AVOID! — hidden mandatory charges!
Extremely disappointing and misleading experience. At pickup, Klass Wagen forced me to pay an additional €16.80 “Road Toll”, despite the car already having a valid Austrian vignette. I explicitly asked to refuse the charge and was told it was mandatory and I would not get the car otherwise.
Advertising one price and then imposing unavoidable charges at the counter is unacceptable. I would not rent from Klass Wagen again.

The fee relates to the road toll and administrative costs associated with the use of the vehicle on applicable toll roads during the rental period. The vehicle may already have a valid vignette, but this does not necessarily cover all applicable toll-related costs.

Good value and welcoming staff
The attitude of the employees was great, but the pick-up from the airport was less so. Communication with the office over the phone was not the best. I recommend taking the insurance that the company provides and not other insurance, it is simpler, more understandable and there is someone responsible for you.4 stars for the poor communication at Vienna airport on the way to the rental, other than that, it was excellent.

Great service and good cars
Great service and staff. The whole rental process was easy and they do not have any additional surprising costs at the pick-up, as other big rental companies. Also, they offer competitive prices and have good and new cars. I would rent a car with them again.

Regarding the location, our rental station is not located directly inside the airport terminal. A complimentary shuttle service is provided between the airport and our station to facilitate the pick-up and return process.
As for the vehicle cleanliness, the applicable return conditions are part of the rental agreement and apply to customers renting under the standard conditions. The vehicle is expected to be returned in an appropriate condition, as received, and any applicable charges are based on the agreed rental conditions.
The purchase of optional protection is not mandatory and is separate from the standard vehicle return requirements. Customers are free to choose the rental option that best suits their needs.

Nearly Perfect Experience
The staff were all very friendly, professional and helpful.
The car was great.
One issue I had was that I didn't have an active phone number when I arrived in Vienna.
Luckily a friend was there to greet me and I could use her phone, otherwise I don't know how I would have arranged the shuttle.
Maybe there is a way to do it without calling, but I don't know it.
Edit: Thanks for the reply. I was sure there was a workaround that would be helpful for people reading this post. Your service is really great and I'd never rent from anyone else

Extra insurance.
The cars are in good condition, and the airport pickup was well organized. What I did not like was that they almost force you to take additional insurance (138€ in my case for 2-3 days). If you don't, you have to pay a €2,600 deposit, and they said that in case of even the slightest damage (even a small mark or scratcht, or at least that how they 'threathened' me) they would immediately deduct €500 from the deposit.

Bad experience
The car was Rented via "stress free car Rental". Deposit 2500 Euro did not go through on my platin mastercard due to their payment terminal, they refused to use my visa card instead or my wifes mastercard.
However it was OK for them to use my visacard for the deposit for gasoline. The conclusion was that that I had to buy their insurance on top of the Stressfreecarrental insurance to get the car. - Never again will I rent there.
They claimed the Stressfreecarrental insurance was not a real insurance, when I mentioned that I was covered by the mastercard, I was told it was even worse to be insured two places, therefore they offered a third insurance!

Please allow us to clarify that coverage purchased through a third party or included with a credit card is separate from the protection offered directly by Klass Wagen. Third-party coverage normally requires the customer to leave the damage deposit and subsequently request reimbursement if any eligible charges arise. Our Klass Total Cover option, however, eliminates the damage deposit requirement.
In accordance with our rental conditions and security procedures, the damage deposit must be secured using an accepted credit card in the main driver’s name. A card belonging to another person cannot be accepted for this purpose. The fuel pre-authorisation is processed under different conditions, which explains why a different card could be used.
We understand that this situation was frustrating and regret that the available options did not meet your expectations.

