Worst experience ever experienced with…

Worst experience ever experienced with a rental car. I am still waiting on the return of my £3000 deposit which they took from my account. This is 10 days after car return so far. They say they have charged me £300 for a tiny dent that existed on pick up. I have sent 4 complaint emails and heard nothing back.

Bravo! Goldcar lifts car rental to an emotional experience

No other car rental company can offer such an intense experience.

1. They welcome you with long queues and understaffed desks. If you're lucky, you won't even need to spend your first night in a hotel – ka-ching!
2. You will feel in perfect harmony with all the equally naive customers milling around these desks. Shared feelings of despair and anger bring customers together in a fantastic way and make you feel part of a unique group. There's certainly no better way to start your holiday, right?
3. Once you finally get to see an agent (somehow 'agent' is a serious term) at the desk (typically after 2–4 hours), they will give you their undivided attention! This is because they have so many great offers that you simply cannot refuse (if you do, you won't get the car). For instance, insurance (which you thought you had pre-purchased), fuel taxes (when did those become payable separately?) and the second driver, who is now more expensive than when you booked. They will write it by hand on a piece of paper specially for you. Isn't that the ultimate in customisation?
4. You get a surprise car! They won't even charge you for assigning you a car that's very different to the one you ordered.
5. Picking up the key is a process that tests both your IQ and emotional intelligence. Who else offers that? This makes collecting the car key very rewarding: you conquered it — that's your victory! It's a victory that no other car rental company can offer!
6. Picking up: as soon as you have found your car, don't be surprised if it isn't in the car park shown on the voucher. Be prepared to see a "Coldcar" rather than a "Goldcar". The form says everything is neat, clean and scratchless. The procedure states that if you notice any discrepancies between the form and the car, you should note them on the form and give it to the staff in the garage. Of course, they aren't there. Thought so. Five stars, guys!
PS: Bring some gloves so that neither the car nor you get any dirtier. They will also protect you against all the cold air that will be blown before, during and after your joyful encounters... Goldcar now officially has become Coldcar

Muy mala experiencia con Gold Card son…

Muy mala experiencia con Gold Card son unos estafadores
El 11 de agosto recojimos un coche en el aeropuerto de mallorca y estuvimos 3 horas esperando para recoger el coche y encima nos cobraron aparte una Tasa de 57 euros y querían cobrar otro de seguro aparte de 357 euros y con muchos malos tratos
Fue horrible trabajar con Gold Card
No fiarse del precio barato que te ponen al princio. Luego te engañan y te cobran el doble

Gold car stitched us up

Gold car stitched us up ! We ordered and paid for an automatic and got a manual . We asked for a refund as an automatic is much more expensive but they refused and said no we had a automatic when clearly we didn’t and we gave then the reg which they can see is not an automatic but they still refused to refund us the difference! Very bad customer service! Watch out that you don’t get stitched up like we did !!!

WARNING to anyone considering renting…

WARNING to anyone considering renting from this company Goldcar (key a go): DON’T DO IT.
There are other companies out there that are honest and don’t try to scam their customers. This company is dishonest and deliberately tries to deceive people with made-up charges and fake insurance terms. They claim the insurance covers everything, but when you return the car, they suddenly “discover” damage or “dirt” that supposedly requires extra payment – even though the car just needed a quick vacuum.

The customer service is rude and seems to exist only to protect their shady business. It honestly feels like a deliberate scam operation. I will never rent from this place again and strongly advise everyone else to stay away. Choose a serious company instead and avoid being ripped off.

Their car breaks down and they're…

Their car breaks down and they're trying to get me to pay for roadside assistance which was part of the rental.

They're no good and replying to emails.

After you leave the country they try to charge you for their car breaking down.

See attached proof.

I won't be using them again.

Goldcar tvang os til at købe en…

Goldcar tvang os til at købe en forsikring, som kostede 3 gange så meget som selve biludlejningen. Jeg havde booket og betalt billeje hjemmefra (igennem hotels.com), 800 kr for 5 dage plus 400 kr i forsikring, dvs 1200 kr i alt for 5 dage, men i Palma lufthavn på Mallorca, sagde de at vi skulle betale gebyr / taxes, og at vi skulle betale for en fuld forsikring for bilen. Jeg havde hjemmefra betalt for en ekstra forsikring. Men den var åbenbart ikke nok. Jeg sagde at jeg også havde en forsikring hjemme i Danmark, men de sagde blot at i Spanien samarbejder de IKKE med udenlandske, private forsikringsselskaber. Hvis ikke jeg købte deres ekstra forsikring til 2000 kr (inkl taxes), så ville de reservere 20.000 kr i alt på mine to credit og visa kort. Og hvis der var en skade eller andet, så ville de trække de penge fra min konto.
Det havde været billigere for os at gå derfra, og miste de 1200 kr jeg havde betalt til at begynde med, og bare tage en taxa frem og tilbage. Men jeg endte med at betale 3200 kr for 5 dages billeje.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I never write reviews but after my experience with goldcar I have to warn others to not use this company.

