Staffs not helpful , late deliver many processing and take time ,expensive , for shipping to NZ even less than $1,000NZD still need to pay GST15%

I've spent hundreds of USD ordering from Tenso and Buyee, one of their smaller companies, but NEVER AGAIN after being scammed and dealing with their horrible customer service. Checkout price was 1500 JPY — immediately on checking out, I was charged 4200 JPY, almost 3X the cost! This cost as much as the item itself. Buyee/Tenso customer service is nonexistent, slow, completely unhelpful as they just sent the same page from their FAQ over and over. Refused to look into it until I filed a credit card dispute, to which they immediately shipped the package to cover themselves! Oh, and when I filed the dispute, I found out that if you pay with PayPal, Tenso authorizes a RECURRING PAYMENT WITH NO END DATE and not a one-time fee. PayPal's customer service helped me discontinue the recurring payment but I would stay far away from this unethical site.

I’ve been using Tenso.com for going on 5yrs. They’ve been very good with my collectibles.

Today I did my last Tenso shipping order.
Now the shipping rates are so over the top, you just know they make money with their 'shipping prices'.
I already know they take a little bit of money for it but it never felt like a rip-off back then. Now it's just ridiculous. 2 Stars because their actual service is great but never again because the shipping rates are the biggest decision factor wether you want to use a proxy service or not.

They dameged my package because they are discriminatory intent.
They damaged my packages deliberately.
You spent the most expensive shipping cost and service charge . But you will get the damaged packages by the tenso.
The worst company ever.

I ordered a jacket (around 1kg) from an online store in Japan, and asked the store to forward the parcel to Tenso.com Japan for overseas delivery. Tenso charged me AUD105 (8,965 Yen/ USD70) just for a jacket delivering from Japan to Australia! They got very limited delivery options for customers. It is totally a rip-off! Never use this company again!

This company is ridiculous. They basically use the biggest box possible to raise the cost of shipping when you consolidate different items probly to get a better rebate from the shipping companies?Never really helping the customers to save on shipping cost. You'll better off sending the different items individually and it would cost substantially less 9 times out of 10. And the worst part is they won't split the package back nor ship locally to my other forwarding service that is going to help me take out the ridiculous amount of bubble wrapping they have in a ginormous box. What is the point of consolidation if the cost of shipping is going to be doubled afterwards? My other forwarding service would first inform me that consolidating may result in higher shipping cost and let me decide beforehand. But Tenso will never do that. I've used Rakuten global which is expensive, jpn-depot which is cheap but quite slow both to ship and respond, and blackship which is alright so far. But none of them i had any similar experience with. It feels almost like a scam that they're trying to make the consolidated parcel as big as possible. Avoid Tenso at all cost

I am very satisfied, my package that Tenso sent to me by ship has arrived. It arrived here from Japan to Hungary in 60 days, including the 6-day customs procedure. It was nicely and securely packed. Several of my orders were packaged as requested. There is a price for the service, but I received quality service for my money, thank you very much.
I'm waiting for the others on the way:)

I've shipped three packages with tenso so far, It requires more work on the customer's side but you save much more money, its an excellent alternative to proxy buying companies if your buying from easy to checkout sites like Amazon JP, DMM or various hobby sites.

This is the second time I've had problems with ridiculous packaging size from Tenso. Airmail was 4000 JPY. Seemed expensive but it was the cheapest tracked option. Can't add an image but picture this: a microwave sized box with two 6" plushies and a flat acrylic keychain, surrounded by empty space. Multiply my order by 10 and maybe the box would be filled.

If Tenso wasn't the only middleman that gave you an address to use for JP sites, I would gladly close my account. I've used multiple other middlemen over the years (Zenmarket, Noppin, FromJapan, Dejapan) and Tenso/Buyee consistently gouge shipping prices far more than the others.

I've had no complaints about Tenso after 3 orders I've applied for consolidation with.
It's expensive shipping costs now and with those unavoidable customs/duty fees be careful, if you order from Japan to Uk expect customs fees!

Does not even care about giving good customer service. They simply want your money

I really like using there service. They quickly respond and all my packages have arrived safely to Pakistan.

