This is a really useful app for anyone overseas who needs a UK mobile number. I needed it to organise my Father-in-Law's medical care from overseas. I was able to receive calls and texts from hospitals, doctors, social care etc ... such organisations cannot always telephone non UK numbers. There are also no huge bills...just a fixed price! Have used Devyce for a few years now when I first moved to Ireland to keep my UK Mobile Number.

Recently ported out my number to Smarty but because my phone isn't 5G enabled and fairly old, calls reaching my phone were intermittent.

Ported my number straight back to Devyce and it was ported this morning. Excellent Service from Nicole during the porting back in process

I use the Devyce service through Xpatphone and it is the perfect solution for digital nomads who want to keep the UK mobile phone number while travelling abroad for extended periods of time.

Only made 2 calls yet and the connection quality was fantastic. I was recommended this App by my mother in law. I requested to port my number and within 48hrs it was complete. So far so good,

I work remotely but need to retain a UK presence. Three upped the cost of my plan and any time I texted or called a UK number I got a £2 24hr roaming charge. This completely negates that.

The real winner is that when your UK number is called, it rings with a UK ring tone.

I signed up less than 24 hours ago and I'm all set up, number ported and receiving calls.

My experience so far with Devyce has been exceptional! The app itself is brilliant, I am able to make and receive calls and texts without any issues.

I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding service I have received from the team. I was previously using a ‘service’ from a company called UK Numbers Abroad, which was absolutely appalling. When I switched over to Devyce, I had a lot of issues with UK Numbers Abroad and my UK number being ported over.

I contacted the CEO of Devyce, Leo Bartle. Leo has been absolutely fantastic!! He was very active in communicating with the other company and putting pressure on them to port my telephone number over. I also engaged with Nick, Hellen and Nicole who also delivered fantastic customer service!

It allows me to receive OTP’s, verification codes, calls, texts, send texts and make calls all included in the £8.99 monthly fee. As long as you have internet access you have reliable U.K. phone.

Customer service and support is 5*. I highly recommend anyone to consider this service and app for a U.K. number. You do not have to have an existing U.K. number, the app provides you with one, so you are up and running within minutes.

Been using the service for a mobile number for a couple of years without any issues and just recently ported a landline number over to them.

I initially started with one number on the app a year back, and it worked seamlessly. There was a minor glitch a few months ago, but that was quickly resolved with an app update. Now, it's absolutely faultless. Given how well it worked, I decided to add my private UK number to the app, which can now be selected for calls when needed. The app allows you to set one number as the default and switch to the other whenever necessary, making it a very flexible and cost-effective system.

As long as you have a decent data connection—whether on 4G, 5G, or Wi-Fi—you're all set. Realistically, if your mobile data connection is poor, the phone won’t work well anyway, so separating phone numbers from reliance on the network provider’s data isn’t an issue. It’s a no-brainer. I travel extensively, and whether I’m in the United States, Switzerland, or Argentina, my UK numbers work just as they do in the UK, complete with the UK ringing tone. I can’t see any drawbacks to using this system.

Another advantage is that I keep a SIM card in my iPhone for data usage in the UK, EU, and Switzerland, where I spend a lot of time. When I travel elsewhere, I simply buy a data plan from Airalo or Nomad (two companies I highly recommend), and I’m good to go. Some people question whether this system works, but in many parts of the world, it’s common to have one provider for data and another for the phone line. While this approach might seem unconventional to some in Europe, it’s quite standard in regions like Asia.

I'm afraid the Devyce app sucks. Their iOS app barely works most of the time, locks up, can't open SMS messages. If you contact support they are very fast to respond and friendly but support consists of asking you to delete and re reinstall the app. Which woks for another 10 minutes and then starts doing the same things again. It is shame there isn't a decent expat alternative.

Got a Devyce expat number, customer service is brilliant, they ironed out all my problems, I was so pleased with the service that i emailed them and told them to cancel the free trial and give me full service after 7 hours

A late night google of how to get UK service abroad sparked my interest into Xpatfone & Deyce, fast forward 36 hours and my number was successfully ported, with no observable changes to my standard UK service.

A serious refresher in communications regarding porting, keeping you updated as progress is made.
