Keeping my teeth safe

Ordered a kit back in December for bruxism. Was a bit scary doing the mould, but I'd watched the video and read instructions - it worked fine! Sent it back and received my guard very quickly after especially given it's a custom made product. I had a small problem with the first one - I must have ground my way right through it, maybe there was slightly too much overhang it's hard to say, but I emailed and received another with no hassle at all, which has been perfect! Would definitely use again.

Dentist recommended - and thank goodness he did!

After a recommendation from my dentist I read the excellent advice on the website regarding anti snoring devices and ordered the basic mould to try. It has transformed my life - my husband is so relieved and we’ve booked our first holiday in the same room in 10 years. I have a ‘snore app’ and literally overnight my score dropped from 130+ to 15. After 3 re-mouldings to get a really comfortable fit, my score is 7.
As there was a sale on, I ordered spare device but the packaging arrived without the mould. I spoke to a lovely lady called Claire who immediately sent out another which arrived the next day. Amazing device, amazing customer service. I think I’ll stick with these self-mould remedies at £40 than spend £450 for my dentist to produce one. 5*

Terrible customer service

I ordered a retainer, top and bottom, indicating that this was a reorder and there was therefore a mould - this was only for the bottom retainer but there was no where to specify this information on the order form.

I received an email on 25 Oct saying the retainers had been shipped. I followed up on 3 November and spoke to a very unpleasant man who told me the email I had received had been sent in error because I should have specified that only the bottom mould was a reorder (see above).

He went on to say that my order was one of hundreds they had received and he couldn't give me a date as to when the order would be shipped.

In addition, the first shipment would only be the bottom retainer - useless without the top – and my daughter would have to use the enclosed mould and return it for the top retainer to be made.

When I expressed discontent that I couldn't even get an estimated date of when the first retainer and mould would arrive, and that I was not happy with the level of customer service, including an absence of communication, the conversation went downhill quite quickly.

No apology or reassurance at all - even though I have ordered from this company three times.

I explained that I could have got the retainers quicker, even though at a higher cost, through my dentist. The response was - and I quote "You know what, you seem to have everything under control I'm going to cancel your order."

In spite of the appalling communications and a complete absence of customer service, I received a text message 3 seconds after I ended the call saying I had received a refund.

It seems this company is taking on more orders than it can fulfil - although if it maintains this dismal attitude towards its customers I am sure these will soon drop off.

p.s. The retainers from my daughter's dentist arrive Friday.

Good service if a little slow

Placed an order and didn't hear anything for a few weeks. Then checked the reviews on this website and was quite concerned I wouldn't get what I paid for or be able to contact them. I also sent them the impression my usual dentist created for me a while ago and was worried it would be lost.

I rang them up and was pleasantly surprised to find they answered the phone quickly. Appeared to be a hold up with royal mail.

A few days later the impression and two guards turned up as promised. Tried both out and they feel comfortable. Very relieved. Would use them again. Lesson for next time is to send the impression with tracked/insured delivery instead of first class in case it gets lost.

Wouldn’t buy again. Misleading. Got sleeppro easy fit

Got sleeppro easy fit. Tried over a hood while. Didn’t stay in place. V poor quality. When I bought it they said no quibble return at any time. Bought I. May but because of Covid I didn’t get chance to return it. Phoned today and they said no return. Very very poor product and misleading sales information. I would not buy again.

I’m impressed.

Order placed delivered, mould done and sent, guard received all within 2weeks. Follow the instructions properly and you won’t have any issues.