I hope they can include cheaper shipping companies; otherwise I am a very happy customer

I’ve left Tenso behind. Tenso is an uncaring, greedy, shady company. They charge incredible amounts to simply ship newsletters. They are currently trying to hold an item hostage. They are trying all their tricks to get me to pay for a few pieces of paper from and fanclub. I just wanted to close the account and they are even making that a terrible experience. Now I am with Blackship. Compare their trustpilot score to this one that they won’t even claim ownership of…

Tenso, in theory is an amazing service. You can use to your purchase all sorts from Japan. It can be quite freeing.

The biggest issues I have with their service is:

-Customer service
-Inability to copy address correctly when shipping with DHL.

Customer service, at a face value level is fine. This includes their updates, and asking them to take photos of items.

However, when something goes wrong they are not so forth coming. They do not handle shipment issues well, and they do not take responsibility for their own errors, especially when flagged well in advance.

This brings me to DHL.
Unfortunately, Tenso have decided that whenever shipping to me and I am using DHL, they either cut off my postal code,
or input something entirely different on the shipping label.

The person in charge of creating the label, does not want to type the postal code manually, instead they keep using a drop down menu bar provided which is insufficient.

Because of this, I have repeatedly intercepted my parcel using the alternate address feature, which actually delays the package arriving to me.

After raising to Tenso on several occasions, they have now started to ignore me on this issue.
Tenso’s excuse is it’s DHL’s fault, and DHL have said it’s actually Tenso’s fault because they should manually override it, which they can do.

Either way I am paying both parties for the lack of competence.

Now, seeing as Tenso absolutely do not take responsibility for mistakes, this makes the second issue a little more frustrating.

They expect us to use their calculator for the customs form. It automatically calculates the total value for the declaration form.

I have brought to their attention the calculations provided can be incorrect. They have ignored this, and printed the customs form as is. Apparently their systems are always correct.

This actually impacted a package, which they also supplied the wrong address.

DHL will not allow for an alternate address unless said customs is paid.

Customs for a mechanical error on Tenso’s part which was flagged to them previously.

Tenso’s very much a “not my fault” entity when dealing with issues.

They have been overall frustrating to deal with, and have caused a great deal of stress.

It’s amazing that they could input a registered address wrong, multiple times.
Given the amount of sensitive information we hand over to them for verification, its mind boggling they then input the wrong address. Deplorable.

Tenso is expensive, however you do get the freedom to shop at many different stores. However bare in mind that even if your items reach your warehouse, during the packing and posting stage, Tenso may be difficult to deal with, and prepare to state your argument to them should things go awry.

Since they want to use the largest size box to ship my items to ask for maximising their benefits, I asked if they could check to consolidate the items accordingly rather than one or two, 1 week passed, they still have not done it, but eventually, you need to pay the godown charges. They then asked because I have not answered that I want to use the rakuten coupon or not, because according to their policy, you can not use the coupon if you apply the consolidation. SO, why they ask me if I want to use the consolidation then?

Never using Tenso again.

Why the hell would they repack my vinyl items into a much larger box? Of course everything came bend!

these guys are the worst packers.

They use to have a monopoly on forwarding but there are many forwarding companies much better than them now.

Tenso are the worst at what they do.

I've used Tenso in the past and been very happy. But since the start of the pandemic, their customer service has gotten worse and worse. Combined with the shipping costs going up and up and up, it's not a winner.

I used to order Japanese sweets via Tenso. But when the sweet shop started using refrigerated shipping for everything including stuff that doesn't need to be cold, Tenso stopped accepting their parcels, despite my assurances that any loss of quality would be my fault.

I recently tried to use Tenso for some general items. Their customer service advice on the size of packages and shipping options is VERY different to their website. Their customer service (Ha! it's not good service) said only smaller packages could be sent. So to get a medium sized parcel, I will need to pay $300. I'm giving up. I will wait until I can go to Japan on holiday again.

I wonder if Tenso has lost custom and good staff during the pandemic. They can't help it if shipping prices go up and if parcel rules change. They could update their website and be clear in their communications, but they are not. Very sad to see such a good company go down like this.

I was hesitant to use tenso at first since Ive used their proxy service buyee to mixed experiences. But, I feel this is much better. The customer service was incredibly helpful when I brought a problem up and they ship very fast compared to a lot of other proxy services I use. My only complaint is their system for filling out customs is a little confusing/complex but that could just be me.
