Do not under any circumstances send anything to this outfit.
I sent a watch for service/repair recently and paid about £200.
It came back in the same condition I sent it.
It would appear the company has been declared "dormant" for several years.
I tried to contact them without success and their phone number is transferred to a London based insolvency practice.
Do NOT send anything to them.

Don't Worry, Be Happy

I had no worries. Repairs By Post guided me through the whole process providing the packaging, insurance etc. They completed the repair and service and maintained a very good level of communication throughout.
I was very happy with the whole transaction and would use again if needed.

Company has ceased trading

UPDATE: It is now 21 weeks since this company received my watch and I am still waiting for it to be returned to me. Despite sending numerous e-mails to them, RBP haven't even had the courtesy to reply.

I'm still waiting for my watch to be returned after 14 weeks from paying the invoice but have now seen this info on their website:
REPAIRS BY POST HAS SUSPENDED TAKING ON ANY NEW ORDERS SINCE 19th MAY, 2023.

OUR TEAM IS CURRENTLY FOCUSED ON RETURNING ALL EXISTING OPEN REPAIRS AND WORKING AROUND THE CLOCK TO SHIP YOUR PRECIOUS ITEMS IN THE UPCOMING DAYS. MOST OUTSTANDING ORDERS HAVE ALREADY SHIPPED IN THE PAST 8 BUSINESS DAYS.

IN ALL CASES, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL WHEN YOUR ITEM(S) SHIPS.

I have 2 watches with Repairs by post…

I have 2 watches with Repairs by post for nearly a month, invoices paid 03/05/2023. I have had no contact with them since, and when I have tried to ring any of the listed numbers I get a message saying they are busy fixing watches and to leave a voicemail, which is impossible as the voicemail is no longer accepting messages, as is the case with the web site enquiry form.

I sent one of my watches away to repairs by post and they were brilliant.They kept me informed the whole time and returned it on time in perfect working order. Michel Herbelin watch repair

I fitted a new battery to my Michel Herbelin watch and it still didn’t work. I sent it to Repairs By Post for an estimate which I then accepted. I was kept informed on a regular basis about progress of the repair and was delighted to receive it back in full working order.
I was also pleased to receive the old faulty watch movement returned to me. A nice thoughtful touch to reassure me of the requirements of the repair.

In one word SPIVS

In one word SPIVS, sent me quote of £144 which I knew was too dear, so reviewed quote and sent me one for £112, accepted quote of £112 as a legal contract, then get billed for £166, phoned them to discuss it rightfully so for some wally to start raising his voice, we agreed to have watch sent back at the cost of £19.99 which was fair enough, got watch delivered and was sent a new quote for £144 whilst staring at my delivered watch.... Whatever was wrong with the watch, all I requested in the first place was a replacement glass.
I'm actually amused by it all now and happy to have my watch back and be £19.99 poorer, what I've said is 100% totally accurate and you really couldn't make it up... Just looking now for someone to replace the glass on what is not an expensive watch and shouldn't cost more than 30/40 quid.

After failing to find someone locally…

After failing to find someone locally to mend my Sons watch ( which was an 18th birthday present ) I decided to look online and found Repairs By Post . A little apprehensive because I was sending an expensive watch to them , but the communication and updates we excellent. Price that was quoted never changed and the watch is now back in my Son’s wrist looking as good as ever.

GC black ceramic watch.

