plus was the guys who delivered, extremely professional and very helpful, quick and tidy. Shame about store staff.