Aggressive Insurance Selling and Poor Rental Service
Very disappointing experience with Klass Wagen. The staff member became visibly unhappy when we explained that we already had insurance through VIPCars and did not want to purchase additional insurance from Klass Wagen. It felt like the main focus was on selling their insurance rather than providing proper customer service.
We also had an issue with the security deposit. Our credit card was initially refused for the deposit, with the staff member saying that the card was not accepted. However, after we agreed to purchase their insurance, the same credit card was suddenly accepted. This made us feel strongly pressured into buying additional insurance.
The car was also not properly cleaned and appeared not to have received basic servicing after the previous rental. Shortly after leaving, we noticed warning messages on the dashboard and had to return to show them to the staff. The issue was then fixed.
Considering we had specifically booked a luxury car, receiving a poorly maintained and unclean vehicle was extremely disappointing. Overall, the experience made us question the transparency of the rental process, particularly the strong pressure to purchase additional insurance.

First of all the hidden price surcharges and unprofessional communication and the lack of alternatives
FIrst of all: It is not Vienna Airport as quoted in Booking.com, but at the end of nowhere. The shuttle was extremely full and the driver wasn't able to speak German, no problem for me, but not professional. The second driver not able to speak english, only German. The clerk was friendly but tried hard to sell this insurance package. Another negative experience was the outrageous price for a bordercrossing to Germany and the motorway toll sticker (both not included!!) which was not clarly and openly communicated in advance, but hidden in the small prints of the contract. The deposit was so high that my credit card didn't cover it, there was no flexibility or alternative from your side but the expensive insurance. The car (thank you for a litte update..) was demaged and scratched outside and the seats were unhygienic, the rest inside clean. I returned the car 15 hours earlier than booked, no offer of a voucher. I was extremely disappointed that the price at the end was far higher than I booked, I think I cannot recommend your company to anyone without response from your side or refund. I recommend to communicate clearer in advance or at least inform booking.com or other pantner sides better about your hidden extra costs.

Our Vienna Airport rental station is an off-airport location, and complimentary shuttle transportation is provided between Vienna International Airport and our rental station. The exact location and shuttle arrangements are communicated during the booking process and in the rental information provided to customers. Transfer time can vary depending on traffic and operational conditions.
Regarding the security deposit and insurance, our Terms and Conditions clearly distinguish between the standard rental conditions and Klass Wagen's own Total Cover option. The standard rental requires a security deposit, which must be provided with an eligible credit card in the main driver's name. Purchasing insurance from a third-party provider, including insurance offered through a booking platform, does not automatically eliminate the security deposit, as such insurance is separate from Klass Wagen's Total Cover.
Klass Wagen Total Cover is an optional product that can reduce the customer's financial responsibility and modify the applicable deposit conditions. Our colleagues may explain this option at the station, but the customer is not required to purchase it.
Regarding cross-border travel, travelling from Austria to Germany is permitted, but it requires the applicable Cross-Border service to be purchased and the necessary authorization to be issued before crossing the border. The applicable fee is separate from the basic rental price. The Cross-Border service does not include local road taxes or motorway vignettes in the destination country.
Similarly, motorway vignettes and road tolls are not automatically included in the basic rental price unless specifically included through a selected Klass Wagen service/package. When travelling to another country, the customer is responsible for complying with that country's road and toll regulations.
With regard to the vehicle condition, all vehicles are inspected and documented according to our rental procedures. Any existing damage should be recorded in the rental documentation, and customers are encouraged to review the vehicle together with our colleagues at pick-up and report any discrepancies immediately.
We are also sorry to hear that you returned the vehicle earlier than originally planned. Early return does not automatically entitle a customer to a refund for unused rental days. Any applicable compensation or voucher is subject to the conditions of the reservation and the Klass Wagen Terms and Conditions.
We regret that you felt the additional services and conditions were not sufficiently clear. Our aim is to provide customers with the available rental, insurance, deposit and cross-border options so they can choose the solution that best suits their needs.

This shouldn’t be classed as an airport rental
This is not at the airport. They took 30mins to arrive then tried to fit 11 people in a 9 person shuttle. The office is about 25mins from the airport so you need to allow at least 1.5 hours to collect a car! I paid for full insurance and they still told me I had to pay a €2600 deposit!
