Purchased my stressless recliner from Modern Sense Furniture Ontario

Purchased my stressless recliner from Modern Sense Furniture in Ontario Canada in September 2025.
Delivered November 2025.
Stopped working December 2025.
Follow up with stressless and the Modern Sense Furniture store was horrifying - at this time it is February 7th 2025 and I recieve an email on instructions on how to fix it?!
It’s under warranty. I am not an electrici furniture technician nor am I physically able to based on current medical state. Send someone to fix it. Overpriced and overhyped - poor quality and even poorer service.

Stressless kontorsstolar är inte av bra kvalitet

Jag köpte två kontorsstolar från Stressless via Mio och trodde att jag investerade i kvalitet. Det visade sig vara en katastrofal felkonstruktion. Stolarna är för låga även på sitt högsta läge och går inte att använda vid ett standard-skrivbord.

Jag reklamerade felet omedelbart, men Stressless och Mio vägrar erkänna att det är ett problem. En kontorsstol som inte går att använda vid ett skrivbord – hur kan det inte vara ett fabrikationsfel?

Stressless gör kanske bra fåtöljer, men de de är inte så bra på att tillverka kontorsstolar.

Koinor kann es besser als Stressless

ich hatte vor einiger Zeit ein gebrauchtes Sofa (Ella) mit Fußhocker gekauft, wegen der Relaxfunktion (Kippfunktion der Sitze). Das Sofa an sich machte durch das feine Leder einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Leider kann man ja - gerade bei einem Privatkauf - ein Sofa nicht vorab stundenlang probesitzen, deshalb fiel mir erst im täglichen Gebrauch auf, dass in der gekippten Position die Kante des Sitzes unangenehm in meine Kniekehlen drückte. Da die Füße auf dem Hocker tiefer liegen als die Knie, ergab sich daraus eine unbequeme Haltung für mich - ich bin 1,68 m groß und normal proportioniert. Ferner bietet das Sofa nicht genug Unterstützung im Lendenwirbel-Bereich, sodass ich dort immer noch ein extra Kissen zwischen klemmen musste.
Für den hohen Anschaffungspreis (selbst gebraucht) bietet Stressless hier meiner Meinung nach nicht genug Komfort.
Inzwischen habe ich mir von der Marke Koinor das Sofa "Eddie" gekauft und bin damit sehr zufrieden.

Stressless chair HARD AS A BOARD

Bought a Stressless recliner from Paul Schatz for $2991, waited 3 months for it to arrive and it's HARD AS A BOARD and my butt goes numb after sitting in it for any length of time.

The arch support is NOT enough either. Complete waist of way too much money!

Paul Schatz return is 45% = $1310.18 RESTOCKING FEE.

Paul Schatz's excuse for their PREDITORY return policy is because they're "a high end furniture store".

Being a high end furniture store doesn't give you right to rip people off with a ridiculous restocking fee! How is this legal?!

They claim it cost a lot of money to clean a chair.... I've had my chairs professionally cleaned a few times and it was less than $100; it doesn't cost over $1300 to clean a chair!!

Don’t ever buy this product

Don’t ever buy this product! We bought a Stressless chair and sofa that was delivered in May, 2023. After a year, I noticed the leather on the arms on the chair and the center cushion on the couch were peeling. I contacted the company after 15 months and they said I had to go thru my local stressless dealer for a leather evaluation. The dealer evaluated the leather and agreed that there was a defect. They submitted their evaluation to Stressless headquarters. Contrary to their local leather expert that they have on staff, Stressless responded by saying it must be a lotion or sunscreen issue causing the problem (not true) and the one year warranty has expired. $6,000 down the drain. I’ve owned leather couches for 50 years and have never seen anything like this.

More harm than good

This is probably the most expensive chair I've ever purchased, and it is doing far more harm than good. It's the armchair, zero gravity (I think), with attached desk. It's like sitting in a business class seat on a plane -- great for a couple of hours, maybe for short-term relaxation, but for a few hours' work, no. The "large" is too small; it's too hard and unyielding; and the experience of working with the desk is causing tremendous neck pain. The back of the chair pushes the top of my back forward so that my muscles are permanently tight (I'm getting PT, and this opinion is from the PT people); typing brings my neck forward as well; and there's nothing to rest your arms on while you're typing. I would give it away tomorrow if I had anything to replace it. I know -- I shouldn't try to work in an armchair. But especially not in this armchair.

