Mis-selling phone insurance

I am still awating a reply, emailed them over 2 weeks ago because i belive I have been Mis-sold phone insurance by them and only just realised after a year in contract. They added a free 2 month phone insurance policy onto my contract without me knowing or agreeing, i was not asked if i wanted it and was not made aware that I would be paying it for the length of my contract. I did not get an email to say this was continuing to be taken from my account and I have noticed now after quiering the monthly direct debit that I have been paying £9.99 every month for the duration of my contract, and have unknowingly had phone insurance since then. They should have asked if I wanted it adding on and made me aware that it was going to contine and that they had passed on my card information to another provider to take the funds. I am still awaiting a reply but doubt that they will offer to help retrieve the money. Next stop financial ombudsman!

I can see that your order was placed through a comparison site, which directed you to our website and into your shopping basket for checkout. During the checkout process, customers are given the option to add insurance or proceed without it.

I’ve reviewed your order, and the inclusion of the insurance was also confirmed in your dispatch email. In your case, the first two months of insurance were free, and you have the option to cancel it at any time.

We’ve now referred your review to the insurance provider, and they will be in touch with you directly.

I apologise that we are unable to help you further with this.

Awful service

Awful service, requested a new phone as part of an upgrade and I asked them to keep the same number, however Metrofone set me up on a new plan with a new number so I lost the number I’ve had for 15 years. Never go through a third party like Metrofone, go to your provider direct

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your recent experience, and apologise for the inconveniences you have faced.

After reviewing your account, we can see that you’ve applied for a new connection and not an upgrade. During checkout, you did mention having an existing number with the network. However, we do clearly state under this section: “Please note, you are applying for a new connection. Providing your existing number only helps us identify you with the network.”

We have sent you an email advising you of a porting process which will allow you to keep your new contract along with your existing number, if you need any assistance with this please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated customer service team on 0333 900 1133 and select option 2.

Fonehouse are brilliant

Fonehouse are brilliant, found the best deal on the handset I wanted, no upfront cost and 24 month contract not the 36 month contract the networks are now trying to push and £20 per month cheaper, customer services are excellent they were so helpful with the delivery due to my working hours, this is the second time ordering from them, highly recommended using them fantastic 😍
