Had a preorder on a limited edition item which they forgot to order, now have I have to pay twice the money to get that same item somewhere else. Customer service was absolutely atrocious too, won’t be coming back.

I was using Tenso for auctions on Yahoo Japan. For the most part, things were okay. I would bid, purchase, and the items were received on time. Recently, their policies are arbitrary. The auction does not block all "prohibited items" and allows sales to go through without checking. This happened to me and everyone collecting antiques here needs to be cautious on this issue. All antique items seem to be "non exportable" or in this case they can be "deemed" non exportable by this company using very ambiguous language as to why they will not send you the item that they did not block and that you legitimately purchased through Tenso. In this case they give your two alternatives: Send the parcel to a Japanese address or dispose of the item. Seems like a no win situation! What about a refund for their mistakes? What is maddening is that the items I purchase are all the same antique collectible I have been buying from them for years. Why now is it non exportable? The same items are on eBay for much higher. I have serious misgivings now about this company that I once trusted. Now I have been taken and awaiting a decision on Paypal for a refund of my money that they took.

I'm not sure why people are complaining on and on about Tenso's services. They are among the best and I will never go back to any other package forwarding service. I have never had issues with delivery. I always choose the EMS option, since DHL apparently is extremely picky about the package contents (they will fully inspect the package contents and see if it matches up with the declared price. If it isn't expect to pay a hefty fee when the delivery guys get on your doorstep). USPS and Tenso have always been very good to me. Customs processing time never takes more than 2 days, which means that Tenso filled out the forms correctly.

I like that you can also edit the price on the items so you don't have to pay way too much on shipping (if you are new to the whole package forwarding/proxy thing you MUST know that the price of the item and weight directly play hand in hand to the final shipping price you pay.) Just make sure not to abuse it and severely underreport the value of items or you'll get in trouble with customs.

The website is very easy to use. It makes ordering from JP Pokemon Center a piece of cake!

It looks like they raised shipping prices for EMS from around $40 USD to $60 USD. That's cause of the surge in COVID, many countries are now slowly starting to close down their ports and restricting travel. So you should get your stuff as soon as you can before it potentially ends up shutting down everything.

As a precaution I HIGHLY recommend you do not choose the slowest option (I believe it was called air mail or something like that). One package I ordered with air mail did get to me in exactly 2 months, but the box and contents were a little dinged up. The goal now especially is to get your stuff ASAP. The longer it's in transit the more likely it is that it will get lost.

One thing I really like about Tenso is that when you consolidate multiple packages they try to use the most appropriately sized box that one of your orders came in. If not they use their own boxes. It helps cut down on waste and I really like it when companies and individual sellers recycle packaging.

Their shipping/customer service times are very fast too. Whenever I pay for the shipment of a consolidated package they always ship the next day and drop off the package at the carrier facility that same day too, instead of waiting for a few days or even weeks to do it.

I highly recommend this company. I do wish that it will stay in existence for a long time and not go out of business. Thank you Tenso!

I wouldn't recommend Tenso. I had an item missing when they were consolidating the packages. I had received all items in the same package except one item, which was an eyebrow mascara. They refused to check the CCTV. Not impressed on how the issue was managed.

I have been using Tenso for about 3 years now. I hope people are not mixing this up with whatever "Tenso Japan" is as it's a completely different website.

Tenso is a forwarding service where you can get a Japanese address. This has come as a blessing for me in so many ways, as I buy a lot from Animate Japan.

Right now, shipping is pricy due to DHL fees, but that is to be expected (it is a private shipping company after all). My packages get to me around 4-7 days depending.

I have seen people complain about their packaging. Word of note, I realized this too when they sent me a small item in a big box. WRONG! It's not them, it's the place you bought it from. They just ship you the item in whatever box the place you bought it from in. So, after that, I always request to consolidate my packages into a smaller box, or request to have my item shipped in a small box.

They are very prompt with answering questions. It does take about 6-12 hours for them to respond (unless it is not a work day).

I highly recommend them if you also like to buy from places like BOOTH, Animate Japan, etc...

I have used Tenso before multiple times and wasn't too upset about the price they charge, which is more than others charge by a long shot. My main upset really was the delivery times. No parcel I have had sent to me via Tenso has arrived on time. I have always paid for the quickest (advertised as 2 days) but I feel like they actually send as standard to make themselves more of a profit as no parcel has arrived within even a week - meaning this is a lie and a scam.

They have never lost any of my orders (yet) so I trust them and like that they give you a japanese address to use for checkouts, HOWEVER! And it's a big however... They have recently increased their prices I believe as I don't remember them being 'this' expensive. This now makes them unproportionally expensive as instead of charging a 500¥ or 800¥ flat fee, they charge ¥500+¥300 per KG, so a 5kg box for example will cost you 2000¥ in fees, far more expensive than competitors. Competitors also charge less for shipping in general as well. The only reason I stick with Tenso is the japanese address. If I can find another reputable forwarding company with the address facility, then I will be definitely switching over!

