Faulty Controller, Bad Paint Job

I ordered a GameCube controller on December 15th, 2022, and it arrived on January 5th, 2023. I did pay an extra $19.98 for Rush Processing. The website claimed that Rush Processing guarantees shipment in 2-6 days but it might take longer during holiday season, and my controller took about 13 business days (18 days total) to be shipped. That’s understandable because it was ordered during peak holiday season. However, not only did the controller come badly painted, but it’s also completely unresponsive. We tried connecting it through a GameCube adapter to both the PC and the Switch and it just does not work. An official controller plugged into the same ports works perfectly fine. The design was off-center, a bit of the paint was already chipping off, and there were visible scratches even though the controller should be unused. Also, do consider that if the design of your controller has painted handles it might be uncomfortable to hold because it’s not smooth. The controller was meant to be a gift to my partner, a dedicated Melee player in need of his own GameCube controller, and it just left both of us feeling pretty disappointed after a long period of anticipation. Those $200 controllers are not cheap either. We submitted a ticket for a return and refund.

Scammers!!

Absolutely shocking service ordered my controller nearly 6 months ago now and still nothing bank are finally dealing with it and I shall receive a refund. Beware of this company they are scammers!

Company neglects to inform you that the inside of the controllers are filled with..GLUE

I really loved this controller and had it for about 8 months. What they don't tell you is, they glue the parts inside the controller together, so if you want to clean it, basically everything on the inside breaks. Which is what happened to me. I dealt with this at the end of October 2022. I talked to support and they discussed me sending it in as well as waiving the labor fee because they knew they were wrong in not indicating that they do this. I then sent a video explaining more in depth and showing the broken parts, and they replied saying they would forward it to their tech team. 2 months later and multiple emails from me asking for an update- no response.

Controller Order

I ordered my controller back October 21st, no updates, no emails about my controller, nothing. It’s now December 14th and still no emails.

COD DOMINATION

With the new game out I got the controller just after it came out! The quick scope aspect has helped me climb the ranks! Works a bit faster than me!

Christmas

The controller was ordered and arrived to me well before I expected took about three weeks but still well before Christmas! Can't wait to see my kid's face light up!

Late/No communication

First off I sent two messages through the website and got no replies back. Was expecting my order two weeks ago and am still waiting. I was really hoping for a good experience. Would suggest going to another company, you'd probably get your product way quicker with communication.

We understand the frustrations, sadly staffing issues while not present in our other departments are present in customer service. I am currently the only one working our customer service department, and had to be out of office for a couple of days due to a personal reason. No communication

There has been a severe lack of communication. For my first order placed in July, they didn't tell me it had to go back for touch ups until I reached out asking what was taking so long. Even then, the placement of the design was off and I sent it back for correction/replacement. According to the tracking number, they received it on August 30th but they haven't even acknowledged receipt on there customer service page. They mentioned that they had issues with technician staffing, but I was not told if that was the same case for the customer service department.

We have had staffing issues all around that have mostly been corrected. We are working on catching up from the backlog caused by the staffing issues putting in overtime hours and doing all in our power to get things done as timely as we can. so i made a custom order for my gf

so i made a custom order for my gf, and when checking out i used the affirm option which i have used on multiple other sites such as amazon and tcg player, so when i saw that they used it it was awesome! i used it typed in my info as normal and checked out, it took about 10 days for them to confirm my order and another 5 or so to make it. then it shipped which was an issue, it was never confirmed on the affirm account and something had gone wrong on their end (i know its them as i extensively use autofill all the time and did so here as well) yet the controller shipped anyway, ok, so im expecting them to contact me about payment issues before shipping which all stores should do, but they dont they dont after shipping and they didnt when it arrived. i went on vacation shortly after thinking i will probably have to deal with this when i get back but worried i extensively covered the bbb's guide to collecting money that is due and they say to give at least a month before pressing legal issues. ok this insured me i could mute my emails and stuff while i flew out to mass to visit family. halfway through the trip though and i get an urge to look at my emails and there is like 5 emails all asking about payment while the last and most recent one was threatening legal suit, i was on vacation for a total of 6 days.... definitely not a month in the slightest. from its arrival it had only been 1 and a half weeks and yet the first email before the threat was only like 5 or 6 days apart, little to no warning before persueing legal actions, yikes. so understandably so i was furious and gave them a piece of my mid and told them how Awful of a company they are for doing such a thing. they had the gull to respond with, thats not very nice dont talk to us that way say sorry as if i owe you anything, you have cause me nothing but stress and strife on my family vacation that only lasted a week. i told them they dont deserve an apology and that they are in the wrong, they didnt like that, threw a hissy fit and said and i quote "enjoy the free controller" so thats it then right? small company doesnt want to fight in court? wrong, 1 and a half months later they send me a paypal request with the simple title of, "pay to avoid further legal action" bruh 1 you would def lose in court now after stating in email writing that it was now free you cant just say that then go back and say nah screw you you lose sir, but as i am just a regular person i cannot afford to go to court and shame them publicly like they deserve, so i paid them the money. I hope every one hears my story about Controller Chaos and no one ever shops here again to avoid these absolutely scummy people.

edit for scummy owner: yes paying for the product is of course what most people would do and is what i would have done if your company was competent enough to handle a basic system like affirm without causing issues, you sent me a product without even verifying payment like??? doesn't matter if i ordered it you never took money or asked me about it until after it arrived which is not standard practice and tbh not really ok not like you could understand that all you want to do is throw you rooster around its not hard everything i needed to do was done on my part, yall mess up the transaction, then when you send it without a payment like a brainless chimp you freak out and start threatening me with legal actions for YOUR mistakes. good look on ya, cant even wait for someone to come off of vacation before you start being a scummy POS it does not matter that i ordered a product you messed up the process then blamed and threatened me nah you deserve to drown as a company, just a bunch of sweaty discord mods with a power tripping legal team, there are TONS of better custom controller sites that have treated me well here's a list so you never have to ever use controller chaos again

www. colorware .com : they have custom controllers for a wide range of consoles as well as custom made others like custom airpod cases, they even have a 12-month warranty you can add to ensure your product is safe for a whole year

battlebeavercustoms .com : a well known custom controller making company that goes above and beyond for their creations and actually contact you about it along the way! unlike some companies who wont contact you about anything even payment issues until after your product arrives and at the most inconvenient time so they can threaten legal actions and swing their dongs at ya. my b went a little off track, i shoulda just used one of these plentiful options

www. kontrolfreek .com : not so much a custom controller site like the rest but has a bunch of accessories for performance and looks like thumbstick covers, grips, and paddles in a wide variety of colors.
in short, controller chaos is scummy and there are many other BETTER options that wont threaten you if THEY mess up payment :)

just be lucky I cant sue you, you'd lose

Took some time to arraive but not taking a star away because its still virus time technically, and because yhe customer service was great and responsive. Controller is excellent (even under SSBMelee duress) and looks great. Will be buying again.

I waited 2 months to get my controller

I waited 2 months to get my controller and I was fine with that but them not letting me know like hey we are having some issues sorry about that but no they only told me after I had emailed them but I am happy that they at least got my order in a lot sooner then it should but still.

This is the most awful experience I have had purchasing a controller for my ps5. I ordered my custom controller back on June 9th and received my controller over a month later. Out of the box the controller did not work properly. The left thumb stick drifted and the left trigger would activate without touching it. It is now late sept and they received my return for repair so I suspect it will be another month before I get my controller and hope that it works. Do not buy from this company, you’ll be out over 100$.
