We’re sorry to hear the delivery experience did not meet your expectations on this occasion. As an independent brand, passionate about our products and everything cycling, it's difficult to leave riders disappointed with a purchase, to leave a review like this.

Your order was placed on Friday 26th June, the team took the weekend off to ride bikes and handbuilt your wheels on the Monday, before being inspected and prepped for dispatch on Tuesday 2nd July using a next-day service. The wheels then arrived the following morning before lunch. While we always aim to process and dispatch orders as quickly as possible, our delivery policy does state that during periods of high demand, orders may take up to 3 working days to be hand-built and processed before dispatch.

We’re sorry this experience has not warranted a 5-star review, as we truly believe the wheels themselves are worthy of that. That said, we appreciate your feedback and hope you enjoy many fast, reliable miles on your new Scribe wheels.

We're delighted to hear that you love how your new wheels look and that they have made your bike much lighter!

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with one of your tubeless valves, this is most unusual. Normally, with the theaded washer on the valve stem fully tightened, they create an airtight seal with the rim.

I've emailed you directly about this. We can either arrange a small refund for sourcing a replacement locally or send you a replacement.

We hope you enjoy your new wheels, we're confident their performance will deserve a 5-star rating too!

Having reviewed your case in detail, I can completely understand your frustration, particularly regarding the time taken to resolve the issues you experienced.

Following the first spoke failure, although we were unable to conclusively determine the root cause, we arranged collection of the wheel, accommodating multiple collection requests at our expense, after the original slots were missed. Upon receipt, the wheel was inspected, the spoke replaced, the wheel re-tensioned, and then returned to you.

Approximately six months later, after a period of winter riding and indoor trainer use, a second spoke issue was reported. Once again, we arranged the collection and inspection. During this inspection, significant corrosion was identified on the majority of the spoke nipples. At that stage, our recommendation was a complete rebuild with new spokes and nipples, alongside some preventative maintenance measures to help avoid future premature failures.

While this was not deemed a warranty issue, we still covered the labour costs and subsidised the replacement components as a gesture of goodwill.

That said, after reviewing the timeline, I fully acknowledge that the overall process took far longer than it should have. Although this occured amidst a particularly busy period, there is no excuse, and This is not representative of the level of service we aim to provide. I will be raising this case with our operations team to understand exactly what happened and how we can prevent similar situations in future.

As a rider-owned independent business, we genuinely care about every rider who chooses Scribe. It genuinely pains us when a customer feels compelled to leave a one-star review, particularly when our goal is always to deliver a level of service that matches the performance of our products.

As Engineering and Brand Lead for Scribe, I would like to personally apologise for your experience. I've already attempted to contact you by phone but haven't been able to reach you.

In the meantime, I have refunded the spoke charge in full and would very much welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you directly. If you're willing, please get in touch and we can arrange a call at a time that suits you.

Un buje más silencioso no debe confundirse con uno menos sofisticado. Estos detalles son cruciales para ofrecer un sistema de buje altamente eficiente y fiable, con un acoplamiento constante y una durabilidad a largo plazo. En definitiva, priorizamos el rendimiento en carretera por encima del ruido al rodar libremente.

En cuanto a los radios de repuesto, ya no los incluimos de serie. Los radios modernos rara vez fallan durante el uso normal, y cuando se necesitan reemplazos, casi siempre es como consecuencia de un accidente. En esos casos, es imposible predecir con antelación la longitud o especificación de los radios necesarios. We're pleased to hear you were happy with the packaging, but we're sorry the hub sound wasn't what you expected. I am confident once you have had the opportunity to ride the wheels, your opinion will change.

At Scribe, our wheels are engineered with performance as the primary objective. Hub sound is simply an output of the mechanical system rather than a performance metric, and our focus is always on efficiency, reliability, durability, and ride quality.

A quieter hub should not be mistaken for a less sophisticated one. Considerable engineering goes into every hub we produce, from the machining processes and material selection through to the tolerances, limits, and fits achieved throughout the assembly. These details are critical in delivering a highly efficient, reliable hub system with consistent engagement and long-term durability. Ultimately, we prioritise performance on the road rather than sound when freewheeling.

Regarding spare spokes, we no longer include them as standard. Modern spokes very rarely fail during normal use, and when replacements are required it is almost always as the result of crash damage. In those situations, predicting which spoke length or specification may be needed in advance is impossible. Instead, we support riders through our Crash Replacement Programme and after-sales service, ensuring the correct components can be supplied quickly and efficiently when required.

We're confident in the quality, performance, and engineering of our products and would welcome any specific feedback regarding the wheelset itself.
