Tried tried and tried but it never worked!
Oh the debit of £40 worked every time🤔
But not the charging of my car….
I travelled throughout Europe and it is by far the worst EV country so far…
Such a shame for Bonnie Scotland !!!

New to all this… yet to charge the car, yet the app and ordered a card is so poor.
Embarrassing.
Who is accountable for this.

Chargeplace Scotland does a sneaky little trick.
If you press the start charging icon on your app more than once you will have more than one pending transaction on your bank account.
They also collect fines for local councils if you overstay at a rate of £1/minute. I would not recommend Chargeplace Scotland.
Podpoint is a more reliable honest company.

Chargers most of the times doesn’t work. We reported multiple issues:
-difficulties in connection between app and charger
-cc payment and charge approved, but actually never started

A bail of 35£ is always charged even when the charge doesn’t start. It takes 4-8days to have it back.

We often noticed discrepancy with zapmap info, and the real status of chargers (map location / working status / cable availability / speed).

Chargers in Scotland are very few in most of the regions we travelled, and totally inadequate in the Highlands.

It’s likely that for resident people the use of Chargeplace card make everything easier, but for a turist the whole system is simply crazy

Half the chargers don’t work and most are so expensive it ended up costing twice as much to run as my petrol car.

Living in a flat with no access to a home charger, every charging experience was so bad, I ended up trading my new ev in after three months, losing a lot of money and going back to petrol.

ther is no Zero star option so giving 1 star. Utter disgusting service, I tried charging my vehicle at Isle of Mull and paid around 200 pounds (Refunded after 5 days) before I could get my car charged after calling customer care.
There is no correlation between the app and the web account—only username and Password match.
I have uploaded the payment method, my charges are still shown as pending. The charges are 4 times more than the petrol price. I regret buying an electric car due to such pathetic service.

Attempted to charge my car at Gretna Train Station. Payment of £35 was taken & although the website showed my vehicle was being charged it wasn’t. Helpline telephone number & details were for BP Pulse who informed us the charging station had been taken over by charge place Scotland & gave us the correct helpline number. On calling we were informed the charging point was out of order & was nothing he could do. This is funded by the Scottish Government & I have yet to find a working charge place Scotland charge point so have had to find a private ones which work instantly.

I am FURIOUS!! My husband and I tried to charge his car on Saturday 6th July and it wouldn’t work so he tried with my card with the same outcome. He called the number on the machine and the man was really helpful and managed to set it up for us. We charged the car then left but I checked my account and there were 8 payments of £35 out of my account! My husband checked his account and he had 2 payments of £35 along with the actual charging fee taken from his account.
It’s now more than 4 days later and the payments are still pending.
I called my bank and they gave me the helpline of chargeplace Scotland so I just phoned them. Turns out they did actually cancel the payments YESTERDAY and it can take up to 5 working days for the payment to clear. The gentleman on the phone was professional and as helpful as he could be, but at the end of the day, they’ve taken over £200 from my account without my authorisation!

I've never been able to use these chargers, despite signing up and using the app and the scan code. I stood for 30 mins in the rain, cable dragged in mud, trying to get a charge. To be told, it's easier if you buy the card. No, get your shoddy app and web interfaces working!

I use swarco all the time, and yet when in Scotland, CPS has always been a problem. I even tried to use a charger that was on the app, the charge button was there on the app, to be told, that very charger wasn't on the app....

For a visitor to Scotland, this is really embarrassing, we shouldn't be forced to buy a charge card before we travel.

I will never try and use this shoddy network, I don't care how cheap it is, I'd rather know I can roll up to a different charger, and get a charge started within seconds.

We had a serious problem today when trying to disconnect our charger .
On contacting Chargeplace Scotland, the call was answered almost immediately.
The call lasting more tgan 15mins with Emma resulted in our issue being resolved. Emma was calm,reassuring ,professional and extremely helpful.
You cannot receive better service than our experience today .

Ended up late for work more than once trying to get through to them because I couldn’t get my car off charge! Received an email response a month after submitting it. Then they have the utter cheek to put the price up by over 30%. Shouldn’t be surprised, is it not run by the Scottish government?!

Tried charging at several fast chargers and every time an error message was displayed, money was deducted from my account and the car was not charged. There is only one charging company in Schotland and it is a horrible experience. Customer service is no help either..

The charger network is good, the problem is that they don't work. They charge you 75£ and then they don't give them back, you have to send an email that they don't answer....

We tried 6 Chargepoints today in Edinburgh before we found one that worked. Some did not work at all, others worked for only a few minutes before the app threw us out. We constantly had to call the helpline to get them to release our charging cable from the Chargepoint.

Absolutely horrendous service. Probably a perfect example of abysmal buying from the Scottish Government - this mob are clearly incapable of running the infrastructure as its constantly down.

What's worse though, when their barely stable at best app, decides to remove your bank details, you wait (often in a hurry) to some joke of a call centre that I've yet to ever actually get speak to. Normally get to 30 mins and hang up.

We sorely need the charging infrastructure in Scotland ran by a far more capable organisation. No Shirley, I don't care about your corporate policy, just answer the god damn phone so I can charge my car.

Card stolen and getting customer service to do anything is effectively impossible. Both speaking to customer service as well as emailing them has yielded nothing. Sadly if you want to travel north of the border, they are a necessary evil.

Chargeplace Scotland terrible....
They charged me twice for the same charging session.Also sent me 2 invoices for it...I think it was because they changed the payment system from direct debit to instant payment with your card details.
Anyway sent them 2 emails about it...they say will get in touch within 48 hours...do they..no...nothing. Tried a few times on the phone helpline...nothing just music.If this is the best we get in Scotland it needs a lot of work to get it right...The government needs to sort this out for electric car owners...

Had a problem with a charger not recognising the rfd card...day 1 gave up after 45 minutes
Day 2...now desperate gave up after 30 minutes.
Customer answering times are truly dreadful...if you have an issue and there are alternatives nearby go for them...unless you want to grow a beard waiting for an answer..

They advertised fast chargers at 50kw and charge a premium with hefty fines for an overstay. Instead they deliver a fraction of the advertised KW but charge the higher price and fine you for getting all of 7kw in an hour.

The systems changed and people had to call to activate a charge. I was at one of the main charging hubs and there was at least 20 cars stranded.

Have spent over 5 hours trying to get through to them this week alone.

System is now useless. Spend hours on the phone trying to unblock my account every day so I can charge up. Most frustrating experience. No sign of any fix. Has now been going on for over a week with no updates it’s like no one seems to care or is trying to fix this debacle. Not fit for purpose.