GC black ceramic watch.
Please folks dont use this company. Sent my watch in for repair as the ceramic bracelet had broken and needed a new battery. I was quoted £82 which I thought was a bit steep as I had already forked out £82 for them to change the battery and remove some links from the bracelet of a different watch I sent in. Anyway I asked them to cancel the battery and just fix the bracelet and they were very obliging. Got my watch back with the bracelet fixed and was over the moon THEY HAD ALSO PUT A BATTERY IN A REQUEST WHICH I CANCELLED (watch is very sentimental to me). After washing the dishes it started to take in water. Contacted the company who paid for the return and the watch came back again still taking in water, this time i was in the shower with it - COMPANY STATED THEY DO NOT RECOMMEND WEARING WATCH IN THE SHOWER DUE TO DIFFERING TEMERATURES ETC ( ITS WATERPROOF TO 100M). They then stated they would get back to me because it may need parts that they would have to get from GC. NEVER GOT BACK TO ME. Went to a watch repairer a friend recommended and he looked at it in front of me - showed me that there was no silicone sealant and the gasket was flattened due to the back being screwed on far to tight. HE FIXED IT FOR £4, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT £4. LESSON LEARNED

Sector diver watch working again

Repairs by post made it very easy and affordable to get my Sector divers watch working again. Good communication as to repair progress and a twelve month warranty on their work when I got my watch back. Bearing in mind that the workings of the Watch were replaced (and the discarded parts returned) I thought the time taken was very good and the cost reasonable.

Not a good company to deal with

I phoned and explained that my watch had been to Tissot who could not repair it as the parts were no longer available. Was told this would not be a problem as they could repair it with non Tissot parts. I sent my almost 50 year old Tissot Seamaster for a service and repair, they quoted over £300 which I thought was a bit much but as I liked the watch I thought I would go ahead.
The watch came back worse than it was when I sent it, when it came back it would gain at least 1 minute a day. When I phoned to complain I was told that as this was a vintage watch this was acceptable they would normally run at +or- 30 to 90 seconds a day, I explained it was better before they got it but only got told again about the plus or minus running.
I said I use a watch winder every night but apparently it doesn't work with old watches !!!
When I pull the winder out it no longer stops the watch which means I cannot set it to exactly the correct time.
I asked for a breakdown of the work done which I was charged over £300 for, they wouldn't tell me even though they should have a list of work done by their technicians.
All in all I would not recommend this company

I do not recommend using this service

I do not recommend using this service. I submitted my watch in good condition for a simple battery repair and it was returned to me with a missing crystal. I have asked the team to repair my watch so that it can be returned to me in the condition I submitted it in (with all crystals and none were broken) but they have claimed it is not their fault in spite of my photographic evidence showing before and after pictures.

Please exercise caution when using the service as my experience has been that the now required repairs will cost me three - four times the price I paid for my watch repair and also repairs by post will not accept responsibility for their actions so I have to pay a huge bill and have a broken watch with a missing crystal.

This deterioration is a common occurrence after many years of use. Our internal work on the watch itself does not directly cause it. Unfortunately, in this case, the crystals cannot be replaced due to the nature of the bracelet.

DREADFUL COMPANY

DREADFUL COMPANY. It took six months for them to repair (!) my watch, despite repeated requests from me they wouldn't keep me up to date as to why it was taking so long.
When I finally got it back the winder had no resistance and when I pulled the crown out to adjust it, the crown and stem came right out.. This from the workshop!
I sent it back and it took a further four weeks to return it. It is still not right as the day wheel doesn't operate properly. It will not be going back again.
Further, when they do a condition report on your watch so you can't claim they have damaged it they will say scratched glass, bezel, case strap and back, also 'general wear' on their return acknowledgement of receipt of your watch! My watch had just been professionally refurbished and was mint.
I will never use this company again.

Regarding the issue with the winder and crown, we deeply regret that the repair was not performed to the expected standards. The mishap with the crown and stem coming out should have occurred on testing in the workshop. We set the time before return without any issues and sincerely apologise for the oversight. We understand that this further delayed the repair process and caused additional inconvenience for you. We hope that the extended 24-month guarantee would offer peace of mind.

When you sent the watch back to us, we aimed to rectify the situation promptly. However, due to the backlog caused by the parts mentioned above delay, it took longer than anticipated to return the watch to you. We regret any frustration this may have caused.
We are genuinely sorry to hear that the day wheel is not operating correctly, even after the second repair attempt.
