Very happy with progress Tommy my case handler has kept me up to speed with what is going on good firm to deal with thanks guys

McVicar are exceptionally good from the start to finish and I have used them several times. The fees are extremely reasonable and the service is top notch. 1 instance where we had to pursue a client who refused to pay for months, did settle the invoice within a few days of McVicar dealing with it. That client has now come back to us (Payment up front obviously) and is now a very large client, and has explained that the way that they were dealt with by McVicar caused no frustration or anger between our 2 companies. I cannot recommend McVicar highly enough.

When you think that it is completely impossible and you are ready to give up DON’T! Maggie and her team were patient, kind and compassionate but persistent, assertive and determined. They gave me back my confidence and ultimately my self-respect. It’s not impossible, don’t hesitate to call this company!

Excellent service, left them alone and they did there job

The process from start to finish was seamless. I was kept informed, and the recovery of my debt was within 4 weeks and has helped me keep a business alive.

Contacted this company in January to recover a couple of debts for me so far so good obviously this isn’t a quick process. They have emailed me progress made and I had a nice phone call from Debbie who has just taken over as accounts manager, she went through a few things to familiarise herself with my case and said I could contact her anytime if I had any questions..so good customer service and follow up

Never use this company.Waste of money you are spending.when you paid their fees they never contact you/never answer your emails/calls

USLESS & DONT BOTHER.They were good from the start & I paid upftont.i have only had two small payments from Mcvicar where I'm owed alot more.Ive been phoning,phoning,emailed,left voice messages,and when i speak to staff they say someone will phone back asp or within the hour,but I get nothing from the company.I feel like they have taken my money & ran just like the person who Mcvicar who is supposed to be getting my debt from.

Recovered my money within four months of hiring them, was chasing this guy for two years with absolutely no end in sight, McVicar advised me of how to proceed through courts and then once I'd gotten the relevant documents they enforced on my behalf. Have seen a lot of negative reviews and my assumption is people get quite upset that they're being chased for debts and bomb the reviews on these guys but, I must say that they have done excellent work on my behalf. On top of that they even recovered the cost i put forward to them so i got back my debt and my fees. Very happy with the end result.

Never use a debt collection company before but got in contact last month with them paid a fee signed the contract provided them with all the evidence of debt and ccj and they where quick to get a payment plan set up after a a lump sum paid off was lucky

Am getting absolutely nowhere and constantly chasing with no call backs or email replies. Now well over a year and nothing and no pro action frustrating as we are not local yet promised they were the best.

If I could leave a zero rating star, I would!
This company are quick enough to email and phone you back to collect their fee, then you don’t hear from them.
I’ve had 1 circular email from them advising of a new email address to contact for any enquiries, but it bounced right back!!

AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

I can only assume that their few positive reviews are fake ones from their employees!

DO NOT PART WITH A PENNY WITH THESE PEOPLE! I really wish that I hadn’t!! 😡

I initially gave them a poor review but since then they have actually managed to get some money from the debtor and I received some of this today. There is now a payment plan in place so I hope to receive regular monthly payments.
I just wished they had informed me of developments instead of leaving things up in the air.

After the company had my payment (thankfully small amount) they never responded to any correspondence. I have no idea if they have actually done any work on my behalf as I cant get any update from them.
UPDATE 27-01-25
After various emails trying to get an update, McVicar fail to provide any response or be able to give any update. I am currently unsure if they have actually carried out any work on my behalf. This has been a very disappointing service and I am no further forward than when I employed McVicar. I will never use their services again.

Absolutely disgusted with their Service. Very quick to take my money. I informed them the NEXT day that the debtor had died. 3 weeks on and still no update on my refund. Their Customer Service department is only open 2 days a week and they never reply to calls or emails. Will be taking this further

Do not use this company to recover debt. They are absolutely useless. I had same experience as most people by the looks of things. They took about £500 from me in April 2024 as a fee and promised to chase the debt on my behalf and provide monthly updates. They provided two monthly updates, both of which required chasing on my bahalf for them to send me an update. then they went silence. Ive had a conversation with customer service in August 2024 and the lady apologised and said my case handler had left the company and that my case had fallen between the gaps. she asked for a few days to look into my case and get back to me. that was the last i heard from them. Ive also emailed them to request a refund on 20 November and still haven't heard from them. They're wasting my time and ill be pursing this until I get my refund as they have not fulfilled their obligation on providing updates and therefore my refund should be processed. If I don't get a refund by 20th December I will be starting a facebook group to completely destroy this companies reputation so that they cant rip off anyone else.

Thief and scammers they recover funds and dont give to you never contact you after taking your money.
