Ordered a tyre fitting, when the mobile tyre repair arrived, the mechanic told me the tyre I'd ordered was the incorrect season and if he put just one on it would be an MOT fail. Customer service then told me that I could get a refund but I would still have to pay the call-out fee. There was nothing on the website that actually said any of this. Essentially just wasted £40 and i feel there wasn't really much I could've done to know otherwise.

Minus 10 for these clowns.

they tied to contact me at 6.30am and complains I was not available.
gave me a number to call but no one to talk to and my situation was not on the list of choices.
Phoned did get hold of someone, after they cut me off the first time.
She said appointment cancelled . Why did they not inform me? Still showing was going ahead.
rescheduled Sunday, Why not Saturday?
Holiday £700. now have to cancelled. Solicitors on the case.

Excellent service from the lads at Bilston bike department however this one goes to Nick! Excellent knowledge and after sales care. We love visiting this store for the knowledge on the bikes

Took my money for a Air con test, immediately told machine broken and that was 4 weeks ago, cant ever get hold of them on phone!! Useless won't use again for anything, now waiting for refund

Tried to order a couple of tyres over the weekend 21 June no success, today the 23/6/2026 I logged into my account went through the process and authorised payment, which was taken from my account but not collected by halfords, very poor/ substandard service from a company I have used a lot in the past, seriously thinking about closing my account once the payment is back on my bank account,

Avoid the Glasgow Alexandra branch.

I booked front wheel alignment through National Tyres & Autocare for 28th May at the Glasgow Alexandra branch.

When I attended the original appointment, I was told the alignment machine was broken. There was no prior notice online or before arrival. I was asked to call back the following week for an update.

Over the following weeks, I made multiple follow-up calls and was repeatedly told either:

the machine was still not fixed,
someone was coming to repair it,
or to call back again later.

At one point I asked either to move my booking to another branch or issue a refund. I was told another branch could take me and that I had an appointment there. I drove there only to find they had not expected me. The staff there appeared surprised and explained they had already told the Alexandra branch not to send customers over because they were too busy.

I then continued contacting the Alexandra branch and was eventually told the machine had been fixed and to bring the car in on Monday 22nd at 4pm.

I arrived at the agreed time and was then told the mechanic was off and to return the next day at 1pm.

I returned again on 23rd June for the appointment and was finally told they do not carry out wheel alignment for my car and I should go elsewhere.

After all of this, I requested a refund. Initially I was told the refund had already been processed, but after checking my bank account and showing proof, the branch contacted head office and confirmed that no refund had actually been issued. I now need to make a separate claim by phone to recover my payment.

The most frustrating part was not the inability to carry out the work — things happen — but the repeated appointments, conflicting information, unnecessary journeys, and lack of clear communication.

Unfortunately, based on my experience, customer service fell well below expectations.

Ordered aqua roll with 2-3 day delivery on 05-06 2026. Took a week to be delivered, order was canceled by myself after weekend before it was delived as it was late. Lost money due to having to cancelling caravan park at short notice £72, 1 day wage as his was a sign of package. I have tried on a lot of times x6 to connect customer service keep getting plamed of and after weeks still no comms form Halfords. I would NEVER BUY from or TRUST this COMPANY AGAIN.

Booked an air conditioning re charge online at cost approx 80.00. When booking in to Chatham repair ststion asked if a air freshening service wss required as well. Left car, after an hour psssed was phoned and told thst a fsult finding fee was required. Then told that the refill could not take place. The ac unit needed replacing and that would cost 1300.00. Ridicullous.We were not refunded the re charge fee and were expected to pay the fault finding fee of 32.00. We were let off
the air freshening amount which we were told was being done at the same time as the ac charge which appears not have been done. Net result _ Halfords get 120.00 for nothing at all.

Visited Halfords at Byfleet today as my back indicator light was not working. Jason came immediately to the car, found the issue and fixed it quickly and efficiently. Even better was that because it only took a clean of the element and not a bulb replacement I was not charged - a rare occurrence these days! Excellent service from Jason and Halfords

Fixed my tyre problem, no fuss excellent service

Bad to worse. Awful. Best to avoid and try a competitor.
My tyre insurance company (AutoProtect) utilises Halfords as their preferred network, unfortunately.
I went in on a Friday to Halfords auto Center on London Road, Grays, Essex and after being less than impressed with the staffs attitude. I left having been told the tyre was ordered and I HAD TO CONTACT them (not them call me on its arrival) to check it’s arrived and they could then book the car in (ridiculous in itself).
Went away and called on Monday to be told it had not arrived yet. Called back on Wednesday and told the same. Called back today (the following Friday!) and then told the system has cancelled the order. That’s it basically and however I did the last replacement I should do that.

Not caring that I explained I had waited a week! I had a long drive on Sunday (for Father’s Day) and the tyre wouldn’t allow that safely right now and I really need the replacement. Met with silence.

Worst experience of any car tyre service encountered. Strongly suggest you avoid and save yourself at lot of hassle

Had my two van tyres fitted today great price very helpful mobile Tyre fitter come to my house and fitted tires , in all a great service and experience easy to book online with a professional fitter turning up who gave me a quick call when he was in my area ready to pop in and fit the tyres would recommend them 👍🏻

I have been using Halfords Stirling now for over 6 years and I am real happy with the service I get there the staff are friendly and very help full the manager Kieran is very helpful and profession in his position. I highly recommend Halfords Stirling for this.

I brought my bike to Halfords Newtownabbey this morning for repair, I was greeted with a very rude staff member, I told him what was wrong with the bike & without even looking at the bike he listed a bunch of other things that need done to it & the only problem was the pedals, he kept saying it's unfixable & they don't want to touch it without even looking at it & he kept pushing me to get a new bike, I said I didn't want a new bike, I asked to speak to a supervisor & he claimed to be supervisor & he just said well we're not touching it then he told me to leave, I called him useless the he came up behind me & got right in my face & said what did you say, I asked him to get out of my face then he said get out you faggot then I left

Apple car play fitted at a cost Over £600. Engine warning light as soon as completed. Was told nothing they could do about it and I was told to take it to their Auto centre for them to rectify. Went to the Auto centre was told that I shouldn't have been sent to them as the store should sort their own issues out and they are all a bunch of "Muppets" The engine warning fault light is back on today and my parking sensors are not working.
Very disappointed at the attitude of staff at both outlets. Can't get through on the telephone as calls do not go to the branch. Now left to sort out new problems.

I bought a Yuasa L6-AGM leisure battery for £250 from Halfords roughly two years ago. The battery was performing fine initially, but recently it has needed charging more frequently as it seems to be losing its charge. Since the battery was relatively new, I had the alternator checked, and it’s working perfectly.When I returned to Halfords, they couldn't find a record of the sale because they only keep data for two years. They also inspected the battery and claimed it wouldn't be covered under warranty anyway. Now I’m stuck with a brand-new-looking battery that is essentially worthless.

poor service. poor english. the staff don't understand anything about british customers. they cut you off middle of call.

Went to Halfords Oldbury to sort out new battery with free fitting (motoring club). They were outstanding. I had tried for an hour to get the free fitting online with no luck. Eloise sorted it in no time. The fitting was quick and efficient.
