Les motifs donnés semblent fallacieux et on nous laisse gérer à l'arrache une recherche de nouvelle compagnie (car les alternatives de la compagnie sont ingérables, ils ne se rendent pas compte que quand on planifie un voyage en famille à 6, on ne peut pas facilement tout modifier du jour au lendemain).

Over an hour delay on a Saturday lunch time in Calais at customs resulting in a missed ferry and a 2.5 HR further delay.
Complained over the phone and told that one should arrive 2 hours early for a crossing. This requirement is not stated elsewhere.
Asked for a refund but refused.
A very poor service, save yourself the hassle and get the tunnel instead

irish ferries will uns 700 euros nicht zurückerstatten. mehrmals wurden vor unserer reise cherbourg-dublin retour die schiffe gewechselt und die rückfahrt an unserem wunschdatum gestrichen. diverse umbuchungen mussten gemacht werden (kabinenkategorie). das daraus resultierende guthaben will irish ferries behalten. schade, denn die kabinen sowie das personal am hafen und auf den schiffen war einwandfrei. wir buchen nicht wieder.
Shambles
Shambles. 3 hours late sailing - ok it happens. Booked and EV Charge Point which they push. Was directed down wrong lane so was last on and didn’t get a charger. Horrendous. Will look for any other possible way in future.
Very bad communication in case of delays
We travelled with Irish Ferries from Holyhead to Dublin and back a couple of weeks later. For the outward journey, we received a message about a delay of half an hour at the moment all cars were already in line for boarding. This must have been known before. Other than that, this journey went relatively smoothly and the ferry had lovely inside and outside areas for pets, including an area with sand.
The return journey was a disaster. We were supposed to leave at 7:30 and received a message about a delay of ‘up to 4 hours’ at 5am. We received another message at 6:45 that with an update of the departure time to 11am. In this last message, it was mentioned that we should check in no later than 9:30. In the end, we started boarding at 11:10, which means that all cars have been waiting in line for at leas 1:40hrs. During this time, no updates were given whatsoever, except for a very late (at 10:30) update on the departure time (of 11:30).
On board we were offered the booked place to charge the car. When we noticed that the car was not charging, we asked and it appeared that we should have turned on a switch. This could very easily have been explained in advance to people who booked a charging place.
We understand that delays can happen, but the communication by Irish Ferries is miserable, including the communication to their own staff, who get the questions from the customers but are not kept updated about the status. This lack of communication was really frustrating, even more so because we were unsure if we would make it to our connection in Hull in the evening, which in the end appeared not the case and therefor we had to speed through England to get the train and drive through the whole night.
This time it was a different ferry (Ulysses) than the outward one (forgot the name). The inside area for dogs was fine, but outside there was only a small artificial grass area, which our dogs refused to use. The area on the other ferry was thus much better.
Best breakfast ever
Best breakfast ever! I ordered a full Irish breakfast but with out beans, black pudding and bread but I asked for extra bacon, sausage and eggs. I was so surprised when my breakfast came with four eggs, four sausages and four slices of bacon! And it was cooked to perfection.! Thank you 🤩
Catastrophique
Ne surtout pas réserver la traversée sur le " isle of inisheer " : bateau vieux et insalubre, restauration médiocre, chambre minuscule, organisation pour embarquer lamentable, prévoir au moins 2h de retard sur les horaires d arrivée. Expérimenté plusieurs fois pour mon travail. A FUIRE

Tesco Boost users should know Irish ferries increase the cost of most tickets when using Tesco Boost.
So much so that the price of the Flexi ticket will be more if you use Tesco Boost, additionally they do not allow you to book a Flexi + ticket

Bardzo złe doświadczenie z Direct Ferries. Podróż 9 marca na trasie Dover – Calais.
Po przyjeździe do portu okazało się, że mój bilet kupiony przez Direct Ferries… nie istnieje w systemie operatora. Obsługa w porcie powiedziała mi, że bilet jest nieważny i jedyną opcją jest zakup nowego biletu na miejscu, jeśli chcę w ogóle wsiąść na prom.
Zostałem więc zmuszony do kupienia nowego biletu za 125 funtów, mimo że miałem już wcześniej opłacony bilet. Później kazano mi dochodzić zwrotu od Direct Ferries. Teraz firma twierdzi, że odda tylko kwotę starego biletu i utrzymuje, że sam anulowałem rezerwację i zdecydowałem się kupić droższy bilet co jest nieprawdą. Byłem na miejscu wcześniej i pytałem tylko, czy brak biletu w systemie to jakiś problem oraz czy mogę ewentualnie dopłacić do zmiany. Nikt nie informował mnie o żadnym anulowaniu z mojej strony. Zapłaciłem dużo więcej przez błąd systemu lub organizacji między Direct Ferries a operatorem promu.
Uważajcie przy kupowaniu biletów przez Direct Ferries może się okazać, że w porcie wasza rezerwacja nie będzie ważna.

Very bad experience it was 1am in the morning and there's people screaming and shouting we asked the staff twice to tell them to be quiet they just said ok and never said anything to them I would advise you take stena line they delt with problems like this right away
Just awful, never again
I’ve had the misfortune of booking with this company twice now, and both experiences were a complete disaster. Both original trips were cancelled, forcing me to reschedule.
When I finally did travel, the first trip was hit with a 2-hour boarding delay. The return journey was even worse—we were delayed docking for over 5 hours. Throughout the entire ordeal, communication from the crew was virtually non-existent. We were left in the dark with no updates and absolutely zero goodwill or compensation offered for the massive inconvenience.
This is a really poor service from a company that clearly doesn't value its customers. Save yourself the stress and never use them. Terrible.
Irish Ferries are brilliant.
The onboard cleanliness was outstanding, and the queue times to board were very short. Staff were amazing, hats off to Matthew, Dover to Calais, absolutely amazing service. Not a jot of negativity, an amazing company and would definitely recommend! 👍 -
I wish there was a zero star option
I wish there was a zero star option. An absolute nightmare from start to finish. Booked a ferry in January from Dublin to Cherbourg with a pet friendly cabin to travel in April. Got an email in February to inform me our journey was cancelled so I rang Irish ferries and one of their agent changed the booking with me over the phone.
Got a confirmation email weeks later to confirm a journey from Cherbourg to Dublin (opposite way to what I had book) with NO PET CABIN.
Rang them again and there was no more journey available till mid may. Not even an apology, nothing. Had to request a refund and book with a different company. I will never travel Irish ferries ever again. (Still waiting on my refund at this stage too)

Le plus sournois est le wifi qui est ouvert sans mot de passe. Attention à vos enfants qui pourraient être tentés de se connecter, le mo est facturé 15,84 € !! 🤮🤮 De quoi vous faire payer plus cher que la traversée avec le wifi.

The company cancelled the crossing I had booked for my return (as foot passenger) to Holyhead for the catch-all 'operational reasons'. Having been forced to re-book with Stena, I arrived at what seemed to be THE passenger terminal (by local bus), only to discover that the two companies have separate terminals. The attitude of the young woman at the IF desk was totally unsympathetic, and she refused point blank to ring Stena to say I might be late for check-in. Also the food on their ferries is expensive. (The staff at their Holyhead desk were better.)

This is the second time this has happened to us think before using this company would not recommend them at all.

My sailing was delayed, I was told to get a refund and book another ticket, which I did. Now they refuse to provide the refund!