Stressless Wing Signature Recliner

Purchased the Stressless Wing Signature Recliner and had it delivered in January of this year. After only six weeks of limited usage,I noticed very premature indenting in the leather seat and wing. I called the dealer with my concern and was told that leather does wear that way- I said I was very familiar with leather furniture as we have always had leather and this was in no way “normal” wear. Eventually the dealer ordered another seat and after waiting months the seat was changed out and the back of the wing had some foam replacement done. It looked “Okay” but definitely not like a chair of less than a year old should look. Now after having the chair back for a couple of months, it looks like nothing was done. It took me a long time to decide on this purchase. $4500 plus is not an amount I would normally spend on a chair unless I had researched the brand. Really sorry that I didn’t read all the negative reviews until it was too late. I will be contacting the dealer once again as my chair is still guaranteed, but really wonder if the quality is just not there anymore. Save your money-Get a LazyBoy-Sorry I didn’t

Nonsensical Endorsement of Stressless!

Stay away from Stressless Mayfair recliners that the American Chiropractic Association have “endorsed”. Recliners are not good for posture no matter who makes them; however my previous La-Z—Boy didn’t cause me pain. The Mayfair was comfortable for about 4 months - after that my neck, hips, pelvic bone and legs have been in constant pain. I decided to investigate the outstanding endorsement. After my research I found that the shape of the bucket (tub) seats often cause discomfort by forcing the hips lower than the knees, leading to poor posture and pressure on the spine. The design of these seats can restrict movement, which may exacerbate back pain. Yet the American Chiropractic Association has endorsed the Stressless recliners as one of the best options to choose?!? Unfortunately I believed their so called endorsement and am now stuck with a $5000 chair that is crippling me. The corrupt disposal society we are currently living in dictates us to research, research; don’t believe hype; and buy inexpensive so that you’re not in shock when you have to replace a basically new product. I have owned this junkyard chair for only 9 months!!

Hier meine E-mail an Stressless nach 15 E-mails mit Kika seit Juni 2024 und noch nichts ist repariert.

Nie wieder Stressless

Guten Tag,

am 26.06.2024 habe ich bei Kika einen Garantiefall gemeldet, dass an meiner Stressless - Couch Emily eine Kopfstütze in vorderster Stellung stehen geblieben ist und nicht mehr mit dem Schalter angesteuert werden kann.

Daraufhin sollte von Stressless an mich:
DI Wolfgang Erl, 1180 Wien, Austria,

ein Ersatzteil versendet werden. Das Ersatzteil ist nicht bei mir eingetroffen.

Die Firma POS wurde von Stressless für die Reparatur beauftragt und hatte für den 20.11.2024 einen Montagetermin mit mir vereinbart. Dieser wurde mangels Ersatzteil abgesagt.
Daraufhin teilte mir Kika mit, das Ersatzteil wird nun direkt an Kika gesendet.
Nun hat Kika Konkurs angemeldet und kann meine Angelegenheit nicht mehr bearbeiten.

Nun sollte das Ersatzteil direkt an POS gesendet werden.
POS hat mit Stressless per E-mail am 19.11.24 und einige Tage später nochmals, Kontakt aufgenommen und bis dato keine Antwort erhalten.

Heute habe ich mit 22047 Hamburg Tel.: 040 69698099, telefoniert und sende daraufhin dieses E-mail mit den Bestellnummern:

Meine Kaufvertrags Nr. bei Kika: 2270281137 vom 02.02.2022

Die Bestellnummer von Kika bei Stressless 2270299227

Kenn - Nr: bei der Firma POS 842277114

Mehr Informationen konnte ich nicht bekommen. Bitte bearbeiten Sie diese Angelegenheit zügig. Seit nunmehr 6 Monaten tut sich nichts.
Die Couch ist nicht zu verwenden, da die Kopfstütze in vorderster Position steht.

