I recently ordered 2 lightsticks and…

I recently ordered 2 lightsticks and after some time, my order was cancelled and refunded. Their rationale was that THEY incorrectly charged for shipping and they asked me if I could order again so that I could be correctly charged.

Shipping was already over $30, so I can’t help but feel this was suspicious.

Be aware of missing items in your order

I was noticed by the company that one item was sold out after placing my order. When I finally received my order, I noticed another item was also missing, I tried to contact them and received the information that the second item was also sold out. If I had known those items were out of stock I wouldn't buy from them in the first place because of their hefty shipping fee. I paid 40 dollars for the shipping and got only 4 dollars back.
It is ridiculous to know your items were sold out after not receiving them. And if I hadn't noticed the missing item, they would do nothing about it.

Do NOT buy from them

I would not recommend this site anymore, as they have a huge lack of customer service and do not know how to handle mistakes professionally.
I've been buying from this site since 2017, as it used to be one great way to get kpop albums. They offer merch and lightsticks no other site does, and despite shipping being high I never had a problem when I bought from them. However, I made a big order of lightsticks (worth more than 400$) and something came wrong with the shipping. I do not know if they filled the customs wrong, or if they sent batteries with them, or whatever—I never got the package. When tried to contact them because the package was being returned, they were REALLY REALLY RUDE about it and couldn't stop saying it was my fault somehow for not calling the shipping courier. They told me they wouldn't refund me the shipping since they sent the package, and I ended up opening a paypal claim. It took me a month, but I got my money back. They deleted my account.
Please avoid buying from them at all costs, there are better shops nowadays.

Damaged products - not recommended

I've been ordering from them on and off for 10 years now. I've had more products (albums, photobooks, lightstick boxes) damaged through kpoptown than other K-pop stores. It's not only minor scratches, but severe ripping.

Shipping domestically within South Korea is also more expensive than other stores.

Luckily, I've received everything I ordered.

It was my first time ordering from this…

It was my first time ordering from this site and it was basically recommended by a friend of mine and it was a very good experience. Our cooperation was very good and everything I ordered arrived on time without any problems. Everything I order came and was fine with no damage. I would order from this site again.

My blocked my account after asking for a refund

I’ve used kpoptown for over a year now as a small business. I only asked for a refund on 2 occasions and one time just asked to exchange sold out items.
The first 2 refunds was less than a dollar especially after I had exchanged out sold out items for in stock items.
My 3rd refund seemed to enrage them. I didn’t mean to order the rm vinyl just yet and they had no problem with that, saying they’d refund me the difference of the lp on march 29th and ship off the rest of my items which is great and they did ship out my items on April 2nd.
3 weeks passed and I never received my refund, so, I make a dispute through PayPal to get my refund.
Today at 3 am, they email me saying they are finally giving me a refund of the amount and it’s shipping cost. Two minutes later, I receive another emailing stating “Never mind. It has come to our attention that you filed a Paypal case for this transaction. The refund will be dealt with by the claim. Your Kpoptown account will be blocked, due to your action.”
They blocked my account — for a refund they should had provided no more than a week after they told me they’d give me a refund for the item in question.
I am disappointed in kpoptown for having such petty practices.

Worst customer service ever

Shopped here 3x since 2020, and the 3rd time will certainly be my last. This is unfortunate because this shop has A LOT of cool merch (or appear to at least), but they just can't get it together when it comes to actually shipping the merch out in a timely fashion, plus they have absolutely HORRIBLE customer service, just horrible. My 1st order was placed in May of 2020.
8 days passed since i placed the order, and still no shipment/tracking info sent to me, so i emailed them to see what's up. They emailed back right away saying that they had trouble "identifying correct delivery address" (even though i gave them all the correct info) so i gave it to them again, and they sent the package out 2 days later. I was annoyed because A) nothing in my order was a "pre-order" item, so there shouldn't have been such a delay to ship it, B) If the real reason is that they had trouble verifying my address, then they should have reached out to me promptly about it, not let 8 days pass, and then only tell me about this issue after i reached out to them, like, what kind of service is that??? It was during the thick of pandemic lockdown, so i gave them the benefit of the doubt. I received my order and all was well. Nearly a year later i placed a 2nd much larger order with them, but i forgot to purchase one item and had already placed the order, so since their site says:

"Have no worries! Please contact our customer service (at their email address) and ask for assistance. We are willing to help you change the order detail, like adding / removing some products or changing the poster option."

