Very disappointed with my experience with Northern PWR.
During the sales process, I was told that the government was offering 0% interest financing for the solar installation. That was a major factor in my decision to move forward with a roughly $67,000 system.
It wasn’t until after everything was moving forward that I learned from the loan company that the financing is only 0% for the first 5 years. After that, the remaining balance becomes subject to whatever the lender’s applicable interest rate is at that time.
That is a significant detail that should have been clearly explained before I agreed to a purchase this large. There is a huge difference between being told you’re getting a 0% interest loan and finding out afterward that the 0% rate only lasts five years.
I strongly recommend anyone considering Northern PWR get every financing detail in writing directly from the lender before signing or allowing the installation to move forward. Based on my experience, I do not feel the financing terms were represented clearly or transparently during the sales process.

The regional manager, Jason, is one of the worst people I've ever spoken with as a customer. He talked about how all the other Solar companies in the area are defaming them. Replied faster to my post on a FB Solar Group than to my text messages. Said removing my panels would cost the company 80-90K, but was willing to move them to another part of the roof.

My mom and I are joint holders of our deed, and when she contacted him, he was so forceful in denying any of her complaints that she ended up crying.

Not to mention that maintaining contact with this company is a logistical nightmare. I was constantly receiving text messages from 6 different numbers, and up to 10 different people, over the course of my interactions with them. (Although, everyone besides Jason, was professional and easy to speak with)

Then beyond the personnel, this company refused to give me detailed price breakdown (including the costs of panels, inverters, etc), and used bundled pricing "deals" to grossly overcharge for my system. $48K; $12K of which was for 0% financing, $6K was energy efficiency upgrades, leaving $30K for 11 panels and install (which would be $15-20K elsewhere on the higher end). I noticed far too late to back out.

Happy with my experience with connection and billing with Northern Pwr.

This is my first time going solar so I don’t have any other experience to compare with. I have found Northern Pwr a seamless experience. I’ve seen my electrical costs reduced immensely. I’m really impressed that I can have both electric and gas all under their umbrella. I’m fascinated by how much energy I make through the panels and see how it reduces my electrical costs.

Dealing with Northern PWR has been a pleasure! Working with Talor has made the whole process seemless and they are very quick and responsive to get things done. It is impressive how quick they work to get things rolling and installed. They keep you informed very well along the way as well and more than willing to answer any questions you have. Installers were very quick and everything went well for the install as well. Would highly recommend them for your solar project.

Stay away from this company! I have had nothing but issues. They added almost $2000 when we revised the agreement. I did not see it at the time of signing because I did not expect them to be underhanded. When I suspected it and asked for a detailed breakdown they refused. I am now forced to take legal action

I am very happy with my Northern Power solar installation. Though completed almost 2 years ago, I am still in contact with the company. Recently, they noticed that I had not joined a Solar Club and was not getting the full benefits of my system. Kenneth worked with me to complete the applications to join the Northern NRG club.