Zunächst muss ich Sie trotzdem höflichst darauf hinweisen, dass das Möbelhaus immer Ihr erster Ansprechpartner und eben auch Ihr Vertragspartner ist für den Service und die Zuständigkeit der Beanstandungen bleibt. Wir können uns nicht in die Kommunikation zwischen Ihnen und dem Möbelhaus zwischen schalten, es liegt ganz in ermessen des Möbelhaus der Vorgehensweisen und Bearbeitung der von Ihnen eingereichten Beanstandung. Ich selber verschicke nur Kleinteile, wie zum Beispiel Schrauben, Gleiter oder Klemmbacken.

We bought a mary power recliner couch it's uncomfortable.

We bought a mary power recliner couch. And within 14 months we had to change the end seat bottom with the middle seat because the seat bottom had lost all support.now 2 months later the other seats are flat and lost all support. It now feels like you are sitting in a hole. We have called and they said that's not under warranty. Save your money and buy something else.

Disappointing

I never thought I would say bad things about Stressless but I agree with all the disappointing comments on here.
I purchased 2 swivel recliner chairs and footstools and a 2 seater sofa in 2016 for £7,586 in the Easter sale.Over time the padding in my chair has become more and more weaker , I tend to drop down although I am not heavy.I never expected the quality of this chair to be so poor. Only the springs are guaranteed but the padding is poor. I would not purchase a second time.
I have had an upholsterer to look at the chair and it does turn out to be the springs are broken, the average person could not tell this.
Hopefully the seat padding will be replaced under the 10year guarantee.

Ridiculously hard to assemble

I seldom write product reviews but frankly no matter how nice our new "stressless chair" turns out to be, I could not recommend that anyone buy one unless it has been assembled by a professional.
The instructions provided are worthless -- consisting entirely of small diagrams and arrows, that are very difficult to understand. After wrestling trying to install the seat and back of the chair for 2 hours my partner and I believe I finally succeeded in forcing it together, although we are not sure. My partner says she doesn't trust it, and refuses to sit in it. I'll give it a try for a few weeks, but suspect we'll end up putting it for sale for fraction of what we paid for it. Just an awful experience. Hope others learn from it.

Collapsing cushions in sofa

Purchased Flora sofa and waited 6 months for delivery. Within a few months the cushions collapsed. Dealer replaced the sofa which took another 6 months to receive. Within a few months these cushions also collapsed. Dealer order a new bottom which has taken 5 months to receive. I’ve had 2 weeks and cushions are already collapsing. So sorry this has not worked out because I love the look and thought I purchased a high end sofa. Dealer has been wonderful but I’m just not sure what the problem is with the collapsing cushions.

Erstattung? Service? Nicht gegeben - Betrugsverdacht

Wir haben einen Erhöhungsring für einen Sessel bestellt. Leider die falsche Größe... soweit kein Beinbruch. Das Prudukt wurde wieder per Originalverpackung zurückgesendet und kam am 1. August bei Stressless an (danke an die DHL-Sendeverfolgung). Seither ist keine Reaktion der Firma oder gar Erstattung festzustellen. Ein Schaden beim Versand wäre ja möglich gewesen... aber einfach keine Reaktion? Für einen Möbellierferanten der oberen Preisklasse ist dieser Service unerwartet schlecht, ja gradezu ehrlos.

Køb ALDRIG en Stressless stol

Køb ALDRIG en Stressless stol. Vi har altid købt stole i mellem prisklasse og som vi har været meget tilfreds med. Men for 8 år siden ville vi gerne have nye stole og tænkte, det sikkert var sidste gang det skete, derfor valgte vi Stressles, da vores forældre havde det og de var 25 år gamle. Vi købte derfor 4 Stressless city som var rimelig dyre, men vi vidste de kunne holde. Men det har vist sig, at kvaliteten desværre er meget dårligere end, hvad vi tidliger har købt, den ene stol er så flad i sædet, at man sidder på en jernbøjle og vi har i over et år måtte have en pude i, og den har bestemt ikke lidt overlast. Stressless stole er langt fra som førhen, så køb ALDRIG en Stressless, hvis du forventer en stol som holder. Vi skal desværre igen have nye stole og det bliver aldrig mere en Stressless, desværre.

I spent 2.5 hours installing an armchair. The holes where the screws are supposed to fit into each other do not match for some reason. Got painful fingers because of too much pressure screwing over and over and I am not even finished yet!