I immediately reached out to them to ask them to please add this 1 album that i had forgotten, and 3 days later they got back to me and told me that they weren't able to do that, but then i reminded them that on their site it specifically states that they CAN do that. (and i know it wasn't because they shipped the order out already, because i already learned that they don't ship orders out promptly.) They finally agreed to let me add the item, and i immediately PayPal-ed the $ owed. Then 9 days passed and my order still hadn't shipped, so i reached out to them to see what's up, then they got back to me promptly saying that they haven't received the PayPal payment (even though i sent it correctly), and asked me to send the PayPal transaction ID, so i sent them the info they asked for and they acknowledged it, and then 8 days later they finally shipped the order. That was so careless and incompetent on their part.
So, i placed my 3rd order with them on Feb 2nd of this year, and this time 2 out of the 4 items were pre-order, so i was mentally prepared for a longer ship-out time. Even though their item description said NOTHING about those items being a pre-order/when they expect to ship them out, I just assumed they would get it rather quickly, and i wouldn't have to wait too long.
So 12 days after placing the order (and already 1 week after the pre-orders started shipping out) i reached out to ask them when they plan to ship the items/if they even received the pre-orders yet. Didn't hear back from them, so 2 days later i emailed them again asking for them to please let me know the status of the order, and if they don't reply back to me in 72 hours then I will have to file a PayPal dispute, as 2 weeks had already passed since i placed the order, and i heard NOTHING from them. So, what did they do? They then immediately canceled my order without any explanation, refunded my order in full (thank goodness for that at least), and they deactivated my account on their site. So, THAT'S how they treat their customers. No explanation about why they just went ahead and cancelled my order, no honest and open communication about order status, even after 2 weeks passed since placing the order. They just cut me off and blocked me. So, that was the last straw with this company, and their absolutely horrible customer service. While i did receive 2 out of the 3 orders i placed with them over the span of nearly 3 years, it's just not worth the hassle, because each order was an anxiety-inducing guessing game, and that's just not fair to customers who hand over their $$ to this company, expecting just basic order fulfillment and customer service. Customers shouldn't have to jump through hoops, and this company surely makes the consumer experience difficult. So all I can say to potential buyers is, purchase at your own risk.

Mixed Bag

My experience with kpoptown is always a little hit and miss.

The good:
-they usually have a wide variety of items including some that can be hard to get.
-packaging is okay
-the shipping used to be reasonable.
-when I was sent a wrong item they were quick to refund and really good about it.
-they do price up the goods but I wouldn’t say it’s unreasonable.

The bad:
-shipping has increased to such an eye-watering amount that I have to use a proxy because I’m pretty sure kpoptown overestimates the weight like my proxy ships their boxes for a fraction of what they try and charge you.
-they sell things they don’t have in stock and then you have to chase them for a refund because they won’t do it otherwise. I actually suspect they purchase your order from the item website in SOME cases, not all, and don’t have everything in their warehouse.
-back when MX worked with TTG, if you ordered an item you got photocards. Initially, I got those photo cards from one of my orders from kpoptown, but with another order I got none and they started selling them separately which was just a bit shady.

There’s good and bad I think it depends on the day, the item and the situation as to what kind of service you get. Like I said, I got a refund for an incorrect item straight away but when they sold something they didn’t have, I had to chase them for well over a week.

Going out of my way to give credit where it is due.

Honestly, I just blindly ordered a late birthday gift from this website before checking trust pilot and was worried when I saw negative reviews on here, especially because some of them claimed the absolute worst case scenario. Well I am here today with a smile on my face because I am in possession of the birthday gift on the day of birth even though tracking said it would actually be a day late. The merchant did not directly email me a tracking number or anything but if you've ever ordered something online you kind of know where to look for stuff, so I check my logged into my account that I created at checkout and took a look at my order history. The order history was properly updated according to the associated tracking number and also directly provided the tracking number for me to use myself. Cheap, affordable, quick and trustworthy. I don't go out of my way to review anything unless it's rightfully earned.

Order with caution or try not to use them at all

I placed an order for multiple items and I never got an order confirmation and tracking number. It was paypal who sent me what I bought.

I waited for a month before I emailed them to ask where my order was. I said on the email that I will wait for a couple of days before making a claim with Paypal. Never got a reply so I made a claim and it was really great that I paid through Paypal because I feel like I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere and had my money stolen if I didn’t.

I pre-order the skz maniac in Seoul special and took 2 week for them to send me the shipping info and after that the product that I order came in like a week and everything was in very good shape🫶🏼

I do not recommend using them

I do not recommend using them. pre-ordered something. Trusted them to delivery when the item was available. But It was not deliver at all. No news on delivery and NO responses despite sending messages to them. Just noticed that their facebook and instagram havent been updated for a long time. Feel cheated!

Absolutely the worst customer service…

Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Ordered a number of items and paid hefty shipping fees (60%) of total order. One item was a pre- order. Heard from them the next day and they said it wasn’t available. Tried to add two other items to compensate but they said they couldn’t and would refund me. It’s now been 9 days and no refund - no response at all to numerous emails. I’m considering talking further action. Will never order again from them. For any Canadian customers - try LightUpK- fantastic company with phenomenal customer service.

First time ordering here and it will be…

First time ordering here and it will be my last. Decided to order from them because it was the cheapest place I could find that offered All 3 versions of G-idle new album with posters included. Arrived with no posters and I emailed them right away. Doubt I will get a response or any resolution. Just order somewhere else that you know will give you what is advertised?
