Horrible Return Policy
The sizing chart is wrong on the website. I am a women's 9.5 and the chart said I needed an XL. Upon arrival, the toe socks were too loose. The toes didn't stay in and the heel of the sock was up the back of my foot. I was also expecting a thicker sock. When I tried to return the socks, they only provided me a return address in New Zealand. To ship them there would cost me $42 USPS. They do not have a United States return facility. So basically you cannot return these socks if you live in the United States. I would not recommend buying socks from Olive & Jet unless you are confident in the sizing.
I did reach out to Olive & Jet and they said, "...we’ll pass this on to our team..." They also said, "...we do also have alternative arrangements for international returns that we'd rather discuss directly...". In my communication with them, they did not mention any other arrangements for international returns. There website also does not provide any insight.
They did reach out again and offered a resolution, which I appreciated. I will raise my review to 3-stars.

Sorry to hear the socks didn't work out for you.
On the return shipping — we're a small New Zealand brand and it's simply not feasible for us to set up return facilities in every country we sell to yet. Our return address is in New Zealand, but you should be able to find significantly cheaper shipping options than $42 — this is outlined in our returns policy on the site. Beyond that, if you reach out to us at support@oliveandjet.com we do also have alternative arrangements for international returns that we'd rather discuss directly.
On the toe socks being thinner than expected — this is by design. Toe socks can't carry the same amount of fabric as a regular sock, as too much material between the toes causes them to splay and makes it very difficult to get your feet into most shoes. They'll always be on the thinner side relative to our standard range for that reason.
On sizing — sorry to hear the fit wasn't right. Please do reach out to us at support@oliveandjet.com and we'll work through the options with you.

Climb Every Mountain
Well, this is the second batch of socks for my family (daughter, S-i-L, 2 grandies) who are going on an adventure, climbing high mountains, trudging through mud and wet stuff, no showers for four days (eucckk). They haven't left yet, but I'm assured the socks are packed. I'll let you know about the outcome, once they're home, but, I'm pretty sure they'll be happy, not having stinky wet feet.

I live in Canada. I was hesitant about purchasing from a company so far away. I am so happy I did! The service was incredible! I was kept informed all the way, with tracking and information! I received these wonderful socks in record time as well. I think this was the best customer service I have ever experienced. Thanks so much! Never done this before ie, write a review on items I haven’t bought.
I was about to order 8 pairs of socks but - as I always do when using a new supplier - checked the reviews on Trust Pilot. Suffice to say, I shan’t be ordering.
One of the issues for customers was their disappointment to find the amount of synthetic material. Your response was that this fact is obvious on your web page. No, it isn’t! You really have to look to find it. I know because I wanted to check for myself and was a bit shocked to see the result.
Another issue for me was that negative reviews are banned from your Facebook page. When this was raised on Trust Pilot, you made no attempt to respond.
Not very respectable, really, are you?

We'd genuinely encourage you to try the socks before leaving a 1-star review — you haven't purchased or worn them, and we think this is a pretty unfair reflection of our product. Once you've tried them, we'd really appreciate it if you came back and amended your review to something more accurate.
On the product information — our fabric composition is listed in the product information section of every product page, which sits directly below the product images and size guide. This is completely standard across e-commerce — product details, including material composition, live in the product information section. We're not sure where else you'd expect to find it. It's there, it's clear, and it always has been.
On Facebook — negative reviews are not banned and that is simply not accurate. We would never remove a genuine review. What we do moderate is our comment sections — when customers are posting offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate content, we absolutely step in. That's a very different thing, and it's encouraged by Facebook's own community policies. We don't want that kind of content sitting in our comment sections as a reflection of our brand, and we don't think anyone would.
We hope you'll give the socks a go — we think you'd be pleasantly surprised.

These are awesome boot socks
These are awesome boot socks. Very expensive to buy 1 or 2 pairs, but the 8 pairs for the price of four makes them more affordable. They are warm in winter (really warm, I live in a temperate climate with nights in the minus degrees); they also are comfortable in hot weather, which surprised me. They wash well, hold their shape, stay up in gumboots (really important!) and have become my favorite socks. Yet to see how long they last, so far I am extremely happy with them

Waiting for winter…..
I initially only ordered one pair of boot socks as I was a bit sceptical after wearing another brand for over 30 years in wellies all day , every day but after wearing the socks for 30 minutes I was straight back on the website to take advantage of the great buy 4 get 4 free offer. My feet are in heaven!!
As I suffer terribly from cold feet during the harsh Scottish winter hopefully I have found the solution my feet are desperate for and I won’t have to adjust my review 🤞🏻

I received 4 only. Was told the free socks must be added to the order, so order 8 pay for 4! Sad this is not made clear at time of purchase so felt this was misleading.. different colors cannot be ordered on one order. I contacted O & J but despite requesting the free socks they wouldn't honor the offer.

