I've been going to Petco for years getting my 2 Golden Retrievers grooming services.
should watch for aOn my last visit they asked if theyny changes. I mentioned that my one Golden had minor arthritis in back leg. They asked if she was getting medication and I said yes,
an anti-inflammatory. They rejected her saying the Golden may be unstable and is a liability.
We've been there at least 15 times with this anti-inflammatory and never had a problem.
They said "The rules are the rules" and no exceptions. Unless another co-worker will do it.
I did find another groomer with a different company- no problem.
They need to disclose this rule when you set up the appointment so they don't waste your time.

We took the cat to Petco urgent care , possible uti . The cat was neutered about a year ago . They said the cat was not neutered , and wanted to neuter the cat . We brought the cat home and took him to the people that neutered him , and it was confirmed they neutered him . Petco wanted to charge us to neuter a cat that was already neutered.

My dog was recently diagnosed with pancreatic insufficiency. We went with the vet recommendation for medication and food. This particular food is hard to source, but available on Petco online. I had ordered 2 cases, uncertain of how long it would last. I realized we were down to two cans and placed an order online. Completely my fault, I did not inquire about expedited shipping during the check out process. Once I realized this, I called the toll free number and spoke to a representative who immediately reached out to the warehouse to ensure my fur baby food would be expedited (at no extra charge must I say). I was delighted with the empathy and customer service received.

The first time I used their pet grooming services, I've been signed up with Petco for over 12 years.
I booked my miniature poodles grooming online I chose all the appropriate options I wanted to purchase.
When I got to the location which is also my primary location for purchasing food I pointed out to the groomer who said she was in charge of that department that I wanted particular attention paid to the hair in between her toes and around her genitals, the head groomer (the manager of the department) pointed out that would be an additional charge, I then said fine I will pay that charge but show me where that charge appears in your paycheck she copped an attitude and said this is an addition to what the website shows I said fine I'll pay it but make sure it's documented on the receipt. She got angrier and glared at me and said fine I'll do it there'll be no additional charge for your specific request, for the final time I said I will pay the additional charge just show it and put it on the receipt she would not.
Approximately 3 hours later I picked up my dog I inspected her I pulled $17 out of my pocket for a gratuity she refused it.
Bear in mind that $17 was above and beyond the $100 and some odd cents grooming bill.
I reported her behavior to Petco corporate who uses an offshore customer service system they did not seem to understand what I was saying and we're anxious to get me off the phone.
I will never use Petco grooming again.

Petco has been great about providing for my pet-related needs. I recently ordered a bunch of new supplies from them for a new pet that I'm getting soon. Everything has been well delivered.

I took my cat to the vet for pain management. (She had been seen by the vet because they overdosed her on Meloxicam and destroyed her kidneys in rapid time). I asked for a refill to be called in for her pain and the doctor said it would be done. I paid for the Rx and 5 days later it had not been authorized. I called the office and found a "scam" going on. The Dr. Had refused to refill the medication and I had to open an account with their online pharmacy(Petco). Pay $69.00 and they will check with the Dr. And then send it to my pharmacy which I had already paid $65.00 for. Since when do you have to pay a pharmacy to send the Rx to another pharmacy. I had to pay double for this Rx plus $283.00 for the office call when the Dr. Said she would call it in. I sent this to the fraud division of the ftc and hopefully others who are scammed will notify the authorities. It has been 8 painful days for my cat but after 8 days I was emailed the authorization had been sent and maybe I would receive it in 5 days. It usually takes ten days. What a corrupt society we live in now. Once upon a time refills were simple.

I ordered my dog's Dendamarin liver supplement. It came today, in a mailer. The package was smashed, the blister packs of pills busted open, pills spilling out into the box. Not only is the medicine too expensive, it's not worth it to get damaged product.

Worst experience for grooming. They shaved my golden doodle from head to tail. Said she was matted. I completely groom my Dog every other week but I can’t do her under carriage so I thought I would take her in and get a professional job done. She had been licking a lot. Never ever would I have I believed they would do such a thing. She didn’t even smell like she had a bath. I think the groomer saw a Doodle said I’m not dealing with this a shaved her without bathing her. She also clipped by dogs ear with the scissors. This cost me a total of 169.00 dollars. Never will I step foot into another Petco ever again. Don’t trust your grooming needs of any sort to this company!!

