“Chocolate that actually tastes of chocolate”... that's pretty much my entire philosophy summed up in six words! 😄🍫
I'm not trying to make the cheapest chocolate, Jonathan. Proper cocoa butter, quality ingredients and making everything ourselves in small batches costs more, so hearing you say it's worth every penny genuinely means a lot.
And I'm particularly pleased you mentioned the personal touch. However much DGF grows, I never want to lose that.

Excellent But .......
I discovered DGF about 6 months ago, and by far my favourite is the white chocolate, which is excellent and was my go-to treat! I cannot fault the quality! However, it isn't regularly produced anymore as it's apparently too difficult a process. There was one recent small batch, but the price had risen from £7.99 a bar to £10.99 a bar, which just pushes it beyond what I think is reasonable to spend on what is a very nice keto treat.

Darrell, I read this one and, genuinely, it pulled on my heartstrings a little because I completely understand where you're coming from.
Firstly, I'm delighted the White became your go-to treat. And I should clarify something... it isn't actually harder to make. The problem is capacity.
White is a completely different recipe, so I have to dedicate one of our machines to making it, empty and thoroughly clean everything afterwards, then switch back to Milk. At the moment we're struggling to make enough chocolate to keep up with demand, so keeping those machines producing our core recipes for longer runs has unfortunately had to take priority.
On the price... I completely empathise. It's a lot of money for a bar of chocolate.
The difficulty is that our White is an extraordinary 45% cocoa butter. Cocoa butter is actually more expensive than the cocoa beans themselves. Think of it a bit like olives and olive oil... extracting the valuable oil, or in this case cocoa butter, is considerably more expensive.
Cocoa prices have increased enormously over the last 18 months and, as a small family business which is vastly dwarfed by the big chocolate conglomerates, we haven't yet seen the benefit of the more recent falls in prices coming through to the ingredients we're buying.
One way manufacturers can keep prices down is by replacing expensive cocoa butter with cheaper fats such as palm oil. I simply won't do that. I'd rather make less White Chocolate and keep it as the genuinely high-quality product you fell in love with.
But please don't think White has disappeared forever! We still make occasional batches and often have some available behind the scenes for subscribers. Drop us a message whenever you're craving a bar and, if we've got some, we'll happily sort you out.
And as our ingredient costs come down, I'll absolutely pass those savings on where I can.

Absolutely delicious chocolate. Only problem is that the crunchy caramel bars sell out before I can buy them because they’re made in such small batches. Must be quicker next time.

I'm really sorry you keep missing them, Jacqui. We genuinely make everything ourselves in small batches, and some flavours disappear far quicker than I ever expect. Toffee Crisp is clearly developing quite a following!
I suppose selling out is a lovely problem for me to have... although considerably less lovely when you're the person trying to buy one. 😄

Too good for words
My chocolate arrives by subscription and my intention is always to “make it last”… but I just can’t! The bars are SO delicious that once opened, I can’t leave them alone.

Ah yes... the famous “I'll make this month's chocolate last” plan. Admirable in theory. Less successful once the wrapper is open! 😂🍫
Knowing the subscription has become something you enjoy this much is a huge compliment. I want the chocolate to feel like a proper indulgence, just without all the added sugar you'd normally expect.
And I'm especially pleased you mentioned my little note. It takes me a bit of extra time, but I never want DGF to become a faceless chocolate company where an order is just another number.

Great taste diabetic friendly
I order this chocolate regularly for myself, I am a type 1 diabetic and it is lovely to have some chocolate without high blood sugar levels. Tastes amazing too, I love the dark chocolate best.

This is exactly why I started making DGF. I wanted people who were cutting their sugar, including those living with type 2 diabetes, to have proper chocolate to look forward to rather than feeling they were missing out.

I know our chocolate isn't cheap, so hearing you say it's worth it genuinely means a lot. I make it using proper cocoa butter and quality ingredients, in small batches, rather than taking the shortcuts that would make it cheaper.

Had my first experience of this…
Had my first experience of this delicious chocolate and had to order more. Doing a keto type of diet I don’t feel deprived of chocolate when I can add a square or two of DGF chocolate without feeling guilty. Can’t wait for my second lot to arrive

You're absolutely right that I'm not trying to make the cheapest chocolate. Proper cocoa butter, quality ingredients and making every batch ourselves costs more... but I want every bar to be worth it.

I honestly don’t know how Deliciously Guilt Free do it, but somehow they’ve managed to make chocolate that feels like a treat, tastes like a proper treat, and yet doesn’t leave me sitting there afterwards thinking, “Well… that was a terrible decision.” 😂
I absolutely LOVE these chocolates! They’ve become a serious part of my life — so much so that running out is no longer a minor inconvenience… it’s a FULL-SCALE EMERGENCY! 🚨🤣
There’s something for every chocolate mood, and the hardest part is genuinely trying to make my stash last. I have attempted the whole “I’ll just have one piece and save the rest” approach.

I particularly enjoyed the optimism of “I'll just have one piece and save the rest.” We've all told ourselves things we knew weren't true, Bobbie. There is no judgement here. 😂
Behind all the laughs though, you've actually described exactly what I wanted to create when I started DGF. I never wanted people who were cutting their sugar or carbs to feel they had to settle for some miserable substitute that technically ticked the right boxes. I wanted to make proper chocolate... something rich, indulgent and exciting enough that receiving the parcel genuinely DID feel like Christmas morning.
And hearing that my chocolate has become “a serious part of your life” is both an enormous compliment and, frankly, quite a responsibility. I'd better keep making the stuff!
I also love that you're enjoying the variety. Creating new flavours is one of my favourite parts of what I do... although clearly I'm not helping with the stash-management problem.