Firstly I was charged and extra full day rent for being 10 minutes late for my drop off time. But by far the worst experience was I was charged a parking fine and rang them about this and they said they would charge me £40 to sort this issue out. They did not. Instead they passed my debt on to debt collectors and I had to pay £65 to make sure they did not come round to my house or take me to court.

If I could leave this no stars I would.

Not only did they manipulate, twist and force us to pay £200 for their ‘insurance’ for the week. They gaslight you and bully you, and then give you a rubbish beaten up car for the convenience.

Not only this… Despite paying for 6 days, and returning the car 5 days, 1 hour and 45 minutes after…because we’d set the time as 5 o’clock on the return date (an innocuous time as we had paid for the whole day), because we returned the car 45 minutes after we have been charged £79 to the card randomly, days later. This is, regardless of the pointless nature of the time, because we returned it 45 minutes after. Whilst all over the goldcar website it describes a ‘59 minute grace period’, hidden deep in the terms and conditions it details a ‘29’ minute grace period for France only.

Despite it being bogus, we had paid for the whole day and wouldn’t have changed the price of our booking had we put 11.45 that night.

Scam. Bullying. Harassing. Condescending.

Avoid at all costs, you won’t save money. They’ll take more money off you forcibly through made up rules and random retrospective charges that they do not put down in writing, just randomly take from your account.

Fuyez Goldcar !!

Ne prenez pas Goldcar, ce sont des voleurs !!
Nous avons récupéré notre voiture à l'aéroport de Barcelone le dimanche 13 juillet vers 12h et avons fait le tour rapidement en se disant que tous les dommages étaient indiqués sur la fiche d'état du véhicule. Par précaution nous avons fait une vidéo du tour du véhicule.
En rendant le véhicule après nos vacances le vendredi 18 juillet, après aucun incident lors de nos trajets, l'agent Goldcar nous a indiqué qu'il y avait une trace blanche sur le véhicule. Etonnés, nous avons revu notre vidéo prise avant de prendre la voiture. En effet, cette trace était déjà là avant que l'on prenne la voiture ! Malgré cette preuve que l'on a envoyé directement par mail au service de réclamation, Goldcar va nous facturé 250e pour une simple trace blanche !! Inadmissible de leur part de ne pas prendre en compte notre vidéo de preuve qui montre que la trace était déjà là avant que l'on récupère la voiture !! Comment se fait-il qu'elle n'est pas été notée lors du dernier check out avant nous ?!

So so so unprofessional

Honestly I could not recommend them less. We had problem after problem when we arrived, and the staff were SO rude! Our hire expired because our plane was delayed - they tried to charge us £250 extra to get the same car we’d already paid for, then we had to wait 2 hours to get the car. Also they lied to us about needing to buy insurance, saying there would be a huge transaction fee if we paid the deposit on our card - there wasn’t, they were just lying to try and sell it to us. If I could give less than one star I would. I’ve never experienced service this bad

Feels like a scam

Feels like a scam. I don’t understand this is legal. You book online a car thinking this the actual price. Once you get to the counter, after 1,5h waiting queue, you have to pay more then double in additional costs, from 180 euro online to 520 euro in total but you can’t cancel otherwise you lose the 180 euro you payed for the online booking. Never use this company.

Si on pouvait mettre 0 étoile, je le ferai ! 2h30 de retard sur la prise en charge du véhicule, aucun employé disponible pour nous accompagner vérifier l'état du véhicule avant la prise en charge et jante de la voiture endommagée à notre arrivée. L'entreprise nie en bloc que le dégât constaté à notre retour était présent au départ en justifiant qu'aucun employé n'a constaté le dégât de lui-même, alors que nous avons une photo ainsi qu'une vidéo de l'état de la voiture quand nous l'avons récupéré avec le dégât visible. Nous avons fourni toutes les preuves nécessaires avec les dates/heures comme ils l'ont demandé pour nous rendre la caution, mais ils n'en tiennent pas compte et retiennent notre argent. Agence de très mauvaise foi, nous n'allons pas en rester là et payer 175 € pour un dégât que nous n'avons pas commis. Nous avons contacté une association de protection des consommateurs et monté un dossier. Nous engagerons toutes les procédures nécessaires à notre disposition et demanderons des dommages et intérêts à l'encontre de Goldcar en plus du remboursement total de la caution !

Worst experience

Worst car rental company, I had a very bad experience.
I booked online for a fixed price. When I got to the counter to pick up the keys, just because I didn't have a credit card, they made us pay an extra €250, plus premium insurance otherwise nothing done. Without previously informing us. Then, a month later, after I returned the car, they charged us an extra €40 for "account management" without my authorisation.

Car returned in perfect condition and…

Car returned in perfect condition and signed for then charged €150 for a deep clean. Booked through AutoEurope who say they can't do much unless I can provide pictures. Why would I take pictures if the car was returned in good order and signed off as such? They also tried to tell me that insurance paid through AutoEurope was invalid. AVOID THEM