I live in Southeast Asia and have relied on Tenso to get things delivered from Japan. So far so good, delivery is mostly timely and never experience lost parcel. However, the fees (shipping and insurance) can be a little on the pricey side.

Long-time customer, but they have been getting expensive over time.

Handling fee is based on weight, starting at 500 yen then ~300 yen/kg, this is uncompetitive in a market where other companies only charge a 500 yen flat rate come what may. Consolidation fee also amongst the highest starting at 500 then 300 PER ITEM.

Did I mention that all fees are paid in your local currency? They quote the FX rate so there's another 5% gone.

Their only merit right now is if you buy things yourself using their Japanese address

I ordered a package using my Tenso account address and the package was documented as delivered on February 9th by the delivery company. Since then, Tenso has not listed the product as having arrived, and I have tried three times to get into contact with their customer support to no avail. Avoid this website- it's a scam!

most of the time i use this company theres some kind of issue weather they are forgetting customs documents on shipments or just the overall poor customer service. this company could potentially be good if they focused more time on customer satisfaction

Another brilliant delivery. Paid for Registered AirMail this time which was much cheaper, delivery time was showing 6 days. They dispatched my parcel out on the 16th of Nov. And I received today on the 20th of Nov. Brilliant and fast!! 5/5. Never had a problem with Tenso and will continue to use them.

Avoid right now unless you want to spend 200 USD and discard all items!

1. Lack of knowledge of customs. Encourage to send over the counter supplements without giving any warning or guidance; if the product is returned to the sender, they will ask you to discard the product without any refund for the shipping costs
2. No follow-up: never follow up with the returned package actively. even DHL can not reach Tenso....
3. Overcharging: wrong weight and sizes measurement; I was able to ship all lager sized items through other companies with a much lower price, but not with Tenso
4. Service fee: charging a service fee for any errors and mistake Tenso made (processing fee, domestic delivery fee)
5. Wasting money and time: you will end up writing 10+ emails, spending 200 USD, and discarding your items after 3months of communication with Tenso
6. Never apologize: their customer service never apologize for any mistake they made

tenso love high prices for their services. But when it comes to a high quality case, forget that tenso will help you. I received the snowboards at the Tenso warehouse for my clients. Due to the coronavirus, EMS has stopped going to many countries. But all other forward services began to send packages even to those countries with which they had not worked before, in order to meet customers halfway. And only Tenso proclaimed his nation above others. I asked to send the snowboards to Uzbekistan. But Tenso said they would not work with a country like Uzbekistan. Other services began to send parcels to this country and only Tenso considered it humiliating for themself. They did not accept any arguments and did not try to help. Tenso kept my snowboards for 8 months in tenso warehouse. My clients were disappointed and due to delays I received complaints that were redirected to sellers. And you know what Tenso did? They just closed my account and stole my snowboards for 1500 usd. And they also accused me of trying to deceive the sellers. Are they out of their mind? Keep the goods in stock for 8 months and do not ship it. And humiliating Uzbekistan as a country that they will not work with this third world country. And it is my fault? I am in shock.

I made an order through Tenso, then I went to the reviews. Seeing as they are quite mixed, I was a bit skeptical. However, everything worked out fine. I ordered a guitar from amazon.jp and shipped it to the address they provided me with. In a few days, they shipped it out to me and at a very good cost. The guitar arrived to me in Canada about two weeks later perfectly. I am very happy I went with Tenso and would definitely choose them again.

I just made my first purchase and I used Tenso as my forwarding company and to say I am pleased is not enough.

I absolutely love how fast they are with responding and they are very secure. Shipping costs were a lot but honestly with how in perfect condition all my items arrived in, I am not complaining much about the costs.

They took away my $100 off coupon after I spent nearly 1K to get it. And I wanted to pay for DHL shipping recently, which takes 2-3 days, it takes them 3 days to reply to my message and 5 days to actually ship out my package. Somebody please make a better company than Tenso.

This review is about currency transfer rate. Please be aware Tenso will charge more than it should be when they convert the Japanese yen to USD. I bought something it should be around $342, but they charged me $360. I check a couple transfer rate website & the one they use under Yahoo Japan transfer rate section. It should be $342 at time of purchased. (Yes, I do check the date Japan time of the transfer rate) Contacted them & they replied with there own transfer rate. The issue is still not solved and I don't think they will credit me the difference.

Horrible service! Overpriced and terrible customer service. Once you have paid them their share of the fees their customer service is nonexistent! They used to be good with reasonable fees, but ever since 2019, their service have gone downhill!

Please be careful with this company as my parcel from Japan was missing and until now I haven't received since they consolidated the parcel on 27 March. I did try to write to them but no one replied.
