Admin is a nightmare...
Admin is a nightmare... No claims made but trying to leave was very frustrating and difficult.
Orginally tried to change my bank account for my direct debit and couldn't do this online. Their webchat was useless so I decided to cancel. I was told I couldn't cancel for a future date eg end of month so I would have to ring back at the end of the month. I called exactly at the end of month and was told my direct debit was too close and that they couldn't cancel my insurance as it the end of the month... They said they would cancel it from the 5th of the new month and provide a refund.
It is now the end of the next month and I have a direct debit notice for the September payment and they have taken the August payment too. Useless.
Furthermore on a commercial level their pet insurance was double the price of a large name competitor who have provide twice the level of coverage and dental protection. I see no point in using them for insurance as they are expensive and their administration is as useful as a chocolate teapot...

I can see that you contacted us to request cancellation of your policy. At the time, a direct debit payment was still pending, which meant we were unable to process the cancellation immediately. Your request was escalated so that the cancellation could be actioned once the payment had been received. I can confirm that your policy has now been cancelled and has been backdated to your original request date of 30/07/2026.
I'm also sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your renewal quote. Renewal premiums can increase for a number of reasons, including your pet being a year older and any changes in claims history. While we always strive to keep our prices as competitive as possible, we are also happy to discuss alternative options with our customers wherever we can.

Thank you for renewing your policy with us for another year, we value your loyalty. We are sorry to hear your renewal price was not what you were looking for.
Premiums can increase at renewal for a few reasons. As pets get older, the risk of illness or injury tends to rise, which can affect the cost of cover. If you've made a claim, that can also impact your premium. Additionally, vet fees and treatment costs are rising across the industry, and these increases affect all policyholders — not just individual cases. Our prices are also regularly reviewed to remain competitive, but factors such as government tax changes, increased treatment and medication costs, and overall veterinary inflation have made it necessary to adjust our pricing to stay sustainable.
That said, we can also look at options to help reduce your premium, such as increasing the excess or bill share, or lowering the vet fee cover.

Good but very expensive.
Although I have to say this is a very good insurance, it is also very expensive. I made one claim and my insurance went up by over £113 per year. So don’t be fooled by the lack of a percentage on cost. They get you one way or another. This company, make no mistake love money more than you love your pet.

Very Positive Experience
I have been really pleased with Petgevity service during my first year with them. Claims are straightforward and I like the freedom to set my own excess. The reason I chose them was because I want to be able to choose between copayment or excess when my cats are older, not be forced into a compulsory copayment as many companies do. Hopefully this will not change before then! My only hope would be that they make it easier to review past claims online however, I would recommend Petgevity insurance.

Claims take far too long
Claims take far too long. There is no way to track a claim, you have to email. Whether you get a response is hit or miss, after being ignored several times, my third email got a response which was 'it is with the assessors' but it has been over a month but the initial email said claims are assessed within 14 days. I responded to say this and again, I was ignored. I was previously with Tesco who paid out within days so I will be going back there after this policy ends.

Easy to renew online. Worded well so could understand more easily. A lot cheaper and more cover than my previous provider. Time will tell if I have to make any claims with this company!
