Stolen car result
My experience in dealing with the theft of my car from my driveway overnight was handled with empathy and advice from the advisor I dealt with. the time taken from reporting the theft and the settlement figure (market value) from the insurer was acceptable. I found the dealing with the advisor (Ariana) was so much more comfortable than using the online facility.

Renewing a policy
The renewal arrived through the post, the premium had risen by over £100, probably because of my claim, I don't mind that but it can't keep rising by that amount until the claim is paid off. The insurance policy rolled over for another year, I'll see how much the premium is next year.

CHURCHILL INSURANCE
I have both a Car and Home Policy with this Company and feel obliged to report the following.
On the 16th July I attempted to amend my address on my Car Policy (House policy taken out on new address) via the Churchill website at the cost of £19.04
However the website was not able to complete the action and I was directed to a Chatbot, which proved totally useless, so I was then directed to a Customer representative who went through the same procedure as the website and completed the action at a now cost of £26.88. After failed protests I had little choice but to agree to the additional costs and requested the details of the Complaints Dept to whom I sent a copy of the conversation (Churchill complaint No 1). I did not get a reply or any acknowledgement. I also informed Churchill that I would not be renewing either policy.
On the 10th October I received a message that my Car Insurance had been automatically renewed.
On the 12th October I rang Churchill Complaints (0800 051 0122 as shown on the website) and after going through all the policy details with the AI was put through to a real person who duly cancelled the policy at the cost of £24. I protested about the cost and this was duly logged as a complaint. (Churchill complaint No 2).
I then received notification of the cancellation, however Churchill had cancelled the Home Insurance not the Car Insurance.
I rang the aforementioned number and this time actually ended up at the Home Insurance Dept who acknowledged what had happened but informed me that it would take up to 3 days to reply. (Churchill complaint No 3).
I stated that this potentially leaves me without Insurance which Churchill agreed but stated that I would be covered if Churchill found it was their fault. So basically a broken system subject to constant failure would judge whether it was working correctly or not.
Needless to say I will be going elsewhere and would say to any potential Churchill Customers – you have been warned.
I have heard nothing from Churchill.