They need more of a variety with their fish and products, they aren't the best at keeping them healthy, but the prices are fair.

Scheduled grooming online in Petco Mesquite TX, but when i checked in they changed price saying VIP appointment. The manager Brandy was very rude and was very disrespectful about customer’s time. They left a voicemail about price change at 5.30 for a 5.45 appointment. When i booked it didn’t say anything about VIP charges.

Ordered dry dog kibble that is not carried in their stores. It arrived quickly, but upon opening it, there was kibble in the box along with some sort of 'droppings'. My dog wasn't even interested in inspecting the box as he normally does. Found a hole in the bag under the upper corner flaps where one might lift it from. Tried to get a refund, but they make you jump through hoops to get it. First I could either pay $6 to ship it back or drop it off in the store. I chose to drop it off as it is easier. Problem is, they make you do everything to make your life more difficult. First, you have to wait a few days for them to get back to you. Now you have to take at least 10 different photos and send the pics to them, then wait again. If you take too long, they close the case and make you reopen it again, starting at the bottom of the pile. They don't feel like getting back to me on this issue, but I bet USAA will help me!

I guess each place varies , I use the one in Doral , Miami and love it as far as great employees and top notch healthy animals / fish .

The Riverdale Petco is hands down the worst Petco location I’ve ever dealt with. The Riverdale store seems completely dysfunctional. In the last 90 days alone they’ve gone through three managers, which should tell you everything you need to know about how that place is being run.

The current manager told me his name was Mark, and his response to a basic customer service issue was dismissive and unhelpful from the start. I pay a monthly fee for one of their rewards programs, yet this store repeatedly refuses to honor the benefits. Instead of resolving the issue, they argue with customers about their own program. It’s frustrating and frankly embarrassing for a national chain.

I attempted to escalate the situation and left a message for Dustin, the regional manager. Not surprisingly, he never bothered to return my call. That lack of accountability seems to trickle down through the entire store.

What’s even more telling is that the experience at the Harrisville location is the complete opposite. Their staff is polite, professional, and actually tries to help. The manager there clearly trusts their employees and empowers them to make decisions that improve the customer experience instead of hiding behind excuses.

If you’re considering the Riverdale store, save yourself the headache and drive to Harrisville instead. The difference in leadership, professionalism, and basic respect for customers is night and day.

Hice una compra donde equivoque la cantidad porque sus sistema de compras en la app no permite ver la cantidad que compras o pagas. inmediatamente llamé para cancelar y me dijeron que en 20 días hábiles me lo reembolsarían, se me hizo muy largo, pues ya pasaron 40 días hábiles y 5 llamadas para darme largas.

I wanted to order the special of 1LB for both my dogs to try the new flavor but it wont let me checkout which is frustrating as its cheaper on here than amazon

: Dangerous Defective Outdoor Cat House, Overcharged, Injured Customer, Zero Accountability $180 scam

I am writing this review to warn others about Petco.

I purchased an insulated outdoor cat house from Petco for an outdoor cat. Not only was I overcharged by $45, but the product I received was completely defective and unsafe. The house arrived with sharp, jagged metal or plastic edges, to the point that I severely injured my hands while handling it. This is not a minor defect, it is a serious safety hazard.

My cat will not go anywhere near this house. An animal instinctively avoids danger, and this product clearly signals danger. An outdoor insulated shelter is supposed to provide warmth and protection. Instead, this one poses a risk of injury to animals and humans alike.

I immediately contacted Petco and provided all requested documentation, including purchase date, delivery date, photographs, and proof of the defect. I contacted corporate three separate times. Each time I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did.

Even worse, Petco attempted to shift responsibility to the manufacturer, telling me to contact them directly. That is unacceptable. I did not purchase this item from the manufacturer. Petco sold it, Petco charged me, Petco delivered it, and Petco profited from it. Responsibility does not disappear when a product is defective and dangerous.

This experience demonstrates a complete disregard for animal safety and customer well-being. Selling a hazardous product intended for animals, overcharging the customer, injuring the customer, and then refusing to take responsibility is beyond unacceptable.

I am posting this publicly so other pet owners are warned. If you care about your animals and your own safety, do not purchase from Petco.

If you want a company that stands behind what they sell and actually cares about customers and animals, purchase from Chewy instead. Their customer service and accountability are incomparable.

They have a nice selection of products and terrific customer service.
