Product is decent, however marketing and sales make them feel like you’ve been ripped off. My 15 year old son purchased 4 pairs but was not aware he signed up to a monthly subscription of 4/ 5 pairs a month for a further 3 months. Who needs this amount of socks?! When contacting customer services advised I could ‘buy out’ of the subscription for a further £28.00, which means 4 pairs cost around £55.00. Remarkable as all the advertising is showing 4 pairs for under £25.
An utter disgrace that companies like this use cheap marketing models to target youngsters. Extremely short sighted and longer term has cost them more. Several of my son’s team mates have also fell foul to this and now dozens of parents will no longer purchase from this company.
I have also requested a complaints procedure on 3 occasions and my request has been ignored each time.
Predictable company response incoming hiding behind T&Cs…

Ordered the item nearly a month ago now. Item was never delivered (not their fault). But the way the deal with customer service and chase up is. Just kept getting pied off with wait 4 more days if it isn’t we will chase the courier. 4 days went and past, told to wait another 4 days this happened three times. So I asked for a refund and was told this isn’t possible for an item in “transit”. I went to PayPal and got a refund instantly via the PayPal. Avoid this site like a plague. I’ve since bought off another site for cheaper and it arrived in 3 days.

Paid for 6 pairs of socks in March and today I found out that I have to repeat this order for a minimum of 3 months before i can cancel because they charge me again for a subscription I never signed for!
Also the quality of socks are dropped big time since previous years.After a few weeks of wearing them for football practices they are covered with holes.
Subscription not showing at all when making an order! Awful customer service, no phone number to contact only email!Now I’ll be stuck with multiple socks i don’t even need!
Really disappointed, will not buy from them again for sure!

These socks stink to high heaven. Don't buy them.
This is the second set of 4 I have bought for my son. Gain The Edge are telling me I have washed and dried them incorrectly, however, the washing instructions online state to wash as normal! They also make footy boots smell disgusting as well.
We know it's not our sons feet as he wears normal sports socks in his running shoes.
I have asked for a refund which is against 'their policy'. However, the law is on my side and I will be taking it further.

This is a scam !!!
They do not have a customer service. They only have an email. No chat - no phone. I tried to cancel an order and waited 3 days to get a reply in which they said they can't cancel because the item shipped.
They will charge you shipping from the UK and will not give you a return label for returns. When i asked to return the items - they asked for pictures - 3 emails later - they gave me an address to send the items to. NO RETURN LABEL- They expect you to return the item on your own to the UK!!!!. So basically no returns. Terrible quality items too.

Avoid at all costs. You try and buy two pairs of socks and then they sign you up to three months and demand payment. What a con and borderline illegal. I am speaking to citizens advise and the ombudsman

Literally selling the EXACT same socks minus there logo just 5x the price of temu or shein it’s laughable there buying in bulk for pennies & making a over marketed pretty website with all the signs & singing & dancing meanwhile selling you the same product 5x the price promising it to be some amazing product when it’s cheap and not nice in reality

They had trouble shipping my order at first but all I had to do was email and they sorted out a reshipment extremely quickly. I was emailing back and forth with Jasmine and she was fantastic. She was very prompt, clear, and kind. Also their grip socks are fantastic! Definently recommend!

Very poor experience. A glitchy website which caused my order to process but in wrong size socks. Emailed within 2 mins of ordering, to report issue and say require alternative size. Many email exchanges with sheena basically saying nothing they can do as orders are processed 15 to 30 mins after order. I emailed 2mins after so time to sort, I did get a confirmation email saying the order update had gone through ok. Then receive another couple days later saying it hasn't been updated after all. Not offer of help from sheena. I'll have to pay £15 of shipping just to return the order and receive refund. Poor customer service experience.

Awful company when anything goes wrong.
There’s a glitch on their website when you select the size you want it changes to the smaller size on the next screen. So I ended up ordering the wrong sizes. I sent a screen recording of what happens and they refuse to let me off the return postage cost. I’m not even sure I will get my refund after coming here and reading these reviews. I won’t be using them again.

After reading the reply I’m even more annoyed tbh. YOUR WEBSITE HAS A GLITCH. It’s your fault I ordered the wrong size. I should not have to pay to return. I will not use your company again. The customer service is awful.

Truffa. Ordinato 1 mese fa e rispondono solo bot scusandosi. Ho pagato anche di più per avere la spedizione express più veloce (in teoria da come scritto nel sito in 2-3 giorni lavorativi).

At checkout, there is a poorly explained subscription option that can easily be selected by mistake. If activated, it commits you to multiple repeat orders before you’re able to cancel. Combined with a £5 delivery charge, this makes what should be a simple purchase—like a pair of socks—unnecessarily expensive.
The lack of transparency around this subscription is frustrating. Most customers don’t need or want new socks every four weeks, and this setup feels misleading rather than helpful.
There are plenty of alternative grip sock providers that are more straightforward in how they sell their products. A clearer, more honest approach at checkout would go a long way.
Because of this experience, our entire club—from Under 7s through to senior men’s and women’s teams—will be taking our business elsewhere.

Product is okay but beware the small print when ordering. I unknowingly signed up to a monthly subscription. To my disgust they will not acknowledge my honest mistake and have confirmed I must fulfill my 3 additional months of payments for extra socks I neither want or need. Cancelling whilst not fulfilling the additional 3 months comes at a significant extra cost.
Terrible customer service. PLEASE BE WARY OF THE SMALL PRINT WITH THIS COMPANY!

Just spent 30 minutes trying to buy 4 pairs of socks. It asked me if I wanted next day delivery for £3.99 reduced from 7.99. I selected this option. I then went to check out and it was asking me through Shop what delivery I wanted and it was adding a second delivery charge on. I kept going back to my basket and even though the 3.99 delivery was added onto the subtotal there was no place to deselect the next day delivery. So I would have paid double for delivery. It also kept adding things like shipment protection (for socks) for £8 to my basket, and 24 hour processing for free - everytime I went back to my basket, having already deleted. In the end I gave up. I just wanted to buy some socks and ended up wasting time.

This has been the worst purchase and customer service experience I’ve ever had from an e‑commerce brand.
Here’s exactly what happened:
Timeline:
• Ordered on January 26
• Tracking said delivered ~5 days later — but nothing ever arrived
• After contacting support, a replacement was sent
• I finally got that on February 13 — almost 3 weeks later, not the advertised 3–5 business days — and I missed multiple soccer games waiting for it.
I contacted the company within days of trying the defective pair (mid‑February), and since then this has turned into over a month and a half of emails back and forth with absolutely no resolution:
• Different rep each reply
• Clear photos of the defect ignored
• Scripted responses with no accountability
• They kept hiding behind the “personal item” excuse even though their website clearly states a 30‑day money‑back guarantee.
And now after all that — they want me to pay return shipping even though that policy isn’t anywhere on their site!
So to summarize:
❌ Misleading delivery and tracking
❌ Defective product
❌ No real customer service
❌ Trying to make the customer pay for their mistake
❌ Weeks of frustration for literally no progress
I’ve purchased from them before with no issues — which makes this even more disappointing. But this experience completely outweighs any past positives.
If Gain The Edge actually cares about their reputation, this is the time to fix it — because right now this reads like a tactic to frustrate people until they give up.
