On call off my insurance policy taken…
On call off my insurance policy taken out online my premium increased by £117 I had no option to cancel on the same day as my policy stating forced by the company. Due to this on refund they kept £85 for a non refundable admin fee of £60 ans £25 as other cancellation! When I called customer service for £85 to be paid back they refused. The policy would have not been cancelled if it wasn’t for there error. The purchase date on the site confirmed this can be obtained from V5 registration details year of the car I followed the exact instructions online given. It’s only when the call took place George confirmed this was the date I purchased the car which increased the premium, there was no other option other to pay the extra premium which I did not have monies for or cancel the policy. Therefore I had no option but to cancel! The guy who I dealt with Trey when I called to why £85 was kept back from my refund, he was so condescending, arrogance and dame rude. RIP off do not go with this insurance company!

Having reviewed your journey, we can see you cancelled your policy because your premium increased which was due to an incorrect purchase date being declared when the quote was obtained.
When you bought your policy, you agreed to our Terms of Business and confirmed this by ticking a box. The terms state there is a cancellation fee of £25 if you cancel within 14 days, or £55 if you cancel after 14 days. There is also a £60 arrangement fee which applies to all new policies and renewals. All fees are non-refundable.
Cancellation charges are in place to cover some of the costs we incur in setting up policies that are cancelled through no fault of our own. We keep this as low as possible and only apply it to cover genuine costs.
We're sorry to hear your experience didn't meet expectations. We've listened back to the call recording, and while there's always room for us to improve how we come across, we don't feel this reflects the standards Trey usually holds himself to, and we don't believe the interaction was rude.

We've checked our internal systems using the numbers we have on file for you and can only see one call that was made on Monday 10th August, in which you spoke with our team. Our phone lines were open as normal until 6 pm on Friday, with calls being handled at the time you called. Our usual wait time is only a couple of minutes, so being in a queue for a while and then being cut off does sound like a technical issue or a misdial, given that no record could be found.

Having reviewed your journey, we can see that you were having difficulty completing payment online, specifically in receiving the verification code from your bank. This is managed on your bank's side rather than ours, so it would be best to contact them in the first instance to resolve.
When a policy is purchased online, we call to validate the information provided. As you wanted to pay over the phone, our operator explained they'd validate everything during that call, which can take a few minutes. You mentioned you were busy, and the call ended. Since then, we can see the policy was successfully purchased and validated online.

Deliberately misled insurance claiming they never received all the information, Took the full amount and want to charge £85 for a cancellation within 12hours. On top of that they want over 5 working days to refund my money. Avoid at all costs and don't be tempted by initial price on comparisons sites,

For transparency, we would like to clarify that there were a number of discrepancies in the information that was provided online when you purchased the insurance.
During the validation call with our team, it was discovered that several key pieces of information were given incorrectly or not updated when you obtained the quote through GoCompare. This information includes the incorrect purchase date and failure to declare a driving conviction for yourself and a non-fault claim for the named driver. You also requested the start date to be changed and brought forward. These changes required your policy to be updated, which caused an increase in your premium.
The correct information must be provided to any insurance company. Had your policy been allowed to continue unaltered, you could have faced serious problems in the event of needing to make a claim. It is better for you if we check your information at the start of your policy so that if you need to make a claim, it can be handled swiftly and without delay.
As a result of the increase, you decided to cancel your policy. When you bought your policy, you agreed to our Terms of Business and confirmed this by ticking a box. When's a scam not a scam...
Weird how a renewal always increases in price, despite no change in car, same usage & no accidents... basically same as previous year. And this is why I don't auto -renew, insurance companies don't value retention otherwise they're be some genuine competition between them and no increases in premiums.
Can't comment about much else, haven't had need to contact them 🤷
Reply from right sure received, so correcting this review, I don't "auto renew" but that's be clear right sure haven't tried & they're NOT scammers, my "scam" comment was more a reflection on the entire insurance setup, which is completely legal...hope this clarified👍
RightSure are "the face" of my insurance, part of the landscape...I will always feedback that prices are awful, they're selling the product so I feel that's a valid point...the "insurance company sets policy price" is a terrible "excuse", shouldn't rightsure, as a broker, be feeding back that prices are too high? (For context, I looked and motor insurance sector made a £2 BILLION profit overall last year, that'll be nuanced as it's an overall figure, so possibly not so rosy across the board)

• As your broker, we do not set the renewal price. Your insurer sets the price and we scan the market on your behalf to find you the best deal.
• We are not a "scam" - we are proudly regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and we operate with full transparency and stand behind the integrity of our services.
