Just got ripped off, paid for flexible ticket but can’t change date without a huge payment, and if I get a refund, I will not get the full amount paid as in the extra I paid for flexible ticket, which is not flexible. Really dissatisfied will not use this service again. And discourage anyone else using it.

Was great but my student discount didn’t apply and I have a couple of times. I called customer services but they didn’t help at all very poor services.

My recent StudentUniverse experience was rather frustrating, despite eventual resolution. I feel compelled to share the full process endured.

I purchased an air ticket from StudentUniverse on mid April, with full upfront payment. The confirmation indicated ticket issuance within 7 days; however, it was not received.

Upon my inquiry, StudentUniverse cited an inability to confirm flights, initiating a refund. This was particularly galling as their Terms and Conditions explicitly mandate "immediate" notification for unconfirmed bookings. Their 7-day delay, only responding after my follow-up, constituted a direct breach of terms and demonstrated unprofessionalism.

This delay caused significant distress and financial detriment. Immediate notification would have allowed direct airline purchase at a comparable price. By the time StudentUniverse responded, that opportunity was lost, and prices had increased, creating a difficult situation.

StudentUniverse's initial refund-only resolution was insufficient given the circumstances and harm caused. It was only after escalating the matter and lodging a formal complaint with NSW Fair Trading that StudentUniverse seriously engaged, ultimately reissuing my ticket. Brad, the head of customer service, was very helpful when the matter landed on his table.

While relieved to have the ticket, the entire process was an unnecessary battle. The lack of proactive communication, breach of terms, and need for external regulatory intervention for a straightforward booking resulted in a deeply unsatisfactory experience. Customers should not be forced to exert such effort for paid services.

24/7 customer support provides a piece of mind. When booking close to the traveling date and I did not receive itinerary, after I rang they email me straightaway otherwise I have to wait 48 hours. Recommended. Thank you.

Booked a last minute flight after missing my original flight and everything was perfect!

I had to buy more luggage and it didn't give me the option to upon check out. They ended up sending me to the airline instead to add the extra luggage. Would not book from here again