SleepPro Impression Kit trauma

In Jan 2021 at SleepPro's advice I ordered the expensive Silensor for my bruxism, snoring and mild sleep apnoea. I received the Impression Kit but after following the instructions exactly the putty/tray became completely stuck on my lower teeth. No matter how much/carefully I pushed and wriggled (causing my gums to bleed) I couldn't dislodge the mould at all. Neither SleepPro nor Meditas (the manufacturer) could be reached as it was a Saturday. The mould was so uncomfortable with hard putty sticking into the sides/back of my mouth and palate. I tried to trim them with scissors but a large piece at the back was too risky as I couldn't see it clearly and it could’ve fallen into my throat causing me to choke (to death). Trying to grip the mould from under my tongue made me gag/stop breathing. It was incredibly frightening, especially as SleepPro/Meditas hadn’t warned of any potential risks nor what to do in an emergency. I also became afraid the stuck mould if dislodged might pull off my dental crown underneath it. So I rang NHS 111 who luckily found an emergency dentist just before her weekend closure. But she also couldn't shift the mould. The material was far too hard to cut through and she couldn't risk accidentally cutting my teeth/gums. Finally, after slicing off bits of putty around my gums, with her assistant gripping my head and my clamping myself to the chair she used brute force to wriggle/yank the mould off. The mould had been stuck in my mouth for a horrendous 3+ hours and left me with internal/external mouth bruising, bleeding gums, tongue blisters, and canker sores for almost 2 weeks.
I emailed SleepPro right away asking for a refund and reimbursement for my NHS costs. That Monday, I duly received the money but was astonished the company didn't ask for any details of what had happened. When I queried this they claimed they hadn't wished to “exacerbate any distress caused at the time”! I was more distressed that SleepPro seemed disinterested - until I pushed them on it - in learning from my experience to help prevent future similar incidents. Their response made me very uneasy, and further investigation showed SleepPro makes many claims without substantive evidence:
(1) Their claim of being "NHS approved" is based on a single 2014 (TOMADO) study of 83 analysed patients using 2 SleepPro products. This very small, limited study is an inappropriate, misleading basis for the company's sweeping claims about itself and all its products. (2) The rest of the “Clinical Research” page links are generally about night guards for bruxism yet are presented to be easily mistaken as research for SleepPro's products specifically. The company’s "Background, Worldwide Independent Research, and Details of Technical Data, Certification and Product Composition" are headlined but no such information is actually given (see also the unsubstantiated claims in the website’s footer text). (3) For a company incorporated in 2008 (Meditas in 1992) with "worldwide reach" it’s odd the website has only 370 reviews, mostly 5* and none below 4*. It’s hard not to wonder if these are chosen to give a skewed picture of SleepPro’s products/customer service. Also, the 38 x 5* reviews on the Silensor page are actually for the AM Custom with a few for unnamed products; if there are no reviews for the Silensor why not be transparent about it? (4) SleepPro claims to have "expertise in oral surgery and dental techniques" but Companies House shows the two owners’ occupations as teacher and (former) dental technician; where's the evidence for the company’s scientific expertise?
I asked SleepPro to back-up their claims and revise their online/printed materials with information about potential risks, detailed moulding instructions, and clear emergency guidance. But after being ignored by the company for weeks, only when I threatened to sue did SleepPro reply to say they were conducting an “internal investigation”. 3 months after the incident, SleepPro declared their putty wasn’t at fault and the problem was due to “user error” (untrue) and to my interdental gaps the putty had filled in; but if I’d applied “even, slow upward pressure” the mould could’ve been removed, that I'd merely experienced a “stuck sensation”! This patronising dismissal of the horrific trauma caused by their product and breach in duty of care is unacceptable. That SleepPro is more focused on deflecting blame and offering me money to halt my legal suit than on immediately making changes for customer safety speaks volumes. Would a responsible company resist giving the information or substantiating their claims as I'd asked? I don’t want anyone else to have to go through what I did. Please be very careful to choose a genuinely credible and trustworthy company.

SleepPro Bruxism night guard

I ordered a mouth guard from SleepPro on 12/03/21. I duly received my dental impression kit and posted off my impression in the self addressed envelope (along with a paypal receipt) a month later. It’s now been two weeks since I posted my dental impression and I’ve had NO communication from SleepPro to say they’ve received my impression, that they’re processing my impression or anything! I’ve tried calling them and emailing them. Nothing. I am lead to believe that SleepPro and it’s “parent” company MEDiTAS are one big scam. I’d like to be proven otherwise, as I spent over £50 on a product which, as far as I’m concerned right now, is gone - never to be seen again.
DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM SLEEPPRO OR MEDITAS! I would suggest going to your dentist! Lesson learned!

Have received mouth guard and have had 2 successful nights using guard - so far, so good. Although I go to sleep with the mouth guard in, I have woken up and the guard is in its tray?? (Don’t remember taking it out).