Thanks for your order — and that doesn't sound right at all, so let us explain what we think happened here.
When you click our Buy 4 Get 4 Free offer, all 8 pairs are automatically added to your cart with the discount already applied — so you effectively pay for 4 and receive 8. We have clear labels both inside the cart and on the discount banners at the time of purchase explaining exactly how this works. We do it this way so customers can fully customise their 8 pairs, mixing and matching styles and colours as they like.
The only way the quantity changes is if you manually reduce it in the cart yourself. What it sounds like may have happened is that the quantity was reduced down to 4 before checkout — which would have moved you off the Buy 4 Get 4 Free tier and onto a lower discount offer instead.
We want to make this right. Please email me directly at angus@oliveandjet.com and I'll arrange to send out your remaining 4 pairs at the steeply discounted rate, so you end up with the full 8 pairs at the price the original offer intended.

NOT warm after a few washes, very dissapointed
i bought these alpaca socks from Olive and Jet, i bought 4 pair and got 8, one sock was faulty and they sent me a new pair, great service, socks were definately very warm on my feet in our South Australian winter, but, and there is a very big BUT, after about 3 washes, dried flat each time, they are no longer warm, very cold actually. my feet are freezing again. so they only last a short time, im wearing a fresh pair each day, but bloody freezing feet, im very dissapointed in them,

Really glad to hear you had a great experience with the service and that the socks were keeping your feet warm through the South Australian winter — that's exactly what we want to hear.
On the warmth dropping off after a few washes — we'd gently push back on this one a little. Cold feet can be caused by a number of things, not just the socks you're wearing — circulation, hydration, environment, and other factors all play a role. If you're experiencing consistently cold feet, it might genuinely be worth seeking some health advice, as it's not something we'd want to narrowly attribute to your socks all of a sudden performing differently.
With that said, we don't think this is entirely a fair reflection of the product, but we do understand your frustration. If you give them another wear and find they're performing well again, we'd really appreciate it if you'd consider updating your review. And if you're still unhappy, please reach out to us at support@oliveandjet.com and we can look at a return for you.

Olive and Jet Alpaca socks only contain 48% Alpaca, the rest of the material is synthetic, this is not made clear on their site. The socks are manufactured in China, nowhere on their site is this mentioned. They are most certainly not sold as described. I would not have purchased them had I known the high level of synthetics. Overall, just a total waste of money.

All of the details you've mentioned — composition, alpaca content, and manufacturing origin — are made available in the product description and product details tab on every single product page, and also at the top of the FAQ section found on almost every page of our site. This is very deliberate on our part.
On the blend itself — this is completely standard across the sock industry, and it's worth explaining why. Alpaca is an incredible fibre — incredibly soft, naturally warm, and moisture-wicking — but on its own it simply cannot do everything a high-performance everyday sock needs to do. Nylon is essential for abrasion resistance and durability, keeping the sock intact through the kind of regular wear and washing that a daily sock has to endure. Spandex provides the stretch and shape retention that stops a sock from sagging, losing its form, or bunching inside a shoe. Without these supporting fibres, even the finest alpaca sock would pill, stretch out, and wear through quickly.
A higher alpaca percentage might be lovely in a soft lounging sock — but that's not what we're building. We're building an everyday sock that has to perform, hold its shape, last wash after wash, and feel great doing it. If you look at any other premium natural fibre sock brand — Icebreaker, Macpac, Kathmandu — you'll find they take exactly the same approach for exactly the same reasons.

I bought these socks for my husband, but after I got my hands on them? I knew I was going to have to steal a pair for myself! We won't tell him. Perfect for sitting on my deck swing on these chilly fall mornings, and they feel comfy inside my hiking boots.

Fantastic socks
The only reason I'm not giving a five star rating is company transparency. I really like the socks (enough to make a second order), and the customer service is amazing. I just don't like that there is no mention of off shore manufacter or drop shipping. Not a super biggie, but minus one star.

These socks are incredible
I have suffered cold toes for years - I tried merino socks but they didn’t solve the problem. After seeing an advert for Iluve and Jet socks I thought I would give them a try. They have been a game changer- my feet are cosy all day - they are amazingly comfortable to wear - I have ended up buying the - but four get four free for presents for my family and friends. The company are fantastic in their communication- their delivery was fast - I absolutely highly recommend these amazing socks.

Diabetic socks
I ordered my socks but later realized that diabetic socks were available so requested a return and re issue of the unopened pairs I had left
This was agreed to and a speedy response allowed me to return and receive replacements inside 10 days. Well done. Highly recommend Olive and Jet.