Wish I'd found them years ago! 6 stars! ******

Faced with another worn out, discoloured and smelly night guard I balked at the prospect of £100's for a new one. So I came across SleepPro.com. Did some digging into their background, US website and parent company. I had a few questions about their anti-microbial option (cool?!) and maintenance and Paul in their customer care division was prompt, polite and well informed. This and along with the genuine sounding reviews on their site and a great product range made me want to give it a go. I was pretty nervous as I'd not heard of them before but the teeth putty kit came out quickly. It was also very straight forward to install - unless you're not good at following instructions as some aren't. So I sent it back in their pre-addressed envelope (had to pay postage for that) and waited a couple of weeks. Just arrived today. Two pristine anti-bacterial night guards. Fit like a glove! The really cool thing is, I have a very wide jaw and I could see where they allowed for that. Seems to me like a great business-to-consumer site, that offers high QUALITY products at reasonable prices. I am now going for their new customer offer to get a harder version that I think will last longer. I'm not one to write reviews this glowing very often - but I couldn't recommend them highly enough!

Poor quality

I have been buyting custom fit night guards from SleepPro for a number of years and have been happy - however the quality of the plastic used for my recent purchase (same specification as prior orders) earlier this year is significantly reduced in as much I doubt the guard will last very long at all. I contacted SleepPro but didn't recevie a reply whatsoever. I will find another supplier for my next order - very dissapointing & poor customer service

Unbelievably Impressed

Unbelievably Impressed! Was a little skeptical buying whitening guards off the internet as I wasn't sure what the quality would be like, and how I would make the impressions (I have previously got my whitening trays from my dentist, however was doing these for my mum).

Communication throughout the whole process was reassuring, I received emails when my order had been dispatched and when they had received my molds back. When I emailed the team for some help with the molds the response was also fast.

Received the molds via Royal Mail Signed For - really impressed with the quality of the whitening trays - they are exactly like the ones I have from the dentist!

The videos on the website are also really helpful if you're not sure/worried about creating the molds.

Sleep Pro are a FRAUD

Sleep Pro are a FRAUD. I have ordered, paid, and received nothing - three months wait now. Despite an email said product was dispatched two days after my purchase. I called - no answer. Emailed - no answer. Do NOT buy from them, they’re a scam

I am sorry to hear you feel we are some sort of shoddy scam company! We do our best to react quickly and efficiently to all customer contacts. I must admit COVID has left us short-handed on the phones and for that I do apologise you have not been able to get through.

I can see from your order history we processed and dispatched your order on the 9th of November, an email and SMS message was sent confirming shipment. As the delivery address was in the UK no tracking is provided as we use Royal Mail first class, large letter rate. I note your delivery address in London is different to that of your billing address? Data protection restricts divulging that information directly, if you can provide the delivery address details you requested I can confirm if it was sent to the correct address.

Since the 9th we have not had any communication from you and we have been waiting on the return of your impressions. Obviously the package was lost in the postal system and it is only when customers contact us that we can do anything about it. As this is the first communication we have received regarding this issue, this is the first opportunity we have to rectify the situation for you.

To resolve this we can provide you with a full refund or send you a new kit. We are always happy to work with customers to resolve problems ad if you decided to have a new kit sent we would upgrade and double your order so you have a spare.

Just let me know what you would prefer and I will take the necessary steps to resolve this for you.

STILL NOT RECEIVED!!!

I have waited almost a month to receive whitening trays for my partner, I understand COVID is a factor in a delay in production time but this is ridiculous - I have been using boutique whitening after I recently had Invisalign braces two months ago and they managed to take my impression, produce the whitening trays and return it to my dentist in a week and a half. And this was during Covid. I’ve paid £53 for nothing. This is the first and last time I would use this company for anything. I also find it laughable that their page only has 5 star reviews. I should probably have done my research better before buying moulds online.

As previously advised your order was shipped by Royal Mail First Class, signed for, you have been provided with the barcode for confirmation. Checking this online, Royal Mail confirm they have your package. We do not have any control over its actual delivery time as this is now in their hands. Due to higher than normal seasonal post and COVID the Royal Mail is suffering badly. Please check YouTube for videos of the backlog and piles of post. Your package as confirmed by Royal Mail is in there somewhere.! Should the barcode details change to "lost" then we will of course remake and send your order again at our cost. But for now it is ion the postal system and will, according to Royal Mail, be delivered. We can do no more, we have completed your order and shipped it.
